hi everithing is working fine until yesterday when mi mic die, i notice that the people on the other end speak to me laugther and laugther until they can hear me at all. i do a sound recorder test and the mic "worked", but the record is to poor, you can hardly hear the voice. does anyone now how to fix this.
please help me

hi again, i have try everithing, the last thing i do was, to try to connect a microphone from an old x30 pda, but i made a mistake, the microphone of the hermes do something else than been a mic, now my pda doesn't turn, does anyone know something. please help

Board level repair on the Hermes is very difficult. I think you need to take it to a repair shop - but beware of the repair cost, it might be cheaper getting another second hand Hermes.
Not sure why it does not turn on, but it could be many things from a connector cable not fully inserted to a fused component. For this reason again I think professional repair is needed. You could dismantle again and double check all the connections.
The Hermes motherboard is multi-layered and even some repair shops will not tackle it. Some in fact will just quote you for a replacement and that will be very expensive.
