what are you considering low? i didnt check before i installed my autoconfig apps but right now i am sitting at 34MB program & 63.26MB storage free

well, currently im at 3mb storage! its crazy but, i'll list apps ive installed: S2u2, s2V, adobe reader, simulsays (visual voicemail), batterystatus, personalizer (for operator name change), had cingular vid (removed to try and decrease storage), Dan Schuman UL, Ftouchflo and config (i have to have my scroll functionality), sclpc++ and configurator, google maps, taskplus, gullum diamond keys (tried to remove but we all know the deal, its a pain), moBlue, todaygif, htc btquicklink, kaiser tweak, wmwifirouter, wisbar adv 3, setvolume, Live search, todayplugin to use with UL for appts, mortscript, pacman, hibernate, mario sliding sound, minimal dialer, phm reset, PCM contacts and keyboard, weather watcher mobile, flashvideobundle, skyfire, skype, speakerphone, streaming media player, tasks plugin, tomtom, windows live. and i ALWAYS install all these apps and few more to main memory without it getting below 20-30 mb and thats with ifonz installed with all icons saved to the device:) emoze for push email and msnbc mobile. thats about all i cut out and im still low.

and im definitely not complaining cause i can try moving some prog to storage card. i just prefer them in main memory as they all seem to run better and i have lost my memory card before:) the rom will be worth it if i have to move my progs. its the fastest ive tried and thats not a joke. even with all my apps loaded back on its still running smooth as ever

The alpabetical index shows the top line in your contacts. It has nothing to do with the RandomAcces.

Just use TaskManager v3. It's freeware and has an easy import function for the registry.

actually, there was a few that came up as theres a million taskmgr's out there. a link maybe or name. would it be dotfreds that you're referring to?

nevermind, got it. now just trying to use the reg import function. thanks again.

got that too and now the animation works!

last question:) ive tried using att isp but it keeps telling me it cant connect. i ran the disable proxy which i thought only affected the medianet connection anyways, with no luck. i guess im just used to using my isp. but, whats the main difference between medianet and attisp which i assume is taking the place of myisp since those settings are blank. once again, no biggie as i can always just delete these and run my own settings cabs.

This is the EXACT problem which had me go back to the Stock tilt ROM. I have a separate thread with some CABs which are supposed to set back to all AT&T settings.

Would you be willing to run one of those cabs, before you do anything drastic, and see if that solves the problem?

You shouldn't have to change any settings at all, the rom comes preconfigured with the att settings. I haven't had any issues with getting it to connect to anything as of yet?

i can certainly try one of the cabs. and yeah, its just att isp as i already see myisp doesnt have settings entered.

No - this is the problem. Please note - my problem wasn't with Death (which I believe should be proper for AT&T as it is a AT&T ROM) ... my problem was with Dutty's Hybrid, but the problem described is the same problem I had. Cookers are offering AT&T Customizations which are inaccurate.

In Dutty's case, the ROM came configured, *AFTER* accepting the AT&T Settings it offered, with MEdia Net for some things, and MyISP for others. MyISP is NOT a setting which is standard in the U.S.A. (isp.cingulair is a phased out product, so it may still apply to people grandfathered, but those are being sought out to remove). For some reason, the cookers are using this incorrect setting. No matter what I tried, I could not get Dutty's to check email (it would get on the internet sometimes) ... Internet was MEdia Net and email was MyISP. No amount of reconfiguration got it to work, so I bailed.

That is why I sought out the cabs, and hope someone who has this problem tests the cabs. Myself - I resorted back to the stock tilt ROM because of this seemingly more common cooking error.

ahh, okay. I got you. I guess i've never had that problem. I I've always just set both connections to medianet, cause then it always works. I only check my email through wlm and xpressmail so even when i didn't change it, i haven't had any problems with any programs connecting as of yet...which is why i guess i didn't understand what you were getting at.

well, i think shogun got it right in this aspect as he has myisp blank. but, its the attisp i cant get to connect, which after further invstigation is due to it be set up through isp.cingular. so, it really is the same concern that jdmba is having. isp.cingular just doesnt work for everyone, especially me since i have changed the data plan that it did work on previously. but, all i did was edit the attisp settings shogun had already entered and changed isp.cingular to wap.cinguar and not it connects fine. also, my push email through emoze is working fine. so, you may want to give the rom a whirl. you won't be disappointed. small warning, if you normally install a lot of apps, see if you can move some the sd card just tobe safe and not run out of storage memory.

superb rom... fast, stable and nice. No problems here so far.

