No I wouldn't be. As long as you don't distribute maps with it or cracks for maps.

The program itselves can be distributed, like HTC distributes a TomTom 6 version for the HTC P3600 too (without map).

Htc has a license to distribute them, do you?

ofc it would be "warez", the application is patterned like the maps, and you cannot distribute them without permission from the owner

Still, there's no indication that tomtom v7 will come out for ppc, check the post date from modaco it's from 15may

Anyway so far there is no proof that TomTom 7 even exists so ripping is hypothetical. As for warez...well a lot of stuff here is extracted from ROMs and redistributed without official licenses, so...

Thanks, keep 'em coming !
Is Mapshare there ? Is that an O2 Germany Diamond or O2 UK ?

Lord Buckingham, could you confirm if TT7 runs/doesn't run like a dog on the diamond? All the VGA PDAs I've seen run at about 1 second per frame when doing a TT6 route demo. My HTC prophet is smooth as silk (QVGA) with TT6.

Is the map display very jerky? I'm hoping that Tomtom have written the TT7 exclusively for the Diamond, with excellerated graphic driver code. There's a lot of talk of Tomtom being annoyed at all the warez... so that would be a neat solution to stop all of that: Just bind the TT7 exe to the Diamond Chipset in code!

No, it is real! Just see the following page:

::MOD EDIT. WAREZ LINK REMOVED::

So, I strongly hope someone will rip it soon and share it with us!

er...do we really need this link, this is a WAREZ site and in their shameless tradition of STEALING stuff, they stole the caps posted here without giving the source, shame on them.

I've asked in an O2 shop (germany) and they confirmed TT 7. But only with a city map of choice. Like the "Voucher" in TT 6. Country maps must be baught and downloaded with TT Home.

PS: TT7 ihas no TMC support

Yes, go on spill the beans, how does it run compared to TomTom 6?

If you’re going to give out a teaser like that then a mini review is in order...

ok , ok , i understand the XDA policy about warez, and i subscribe 100%, but anytime we all can see lot of ripped soft from ROMs like Opera 9.5 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395121) posted, and can't see the difference about Opera 9.5 ripped from Diamond ROM and TomTom 7 ripped from Diamond ROM...

mmmmm

any ripped soft from a ROM is warez soft?

Cheers ;)

OK, I understand.

But your judgement was premature. In this case the link lead to NO WAREZ, since nobody has extracted and/or cracked TomTom 7 so far! The thread of that forum only SHOWED several screenshots of the new version (taking the screenshots from a LEGALLY installed copy of the software). Is it clear?

Anyway, I will refrain from linking to that site or similar ones in the future!

The hell you talking about lol, stolen pictures.
The graphics, if any, belong to TomTom, they definitely don't belong to whoever takes the screen captures, that's just nonsence.

Tho I do agree, links to sites that contain "warez", even if the link itself is to a topic with nothing illegal, doesn't really belong here.

The fact of the matter is we have issued a warning to ALL users here that distributing or even discussing a free version of TOMTOM for this device WILL be treated as warez and handled as such.

Anybody willing to post such material will be banned....simple.

Thread closed as it is going nowhere.
