Hi there, i use the block recognizer a lot to compose SMS messages and on my old touch the word completion feature worked like a charm. However, no matter what settings i use on the diamond (e.g. suggest 3 words after 1 letter etc.etc.) this feature doesn't come up!!

Does anyone have the same issue, and any fixes for it?

I got the HTC touch on the first day it came out and haven't had any problems with it whatsoever. My diamond has been full of issues since day one!:mad::mad:

Maybe stupid...

Did you check in the settings if word completion is active?

You are correct. I complained about this in an earlier thread. I am using the latest ROM and it does not work.......

Doesnt work for me either. On my Tytn I choose to create a new message and when I start to type the contacts name for the To field it lists the contacts for that letter so I can select the correct one. Then for the message it will suggest words as I type, this is exactly what I want on my Diamond. I dont use T9. The nearest I can get on the Diamond is if I have "Word completion in ABC mode" ticked in the T9 Settings box then word suggestion works but it doesnt suggest contacts for the To field when creating a new message, instead it suggests words. This is not how I want it :(

I have the same problem, but only when I use the Block recognizer, using the keyboard works fine, but I'd rather use the block r... so when I need to list the contact I place the names and when I press send the phone give me the choice to select the right contact...

you need to disable xt9, then autocomplete will work again

Use something like KaiserTweak or Boinger's diamond config to change

Hi there, I try to create a cab file which can enable the word completion function for MSFT IME ( Block Recognizer / Keyboard / Letter Recognizer ).

Have fun~

I'm new to this level of use - I have had Win Mobile for years, but only yesterday did my first ROM update! How do I disable T9? I'm desperate for word completion on block recogniser (the only way to input!)

IMPORTANT: previously be sure that HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9\XT9SupportMSSip has a value of 0.

Simply change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409

Ime File : \windows\xt9ime.dll change to Ime File :\windows\compime.dll
and
Layout Text : XT9 IME change to Layout Text : COMP IME

And soft reset.

Nope it does not work perfectly. After that change, word completion only works for letter recogniser, but it does not work for the phone keyboard, compact qwerty, anything that uses the phone keypad.

The HTC keyboards all use T9 word completion, this thread was for the MS keyboards/input methods.

Do you know maybe a solution to have word completion in ABC mode also for HTC keyboards?!?!

Thnx

If you want to disable T9 in a cab it is post 8 here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445959
It uninstalls as well to re-enable T9. None of this is great though - the options are the old Windows autocorrect which is great but limited to the garbage onscreen windows keyboard or use the nice Diamond Keyboard and get stuck with T9 which is autocomplete and doesn't autocorrect (there's no such thing as a typo)

I also had this issue

I was a bit nervous about changing the registry as my settings were not identical to the example

I also had eT9ime.dll instead of xt9ime.dll

\windows\xt9ime.dll
I have:
\windows\eT9ime.dll

To fix this just change the "eT9ime.dll" to "COMP IME" (I think it is case sensitive so double check)

It now works perfectly with my beloved LETTER RECOGNIZER and I am very pleased to get this feature back :D

THANK YOU!

Can anyone make a cab file for this? To make it easier after hard resets.

Change the "eT9ime.dll" to what exactly?
"COMP IME" with space between and no .dll? I am sorry for my incompetence but I want to be sure because last time it ended with Hard reset :(

Hope this is gonna work in Compact QWERTY as I use that mostly.

I just followed the instructions below exactly, and it worked.
If you're worrying about hard resets, you've not had it long enough :D
Simply change these two registry keys under:
HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e 0010409

Ime File : \windows\xt9ime.dll change to Ime File :\windows\compime.dll
and
Layout Text : XT9 IME change to Layout Text : COMP IME

I now have -

"HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e001 0409" "Ime File" "\windows\compine.dll"
&
"HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\control\layouts\e001 0409" "Layout Text" "COMP IME"

(Ignore the space in the address between e00 & 10409, I didn't put it there but it appears anyway  )

Tnx for your help and believe me I have many hard resets behind me as every WM device user :) But now I have a lot of critical data and needed info on my phone and much at work so I can't allow one more sleepless night to restore everything to my previous state :D

I tried that you suggested and it worked in Letter recognizer but in Full QWERTY it worked not so good. If I write 3 letters and delete last one THEN I get suggestions not before and of course I checked suggestion after 2 letters and 3 words. As I said it worked only if I delete last letter, strange! Same for To: field.

Any suggestion?

Any suggestion?

Sorry, none from me.
I only use the original qwerty (not any of the newer full screen etc diamond ones) and it works fine for me. The 'To' field work for me also.
The rom no doubt makes a difference, I was using panosha's simple, it had word completeion enabled but after a few days it stopped working. I decided to go back to the stock (orange for me) rom as they all require tweaking so much it's hardly worth the bother flashing. Anyway back on topic, I assumed that as it did work and then stopped there must be a registry for it, found it here, been working since.

This solution worked for me as well. But... I'm Dutch and this 'solution' only gives me English suggestions. I did notice that unknown words are added to the 'stored enties'. So if I use it long enough it will give me solely Dutch words.

I also found out that the entries ar estored in the file '\Windows\compimeh.0409.dat'.

But now I wondering if these 'stored entries' are manageable? Because sometime I accidentally misspell a word but it gets added to the 'stored intries' anyway.

Alternatively:
Or rather the primary solution I'm hoping for: Is there a Dutch dictionary that works with the Block recognizer word completion feature. I do have the Dutch dictionary installed for all the other input methods, but apparently it isn't used for the block recognizer.

Hi i changed this reg settings yesterday, and i realized today that my "SPACE" button from software full QWERTY keyboard is gone. instead "SPACE" ive got ".com" and "/".
Any ideas what to do excluding hard reset :).
I restored reg settings back for xt9ime.dll and xt9 ime and still have no SPACE button. :(