One quick question though, not sure anyone else ran into this:

using spb mobile shell 2.0 when i hit the power button to wake the phone the phone turns on and than flickers off and than when i hit power button again it completely wakes. Nothing to report as a bug as i think this is probably because of spb mobile shell, just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this.

also @shogunmark is it okay if i extracted the rom and modified some stuff from it (i wanted to remove htc home as i don't need it since i have spb mobile shell along with couple other things). Before i do anything want to make sure i have your permission :). And are the rgu's in there or did you take them out?

I cannot pull up a adobe link on an IE site. I didnt have this problem w/ any of the other version on DEATH. I was curious if there is a fix or a tweak for this problem. I need to get some pricing on the road from time to time. Thanks.

By the way.. I love your roms. They have to be my new favorites on my tilt.

**EDIT**
Restored then disabled proxy and now all is good.

I had this happen with the RyncpprV5 ROM. It also would give a quick flicker when going back to the home screen. I don't have SPB either. I assumed it was the video drivers being worked in.

that would be awesome! please say yes shogunmark:) i would like to remove somethings but i dont know if my expertise is as great as other members and dont want to screw anything up. since im having concerns with memory and also using the flashvideobundle since tcpmp is preinstalled. each time i try to click on one of the sites it says it cant connect. i assume because tcpmp is already there it screws something up. anyways, if you can please pm me and id be glad to help out as this truly is the best rom for your tilt.

Once again guys I'm not trying to be Debbie downer but Radios tend to be location dependent. What works for some may not work well for others. Which is weird but true.

Well, I've had almost the same performance with the 1.65.20.29 - almost to the point where I can't really see a difference.

small warning, if you normally install a lot of apps, see if you can move some the sd card just tobe safe and not run out of storage memory.

Kwill - hopefully you will have the chance to test either of those two CABs to see if that just fixes the problem automatically:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400669

With regard to the warning, a reading of this thread does show that the Death ROM has too many things installed on main memory, so between the AT&T settings (which maybe you can confirm the CAB success) and the lack of room, I am going to wait a while ... at least until Death comes in a lite version (or some of these apps go away). Some Apps need to be in main memory (such as voice command, and to a very slightly lesser extent, SPB Plus and SPB Diary) - the 'fully loaded' nature of this ROM may be an issue.

On my way home last night roughly for 40 minutes of the drive I was using Blue tooth hs on a call, and my phone got super hot, 125 deg F hot. (about 49 c for the rest of the world). Anyone else experiencing this? It's gotten hot on other ROMs while using BT and GPS but never just BT.

I had a similar experience with dutty's diamond rom, except one day my phone just started getting really hot with no bluetooth or GPS, just connected to edge. It also drained my entired battery in less than 4 hours on standby. I couldn't figure out what was causing it, and eventually just flashed the rom again, which fixed the problem. If anyone knows what causes this type of behavior i'd be interested to know.

try this mortscript. make sure you have mortscript 4.1 installed and then just click on the .mscr.

Calendar is my most important app and thumbcal is just not that responsive. Tried running the mortscript and it still loads thumbcal. How can I go back to the default calendar? Thanks.

This is the HTC random access! If you have lots of contacts like me then its nice to be able to pick the letter and go to it!

Right, but whenever I used Alphabetical Indexing before, Random Access disappeared, but now it's staying in the front and not letting me see the rest of the index letters, almost like it refuses to terminate. This wasn't an issue on 3.5 :(

try looking in windows to see if the actual calendar app i still present. if it is you can just create a shortcut to it and still use it. i know the pics and vids app was still in the rom as i had to find it to get my today background to stop being transparent.

I agree with this. I found them very similar in performance. I am in London in the UK on 3. (H3G) and for both I am getting about 550 kbps using the http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed test.

There is already a lite version that is unreleased, i was waiting to see what kind of bugs we had with the full version... my thought process was to build a rom that a wide variety of things worked on, then when all the bugs are ironed out then strip it and release a lite version....

I will check on the my isp setting because i took all the internet settings from mxip updates, there was no cab used for the install, this is why the hard coded proxy is on by default.

as far as the high temp problems, anytime you are running alot of things, like data connection, with phone call, with BT then you are going to have excessive drain on the battery and cause the phone to get hot, also having it sit on your dash or in the sunlight adds to the problem.

