Manilla(Diamond) Windows media player skin (QVGA ONLY)

its been a while since I posted some of my graphics, Ive seen that u guys are very interested in the diamond style skins, so I made up a windows media player skin which is not seen anywhere else yet, the graphics all all from scratch, even the phone (diamond) itself is done by me (replica to the diamond phone)
all u have to do is Unzip the file and and drag to ur device somehere, for example, create a folder in ur storage card Documents called media player skins and drag my diamond folder over there, open windows media player, u dont have to play anything just click ok and go to menu/options/skins tab, let it search for all the skins available in ur device and pick mine, make sure you do this in portrait and landscape.
I will be releasing more of the diamond style graphics when the time allows.

you should open the portait image, drag the picture album inside and angle it the way I have the album art angeled, then cut 123x123 and save as ur picture album, see an example below, but that it will only work in portrait, if u rotate to landscape it will look weird.

Okay, it was a simple fix. All I had to do was sync the music using Windows Media Players instead of just dragging and dropping to my storage card. I guess WMP syncs files required to show the picture.

the diamond is VGA 480x640 and not QVGA 240x320 therefore it wont work in your device, in this thread someone made a vga version of my skin, hopefully you can find it.

I kicked the album art size up to 160x160 instead of the default 123x123

Also got rid of "status" marquee (artist, album, bitrate) because that's what album art is for, and all my mp3s are high bitrates, so I'd rather have the screen space...

Screenshot attached, and if you want the same on your device, change the attached "portrait.txt" to "portrait.skn" and overwrite the one in poorlyduck's skin.

p.s. Oh, and some people were asking about how to install this skin. Copy the whole un-zipped folder to //Program Files/Windows Media Player/ (main mem, not on card) then change the skin from within wmp. Menu... Options... skin tab

p.p.s. To get album art working, I highly recommend MediaMonkey to organize, tag, and add covers to your music collection. But at the bare minimum, you need "folder.jpg" in the album's folder and SYNC TO YOUR DEVICE WITH WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER FROM YOUR PC. Plugging your phone directly in via usb and syncing takes a LONG time, but syncing to the memory card through a card reader is MUCH faster. Good luck.

PocketPlayer should be able to use Windows Media Player mobile skins but they must be in .skn format

Im definitly making the black skin diamond style of alot of apps, such as HTC home, calculator, commanager, icontact, already done but with some fixes HTC dialer, Thumbcal, new windows media player, s2u2, s2p, im finishing windows media player right now and I will move on to fix the commanager, because I had an issue with selection color bleeding.

I learned about this skin from this blog: http://www.pocketnow.com/index.php?a=portal_detail&t=news&id=6089. The blog has a picture of the skin showing rating (1-5 stars). I downloaded the QVGA version, but there were no rating stars shown. Is it only the VGA version that has ratings and would it be possible to have ratings also for the QVGA please?

If I may, I would also like to beg the author of the VGA skin whether he would be so kind and make the VGA landscape version (for Touch Diamond). Since the skin is really what the phone needs (in order to make it graphically united), I'd really want to install it but without landscape version it's useless for me (I'm using the G-Sen applications to rotate the screen). I downloaded the zip file to my pc. Unzipped it. Moved the unzippled folder to the storage card in a subfolder named "skin". When I open the Media Player and select menu>options and skins tab, it shows the default player and nothing more. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Does the phone need to be unlocked?

The QVGA one won't show up on the Diamond at all. You need the VGA one (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2796573&postcount=126).

Also, put the files in>
My Device/Program Files/Windows Media Player/Manilla

The last folder name can be whatever you want, but that's where I put my skins so they'll be recognized.

QVGA only ?? im confused now -- isnt the HTC Touch Pro (pictured) a VGA ?? :confused:

No. This is a QVGA skin, TP is VGA, so it'll look very odd...
