*NEW* PocketCM QVGA Diamond Theme (Best Yet) Now 0.25 Ready - Post #47 (Ver 1.2)

All,

This is my first attempt as modding a theme.. I think I did a good job..

I took the PDVista PocketCM theme with PD's permission and modded the graphics. I also got help from DvTonder to correct the mail icon issue with the newer version of PocketCM.

This will work with PocketCM .21 - .23

This looks just like the HTC Diamond, background, pop up icons on the bottom, etc..

If someone wants to do the graphics over, be my guest.. I would love to play more but don’t have the time.. I spend like a week and change to get things where they are now..

Graphics that need to be done over:

Dial pad needs to be done in gloss black
Dial pad "pressed" buttons need to be done over in gloss black
Menu "pressed" buttons need to be done over with the fancy black diamond theme icon (I included it in the zip).
The icons on the main contact menu need to be done over in gloss black.

This theme has a Greatbal Diamond Look.

Edit: I noticed your theme is a large one, almost a 1mb. Which I imagine the larger the file (theme) the slower it starts up. Nice theme though.

It looks sweet. The only thing that I don't like about it is that I can't see the phone numbers on the contact screen without scrolling down to it.

Wow! Just downloaded pocketcm and your theme rocks! I'm a noob.... anyway to incorporate the text messaging from pocketcm into the standard texting from spb shell using one of the themes people have posted... (such as diamond theme?)

skin turns aqua blue in letter spaces between contacts.and the menu to close and pick options never fully rises. now i'm sick:confused:best skin for this app i seen yet.

I just installed it on htc Touch and the color of the font is BLACK for all contacts. So, I can not see any. The color needs to be set to WHITE. Thanks.

I use it on my Mogul and it seems to be fine. It's not so bad on startup and I found that it only uses up about 2 mbs of memory.

Honestly, i got tired of reading the whole text message and could not figure out how to disable the auto show phone number with contacts option and make it come up when you select it in the options. so i just made it black, i can change it and upload two diff copies for you guys. If someone can look at the code and tell me what the option is to give the control back to the options "show contacts with phone number" i will change it.

Well its not my code so thats prob the reason there are no bugs :-) Thanks to DV T and PD... I just modded the code and changed the pics.

:-) Thanks.. I will prob finish up the graphics since you all like it.. You may want to try a soft reset... I have tested this on my Mogul only.. I can change the highlighted colors if you really want me to.. but it makes it easy to see.. What about two shades of blue??

this is what i was trying to decribe.i have same problem.also i guess the letter bars between the contacts is supposed to be that aqua blue.i'd like to see that in another color.

This was a problem in the PDVista as well. All i did was change the graphics ans modd the code a lil for the pop up isons and mail. I dont know enough about the code yet to fix this..

I just had that problem as well, it seems that when you hold down the button you get that error then pocketcm will crash. I’ll look into it and see if i can fix it over the weekend sometime. The hot pink color is because some of the images are translucent. I will do them over in solid black to resolve this issue.

Can you change the font for the phone numbers to be white instead of black? Then it would be perfect :)

Excellent theme, the only thing that does not seem as good as you can make it is the back text, which I see you are working on, and the send button in the SMS area, the send button text is hard to read, and it just is not up to the level of the rest of the theme.

Other then that, Good job man, this theme is really nice looking! :)

Whats "a while" .... it maybe takes 2-3 seconds to load on my tilt.


There's a lot to the program, so it has to load a bit more then standard contacts.

Once it opens, even if you hit the x button in the top right, it stays open in the background. (Unless you close it in task manager)

So it should come up almost instantly.

It might be the speed of the device thats making it a bit slower. the Tilt is one of the faster HTC device.

Ok,

I took some time and made some changes..

I gave two options, one with a black second line font and the other with grey. I also fixed the second menu because I didn’t even know it existed until you guys told me it did. I also made the alphabet highlights to grey and the selector to a lighter grey.

Te only thing I have left over is to do the menu background bubbles because they are also transparent and when you select them you will get the hot pink effect. I also changed up the send button a lil to help see it better for those who had a problem..

So Far So Good.. Give me about 5 minutes and ill upload the updates screen shots and file options.

On my device 4-5 seconds......:(

This is what I was mentioning in my earlier post. On my device (Kaiser), it loads up iinitially 4-5 seconds. If i leave it runniing in the background, it loads up in a second or less. The weird thing is that when i use the generic black theme (59kbs), it initially loads quick, like in a second (as though i left in running in the background). I'm think this diamond theme is loading on my device in 4-5 seconds is because it's almost a 1mb. Just a hunch. Maybe it's just my device.
The updated version is slighty quicker than the last previous version though, (a much cleaner too).

This is a good theme. One issue is that if i hold down to get ot the options section the images for the invisible menu show only halfway and are surrounded by purple on my HTC 6800

Love the theme - looks great. I've been using PCM on my old M700 for a long time and it kicks the WM Contacts dead.

Picked up my Diamond last night and installed PCM 0.23 first thing. Standard on VGA sucks, so I downloaded this theme. Looks fine at load (see first picture), but when I scroll I get horrible screen smear like it is not repainting properly (see 2nd screen grab):confused:. Any clues?

Umm . . . yep. The Diamond is VGA (640 x 480)

Then that’s the issue.. The code/images need to be modified for 640x480. I don’t have a device with that resolution so I wont be able to help you..

DOH! My bad - sorry:o. For some reason I had thought this was a VGA theme. Looking back over the posts I have no idea why i thought that.

Now This Theme Is PocketCM 0.24 ready…..

I am truly in love with this Diamond Theme with Tene pointing me in the right direction I was able to mod my existing theme to work with PocketCM 0.24

So here are the changes:

Added scroll bar to the main SMS page
Centered and moved the (160/160) SMS count down.
Adjusted the SMS contact picture link.
Changed the press ms time from 250 – 150ms
Moved the mail/phone indicator icons around and put them in a better visual spot. (no overlapping counters to picture to mail icon).

I am also using the Diamond T9 keyboard with this theme and it really looks nice.

Yeah, spoke too soon. There are some hot pink backgrounds when editing contact information.

I just reloaded my xv6800, installed pocketcm .25c and setup your diamond black. pocketcm is now VERY slow. when I return to the built in black items respond instantly but with your skin there is a noticeable delay. Any thoughts why?

Its not my skin.. its the app.. the new ver of the app is very slow.. i will have to re-draw the images to remove the hot pink when pressed problem. i am to get some support from T on the pocketcm website with no reply yet.. i am working on a 1.3v now.. i will also consider fixing the hot pink issue as well..

I trye to use PocketCM with my HTC Diamond device. But you see the screenshot, the size didn't show me correct. And the show me allot of artefact, the text are freezed, I don't know how I can explain.
I have tryed several theme from XDA-forum but not one show me correct.
Only the default Dark and Dream theme show me with the right size.
In the Dark theme only the default picture from the contact show me in the wrong possition.

Looks like you have a VGA device. I believe this skin is only for QVGA.
