I searched for TWO hours, please help

I want to unlock my att tilt. I searched and tried everything I founf but nothing. I got as far as the STEP 2 where I run the "kaiser-simunlocker" but the screen on my PC shows for a SPLIT SPLIT second and closes. It's suppose to give me some info with the unlock number but it does not.

I have evrything installed that the instruction mentioned like the hardspls and so forth but no success.

What am I missing, can the tilt be SIM unlocked?
If so how, PLEASE SHOW ME THE WAY GUYS!

how about calling your carrier (att) for the sim unlock code? they are required to provide it to you :)

re-read the instructions it can be done oh and make sure you don't have wm6.1 rom when you are running the sim unlocker.

Yes the tilt can be unlocked.. in fact, the post DIRECTLY above yours is called "kaiser sim unlocker".. that might be an interesting place to start. also there is a STICKY called "FAQ" which gives you.... frequently answered questions.... and believe it or not you're not the first person to ask the question " can the tilt be SIM unlocked".... sigh

Man, a word of caution, NEVER use dumbgle to do your searches. Oh, look at what I found, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375583. Is that magic or what? You don't want to get flamed, please read the Wiki. It has all u need. Take this advice.

I recommend you go to the sim unlock thread and post a detailed message about what you have done, step by step, and then see if someone won't help you get the unlocker to work. Posting your questions in the right place makes all the difference in getting answers.

If you mean something is flashing up in a dos window that then closes... it wont close if you run the command in a dos window instead of in windows.

First, thanks to all you guyd that helped! Now, I should have said that I searched and FOUND the answer AND tried everything but it did not work.

I found the unlock kaiser stuff but again, it did NOT work.
I'm not new to rom updates I have been doing this for years. But this tilt has been the hardest to unlock for ME.

I am using wm 6.0 and not the 6.1. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but I WILL check all the suggestions you guys posted and see how it goes. Also, my user name "FLAME ON O2" is just showing I HAD a xda flame O2. I am not trying to say I want to start a flame. I REALLY appreciate that I did not get "do a search lazy jerk" kinda posts. Why people take the time to do that is beyond me. As one of you said " just dont respond" that is what I would do.

Also, I have noticed that most of the guys that have a fit and say to search are usually ones that are on the forums alot. MOST people just dont know what they showed search for or just dont have the time to be on forums as most of us. So to ME, if I know the answer I let them know, big deal, man people seem to have no lifes or just found out they are loosers.

Gosh, help a person and someday someone will help you.

That is not "Unlock SIM Card" - it is to UnBLOCK your SIM card with the PUK (Personal Identification Number Unblocking Key). This is NOT the same thing as SIM unlock. Don't confuse people.

I intended no flame, if not I wouldn't have posted the link. BTW, Flame, a great thing to do would be to state step by step everything you did to present a clear picture. Will go a long way to get quick responses. If I understood your problem, i wouldn't have directed you back to unlock link, so state your problems very clearly. I'll try to help, cos we have an expensive habit.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you're using Vista. Try running the sim unlock utilities as admin. Right click the icon and click run as administrator.

alright ladies how about we all play nice now, search kaiser CID/SIM unlocker and get wm6.1 works in vista, i never got the other one to work right in vista, but that one works fine. i won't link you to a thread but i have provided the perfect keywords for your search. have fun.