I went to make a call just a few minutes ago and got a white screen with no keypad. The pad is there, I just can't see it. I'm going to reboot and see if that fixes the problem.

Nope, rebooting didi not fix it. I tried installing Black_V2_Dialer_Skin posted here, but while it installed my dialer is still the same white with no visible keypad.

If I can't fix it, I'll have to remove the beta from my phone as I really need to be able to dial a number now and again. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can avoid that?

Ah, well thanks to skatdawg I have a dialer (DxC_IPhone_Dialer_Black_WWE_v3c_smartdial) that works and can continue to use the ROM.

So anyone else having this problem with the built-in dialer?

Anyone know why Opera Mini always freezes with these new builds/os coming out? Especially when using quickmenu (a must i think). Say ur using opera mini, u get a text so the message pops up asking to dismiss or view, click dismiss, opera mini is now frozen. Try to minimize opera with ok button then press the windows button on thumb pad to open quickmenu, click opera, screen is still frozen and have to play this a few times to get it unstuck again. This happens every time and it sucks. Even when not getting a text, just say u want to minimize opera then maximize and now its stuck. So dang annoying with these new builds. Any ideas people?

Ill drop a PM to A_C and see if i can get him to add apptodate support to his programs. According to paul at modaco its pretty easy. Then we can all get updates for s2p, s2u2, and S2V automatically.

Every time i go to the phone settings, try to change a setting and click ok, then the phone settings window doesn't respond anymore. If i click the windows button then it goes to the start screen, so not the pda but the settings window just freezes. Another time everything freezes and only a soft reset helps.

Anyone else have this?

Also, if i wait a few minutes i get the band window with the warning that gsm/utms band can't be changed. If i click there on ok, it doesn't respond either, if i click on the button on the device on ok it doens't respond either. Clicking on ok under the scrollweel on the left doesn't help either, it stays freezed. Worse is, the window keeps on the foreground. When i go to today screen or open another program the freezed smaller window stays on the foreground the whole time.

If i click the ok button a few minutes after that, the ok button seems to respond, but the window doesn't go away, if i click the ok button on the device the ok button doesn't respond at all. Weird!

I had to soft reset more then 10 times within 20 minutes because of this. The last time i tested it longer without soft reset but without result.

I tried the V2 rom a while ago and feeled like this was a fast rom, but this is a hard problem to live with hmm.... however, thanks to shogun for the feel of a faster device when i tested V2 for a while ;)

Any ideas people?

it works fine when it comes minimizing on my end. my minmizes though just consists of hitting the red end button which takes me back to my today screen. from there i just hit task mgr and opera mini is back up. having really observed it during a text though

Ill drop a PM to A_C and see if i can get him to add apptodate support to his programs. According to paul at modaco its pretty easy. Then we can all get updates for s2p, s2u2, and S2V automatically.

man, that would be awesome! and honestly shogunmark, this is the first time ive seen apptodate put in a rom, which is really cool. do you think it would be good(since you cooked the rom) if you asked the developers of each app that you have included and are possible to reach, to add their apps to apptodate? that way you could kind of advertise the great program that was created and included with your rom? i think its a really big plus to have apptodate now i know what the functionality entails! just a thought:)

I tried the V2 rom a while ago and feeled like this was a fast rom, but this is a hard problem to live with hmm.... however, thanks to shogun for the feel of a faster device when i tested V2 for a while ;)

i just tested it and it works for me. i went in to the phone settings and changed the way my phone rings and took off automatic time zone. then exited and the window went away. went back in and the phone settings page loaded and i changed the settings

Hi,

Sorry that i didn't mention it, but it seems the problem is only when i try to change the band. After changing it to gsm only, i tried it now to only change the network type to gsm and then clicking on ok, but i got thesame problem then. I thought maybe gsm band had a conflict, but it also is a problem if i only change network type to gsm.

Edit: it seems i made it work!!! for anyone with thesame problem: change it first from automatic to WCDMA, click ok, let it change the network setting, go to the settings again, then change it from WCDMA to GSM, that did it for me, so it seems.

Edit 2: i tried to change the band setting again just to test this, turned the phone off, then back on, now the phone can't come on again :-(. If i go to the phone settings i got the message to turn on the phone, i click yes, then nothing happens. If i go to the comm manager and put the phone on there, only the wait cursor for a moment, and then it off again, clicking it again and it stays off again.

Maybe my radio version? i have 1.65.20.29

To stop this from happening you need to install a jbed java version ending in 2.1. not 3.1.. The newer versions of java do this.. Il attach a cab of what you need.

