if you look at the first line of the ROM it says ROM: 1.34.831.1 WWE
with (WWE) being World Wide English
so other languages would be Chinese(CHT) as an example.

Yes, that's what HardSPL is all about. It gives u the possibility to change to whatever ROM version u want. Keep in mind that it is done on your own responsibility and you will probably loose warranty.

After upgrading your Orbit II to a Diamond ROM, your device from HTC becomes a rather attractive Paperweight!

Use it to chase cats off your lawn by throwing it at them...

You can "play" with some registry tweaks (the ones mentioned in the relevant thread) with no problem. It's up to you to decide if you like it or not.

I got mine upgraded by sending it to the distributer to flash. if someone can point me to the right thread regarding flashing for Diamond, i'll be glad to dump it for u guys. Hi is this rom includes flash player for web sites. the 1.34 and 1.35 ( mine current one now ) doesnt have this. I couldnt see any flash based web sites. Your could ? ( not meaning youtube or metacafe based video sites all kind of flash based web sites )

It's just updates... you won't have any problem to network reception!

Hi guys i am still very confused and any help will be apprciated, my ROM version is 1.35.456.3 WWE, as iunderstand there is a newer ROM version, can someone tell me which one ex\ctly, i have also installed advanced config and would like to know how exactly to tweak and increase the system file size filter from 8MB onwards. Once again any help will be appreciated

I am using this ROM and can defintly say that the heating up issue and battery are not fixed .. PS the heating up is NOT the actuall batery heating , it is more close to where you put the SIM card , so maybe just the powerfull proc ..?

I have noticed my handset to be usually warm with hot peaks.
After some heavy googling, a few chaps claim to have the issue solved. Others not.
I'm curious as to what might be causing it.

My running programs list is always empty/minimally filled.
I have switched off auto network band detect and set it to 3G at all times.

I usually have the phone turned off (standby) when I don't use it.

First of all you can go to www.htc.com and join HTC e-Club. Register your product and then get the appropriate version for your Diamond version (Europe or Asia). This version is for the europe model (UK). The asia similar version is (RUU_Diamond_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.37.707.1_Radio_Signed_ Diamond_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship).

Also you can get the Europe (UK and others) RUU_Diamond_HTC_Europe_1.37.401.3_Radio_Signed_Dia mond_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship.exe

Honestly not too much , but I can really say the menus are much better , not perfect , but extreamly reasonable , as prior they were ver very laggy even after hard reset , with nothing on the phone response time is like 1/4 of second now where it was probably closer to two seconds prior for doing things like scrolling across form HOME page to PROGRAMS page for example .. things like txt messages still the same ...about 5 seconds to open reply to sms ... but over all I love this phone

Which SPL version u are using? I think you should try hard-spl, but not the developers edition!

i have two questions:

1) im currently running the 1.37 original rom

i find it lags quite a bit (but a lot less than 1.34) is the elite versioner significantly better in this area?

2) would you suggest I backup my settings contacts etc, using the spritebackup tool?

Many thanks for |Elite 2.0| very good ROM :) Although I have my GPS restarting every 20 minutes or so, but that a very little bug.
Pros for Elite 2.0
1) Very fast
2) Memory saved
3) Battery friendly (not being eaten within 30 minutes of constant 3G or WiFi use)
4) WiFi works everywhere and even with save battery mode
5) Bass improved with Head Phones (now I can hear music :) )
6) Very stable

Cons:
1) GPS resets
2) FM radio bad, bad, bad...

Hi there, got my first Diamond today so this is my first post.

As I know Vodafone hasn't officially released the HTC Diamond in germany.
I must be one of the first, that got this Vodafone branded stuff.

unfortunately this german stock ROM is blown with useless apps and thereby the ui is awfull slow an ugly. before I'll try to flash i want to make sure, that there's a backup of this special rom in case of warranty. If not I'd like to know how to make a dump of the stock ROM. I'd be grateful for help!

You got to install Hard-SPL first, in order to cid unlock your device and be able to install ROMs from other geographical areas and other carriers.
Make a search, there is a couple of sticky threads about Hard-SPL, and you can check the wiki too.
