I'm using my Athena as a UMPC, and guess that I'm not the only one here doing it. I don't use the phone at all, so basically my device is an Internet/office/movies UMPC.

Now, don't get me wrong, WM has its advantages on those areas, compared to a full PC OS, and according to various reports, WM 7 would be even better for making the most out of our machine.

Saying that, I would love having full Linux on the Athena, and I do believe its possible. Has any significant progress been made towards that? Does it interest more people? Do you think its possible? I don't care if the phone doesn't work, and I'm even willing to give up the touch screen and use a mouse...

That's why I've opened a different thread. I don't want Android. I want a full Linux distro. such as the new Ubuntu Netbook Remix, or either regular Ubuntu.....

qtopia on Athena worked since many months. It's only limited by the kernel hardware support.

Do you have any more information on this? I too would like a real linux option.

I am starting to read the Universal thread on it, but that is alot of reading....
