I made some images for today background.

Unzip the file & copy the images in Internal Storage\CONTENT\wallpaper folder.

Go to manila / settings / Wallpapers and choose the picture that you want it appears in today.

I think you mean the standard supplied blue ocean wallpaper. It isnt animated (and i don't think it's possible to do so).

If you connect as disk drive, you can't see the internal storage folder, but all the internal storage content. It's the same, but you can connect via activesync, for all folders view. Manila is the big Touch Flo today plugin in your today screen. Just slide to settings. :)

Manila is the code-name for Touchflo 3D. Internal storage is only visible on your phone when not connected to your pc.
Anyway, it's possible to put your photo's on another place...

I have one question regarding that FIRE FLAMES wallpaper - when i first got my diamond i set this wallpaper so my home screen looked excatly like this one on screenshots ... after that i flashed rom and now when i try to put this wallpaper on in - Settings - Wallpaper ... it is set to home screen but full 640x480 so not only small portion of this picture which i prefered more.

I see that your Diamond is able to show multiple calendar appointments, did you apply any tweaks? Or just been like that with the unit? because getting multiple schedules to show has always been a buggie thing with the 3D Flo. :confused:

When you are the Home screen flick your finger from Down to up... the Time will go small with a little bit of animation... :p and you will arrive at the same screen as shown in the pic.... and then when you want to revert back to the old home screen with the big time you flick it from up to down... i hope you understood my explanation...

Inspired by this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409136 and an image I saw on the internet, I made these simple but effective wallpapers. I hope you guys like them (the actual images are a lot better than the preview)!

p.s. If somebody wants a different colour background, logo etc etc, it only takes about 10-15 seconds to change it, so please ask!
p.p.s. I know the white logo doesn't work too well with the call log and calendar (can't see them) bute you can see everything fine if you switch to the smaller clock... The "retro" one works like a charm!

Hehehe, you're looking in the wrong place. Don't use the settings in Windows Mobile, but the Settings-TAB in Touchflow (right before the Programs tab). On that Settings-TAB, you'll find a Wallpaper-option.

there is no option to use a wallpaper on other tabs, but maybe someone will find a way, since people are trying to figure out how to tweak/edit manila...

You could be patient! ;) A Manilla Editor has just been released and is being actively work on, then all you need is a purple .tsk theme and a corresponding manilla theme to complete 'the look'... It's all happening and everyone looking for themes is about to get a big surprise (or many!)

You need to be in Touchflo > Settings > Wallpaper. Then you can select the picture you want :)

I know it's a non-issue to most but I'd like to get the best of my Diamond's graphic ability.

The problem is that the same .jpg, .bmp or .png wallpaper that looks perfect in Second Today (or viewed in any other way) appears very blurred when set as the TF3D wallpaper. (Top of pic is ST screengrab)

480 x 640 is the correct resolution but images appear compressed and blurry in manila. Is there any way to improve the wallpaper quality ?

Update
If a wallpaper is applied, then that source file is deleted, it will still show (blurred) after a soft reset.
Does manila convert the image to a qtc file ?
Would this cause the image to deteriorate ?
Would it be possible to place a file into manila that is already sharply converted ?

Mt knowledge isn't advanced enough to say for sure, but I wonder if it's somehow being compressed if it's used for the wallpaper.

from what i've seen, you need to make it the exact size of the screen resolution or you'll get a fuzzy pic when it resizes it.. same thing happens when i used normal photos for photo contacts instead of taking them under the 'contact photo' mode of the camera.. even though they were in hi-res, TF3D messed it up when resizing.. maybe pull out the default manilla wallpaper, and use that exact same size for yours..

The fuzziness still occurs when the wallpaper is at 480 x 640, I've done lots of tests that seem to confirm this.
Unless the true resolution of wallpaper in TF3D is something other than 480 x 640 - but it is still in the same ratio
(as confirmed by the blue box on my original picture - 2 identical boxes were added after taking the grabs).
It looks similar to the compression that occurs when using jpg images in flash.

Hopefully we'll get a definitive answer - even if it is 'put up with it'.
As a bit of a workaround I tend to first sharpen the graphics I put onto the backgrounds.

Has anyone tried backgrounds at 96 dpi ? will test shortly

You need to use an image editor (eg photoshop, gimp) to cut out your logos and drop them onto a suitable background. Here's a quick one for you.
For any photoshop help I recommend good-tutorials.com
