I have several SP5 phones, and i've used them without much trouble for the last coupe of years. We used a Linksys router to connect via wifi and it worked well, but know we bought a Cisco 851w router and the SP5 don't connect to it. They receive the SSID, but if we try to connect to the router, it just doesn't happen.
The SP5 are flashed with the last official i-mate WM5 ROM.

Does anyone has any idea what the problem maybe? I've read that the CCX Cisco extension has caused some problems with others HTC devices, but i don't knonw if this router uses CCX and if it does how to disable it.

Any help is welcomed.

Try set PowerMode. Find key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\tiacxwln1\Parms\HTCPowerMo de

Set the value to 0 (default should be 4)

That registry value is already set in 4, thanks anyway. I am pretty sure the problem is with the router, the infamous CCX, but i have no clue how to solve this, and in cisco forums i haven't found any answers.

Sorry, I meant to set to 0. (Have updated my first post)

Try it. This trick works for me on my gigafast router.

Not sure if this will help, but how I got my tornado working with my dlink router was to go into the wireless setup of the router and change the WPA mode to 'WPA Only' and to change the cipher type to 'TKIP'.

For some reason if the WPA mode is set to auto (WPA or WPA2), the tornado will never connect.