The file you need to run for the default calender is calendar.exe. It can be found in the windows folder. The ROM is set to thumbcal by default. Create a link to calendar.exe in windows/startmenu/programs and your set.

As far as the java thing.. i dont see me cooking in a downgraded java when the opera mini app itself needs to be updated. Personally i hate java and am half tempted just to rip it out! Not sure why people would install opera mini when opera 9 is already on here... im sure its just personal preference!

i'll tell you the only reason i don't use opera 9 exclusively. because i'm stuck in an area with no 3g, and opera mini is WAY faster. but when i'm on wifi then it's opera 9 all the way.

Opera mini is way faster and so easy to control just using the thumb keys instead of always touching the screen, zoom in, zoom out, etc. Maybe just leave java out then so we can install which ever version we want or not at all. Thanks shogunmark for taking this into consideration!

Hi,

Today i tried to put another radio in it, 1.65.16.25 and i still have thesame problem, if i want to change the band from auto to gsm it freezes. Just going to the phone settings and go to the band tab can cauze a screen delay of more then 5 seconds.

All other things i did works very good and fast, yesterday i played a youtube video over wifi and the result was very good!.

While i'm typing this i got the band warning again that changing the band is not possible at the moment, this took more then 5 minutes.
I don't have screen lag on other things, just have problems on the band tab in phone settings. When not changing the band everything is ok, and the connection seems to be good also but i need it to change it to gsm band.

Edit: with radio rom 1.65.16.25 it seems i don't need to do a reset anymore, since i now need to wait about 5 minutes till the error comes and the display problem is gone, in the previous radio the window would stay on the foreground until i reset the device. With this rom i don't have the problem that the window stays on the foreground until a reset. Changing it first from auto to umts, and then from umts to gsm seems the best way to solve this at the moment since that takes a few seconds and that seems to work.

I also had the problem that i couldn't turn the phone off and back on, this seems also to be solved with radio rom 1.65.16.25. There still are problems with changing the band but it's better... . Maybe it's because i'm not on att?, i'm from Belgium. Anyone have an idea for the best radio rom in Belgium?

Greetings,

Steve

Yes, java script works with 3.5. I tested it again last night with a friends phone. Hotmail.com and other sites work great with 3.5 but not 4.1. I wonder if the netfront browser installed something in the windows directory that enabled JS to work with Opera?

Using the Google search function, I found that Noonski posted a fix for the HTC Home backlight adjustment. I just followed his steps and got it working:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1572368&postcount=120

It's short, so I'll also copy and paste the instructions here:

Copy HTCUtil.dll from windows folder (don't remove it) to SD card, rename it to HTCUti1.dll and then overwrite the HTCUti1.dll that HTChome installs into windows. Be sure to disable HTCHome first then reenable.

Perhaps shogunmark could bake this fix into the next release of this most excellent ROM.

Hi Kwill,

It could be the problem that Skype is on a SD card, in the past i had several programs that freezed and had to reset the device, when i replaced to the internal memory the problem was gone (i have a program that can move programs to the internal memory from SD card, or from internal memory to SD card, every time a program freezed on the SD card i moved it to the internal memory and the problem was gone). No uninstall, install again needed.

Hi Kwill,

The program is Pocket Mechanic pro, the function is not called move but Relocate ;).

You have also the option to update registry references, shortcut references, .unload files. And you can relocate installed software (applications, wich i use the most), relocate date (email, cache,...) and relocate folders. And it can do many other usefull stuf ;-). One notice though: you can also defragment your SD card, but i would advice to not do that, defragmenting your SD card will make many wright cycles and it would decrease the life of your SD card, and the performance is not much better like you would see from hard drives.

The relocate function works very good because i didn't have any problem with several programs.

Edit: some other functions of the program are finding duplicate files, recover bad sectors, search the large files, find invalid shortcuts, registry cleanup, slack analysis, card benchmark, scan disk, free ram, card information, and it shows the cpu usage, while you could see the cpu usage will be around 37% if you keep your stylus or finger on the screen, and goes up to 100% when sliding the scrollbar. The cpu usage would be much higher, around 70% in the original rom.

Greetings,

Steve

Yeah there are some roms that it does run on, the hybrid being one of them. Like i said, i'm only repeating what i've heard, but it has something to do with the actual kaiser builds that causes the problems. They really need to just fix skype anyway though, so in the long run it's better for us if it just doesn't work at all so they'll have to :) especially now that there are "official" builds out as they wouldn't even look at the problem until an "official" version was available.

