I've long been using cooked ROMs on my Wizard. I recently updated to an ATT Tilt and decided not to waste my time with the ATT rom and went straight for Dutty's latest. Here's what I did:

1) Set up Activesync as per normal, synced data to ATT stock phone
2) Ran Pof's kaiser-HardSPLv1 script
a) It completed without error
b) Didn't notice any obvious changes
3) Downloaded NEON_Radio_Only_1[1].58.25.17_CustomRUU from Dutty's thread.
a) Seemed strange it was called Radio_Only...
b) Ran KaiserCustomRUU
c) Everything loaded correctly
4) Device rebooted itself, ended up with "static" of random pixels on screen.
a) Had "Oh shit" moment
5) Tried a soft reset, with the following results:
a) ATT Logo, reports following info:
R: 1.58.25.17
G: 25.69.30.05H
D: 1.62.00.00
b) ATT 3G Animation
c) Blank screen (sometimes will show static, especially when plugging/unplugging USB cable)
6) Tried a hard reset, with the following results:
a) Warning about going to manufacturer's settings, hit "Send"
b) Restore scroll completes
c) Clicked "Send" to boot
d) Goes through ATT logo w/ same info
e) Green WM logo screen, no info
e) Tap screen to setup up windows mobile device
f) Went through WM setup screens (time, calibration, password, etc)
f1) Sometimes just beeps rather than doing setup screens
g) Starts installing customization files
h) Reboots, go to step 5.
7) Tried mtty
a) Reports "USB port cannot open"
b) Kicks out to a mostly empty tool

Other things I've tried:
1) Moving the USB port (between ports of hub, straight in the laptop)
2) Plugging/unplugging USB port
3) Using KaiserCustomRUU to reflash rom (get Error 260, cannot connect)

I'm stumped. I've got 10 windows up with different threads and can't seem to find anything that helps. Anyone have some advice?

Now it seems like it never even gives the "static" screen like it did at first. Just a blank screen and the buttons light up when I press them.

are you trying to reflash again? try reflashing using microsd:

the reason its called radio_only is because you never flashed the rom, just the radio, which probably doesnt work so well with the at&t rom. look at dutty's thread and find the link for the rom, i think its under the link to the radio. also, try updating to hardspl 3.29

The link to the micro-SD flash led to another good hint--using power-camera-reset to come up in boot mode. I can now access via mtty! Here's some info:

From the boot loader:
KAIS1*0
SPL-3.29-Hard
CPLD-8

That's reassuring that I've got HardSPL-3.29 on. I wasn't sure it was really successful, based on the lack of change after I loaded it.

Using mtty, I got the following:

Cmd>task 32
Card inserted

Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK

Card inserted

Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK

Card inserted

Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK

Level = 0

Cmd>info 2
Card inserted

Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK

Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK

Cmd5 CMD_TIMEOUT
SD 2.0 LC card
SD Init OK

Cmd>

It seems a little disconcerting that Cmd5 keeps reporting a timeout....

Also, I seem to get a strange low beep occasionally in the same state as I get a blank screen or static. Very very strange--seems like the processor is not running full speed or something and its trying to beep at me v e r y s l o w l y ...

After bringing up the bootloader, I was able to connect via mtty and then use Kaiser_RUU to flash Dutty's latest non-radio ROM.

Important: you can't update the ROM if mtty is running!

Anyhow, I'm running with the new ROM now. Works like a charm!