I think this actually has something to do with the internet connection settings cooked in. Mine was working perfect for about a day. Then all of a sudden it stopped. Overall this ROM is great. I have a few small issue I want to put out there just in hopes that someone has a solution, or it can be fixed in a future release.

- Sometimes have to push the button twice to get out of standby. Others have mentioned this already, just speaking up to say I see it too.

- Occasionally, the today screen will say notification in the bottom left corner, but won't pop-up when I click it, and only goes away with a soft reset. This has also happened with email. I will see that I have email, but can't get the email to come up until I reset.

- last issue is with Pocket Digital Clock from ProjectION. I can not get it to use a custom font. I have used it with several other ROMs and never had this happen. I have done full uninstall/reinstall but it did not help.

Even with the issues I listed, still the best ROM I have used to date. can't wait for a final (although nothing seems to be final around here)

also, incase it helps, I am using a Att tilt.

I don't think it's something you need to do all the time, i have done it just once (run restore then remove proxy) and it seemed to fix whatever the glitch was. a do agree however, that if it was a constant requirement then it would be really annoying. I just leave the proxy enabled so i can use medianet to check my minutes and such...since that's about it's good for IMO

Just an FYI, I reflashed the ROM today after reverting to HTC 6.1 stock ROM because I could not sync. That turned out to be a problem with my server not the ROM.

But I was able to verify that the dialer would not display the keypad regardless of whether ClearType was enabled or not. I had to install a new dialer (from 3.5) to dial a phone number.

Also, I used AptoDate to update the applications. It installed new shortcuts in different folders. So, I uninstalled the updates. That left the original shortcuts, but no applications associated with them. So all the updated applications that were removed, except for App2date no longer function.

Problem - I can't seem to get rid of it. Only a soft reset helps. (think its roaming mode?) - anyone know how to go about fixing this? Facing this problem in v3.5 now i'm seeing it happen on 4.1 (but far less).

Can't help but notice that sometimes when my phone loses signal and recovers, there's his triangle at the top where the battery / signal indicator is at the today screen.

Problem - I can't seem to get rid of it. Only a soft reset helps. (think its roaming mode?) - anyone know how to go about fixing this? Facing this problem in v3.5 now i'm seeing it happen on 4.1 (but far less).

Thanks

Some other people have experienced this issue also. I haven't experienced it as of yet. What radio are you using right now ?

Thanks for replying... I'm using radio 1.65.16.25.

Daren't flash any others as i'm not based in the US or on AT&T's network.

Wonder is it due to the ROM being AT&T based that's why its reacting this way (for other users that are on other networks).

So all the updated applications that were removed, except for App2date no longer function.

showed up fine for me. maybe one of those "bad flashes" :)

I don't have the losing signal problem, but i have the triangle, you're right it's a roaming indicator. Not sure why i have it since it's an AT&T rom, but it just figured it didn't matter all that much.

I'm just about to flash this ROM, but thought I'd mention that I experienced this on the Dutty's ROM that I am currently using. I would always check to confirm whether I was roaming but was always on the att network. I think that it might be what spectrum you are connecting to, but ot is only a guess . . .

Ok.. besides the ROM, i've set my phone to be on GPRS / Edge only. 3G is totally turned off. So its not an isolated issue since its happening to dutty's as well..

Maybe hear from the rest first before concluding..

First off, been flashing ROM's since november, this is the best one I've used so far. Super fast, and I like that it is not a "lite" version, TONS of new things to fiddle with and keep me occupied.

One thing tho, GPS connection. I am an ATT user in Dallas, TX, and no matter what radio I use, after sitting there for 2 minutes with 4+ satelites being green, there is still no GPS fix. Sometimes, after waiting a good 5 minutes i'll get a fix, but i mean really, sitting in the parking lot for 5 min telling your friend "wait...wait.... i wanna show u this cool GPS thing on my phone....but it's got to get a lock first....just another minute....."

What do yall use to test the GPS? I tried shoguns VisualGPS, and also installed GPSTest too.

What baud rate to u use for the GPS? I usually just leave it at 9600.

**EDIT***
The radio's I have tried are
1.65.14.06
1.65.20.29
1.58.25.17
1.65.16.25

I not sure if anyone else is having this problem but i have noticed 2 things. First power button resume from sleep takes 2 pushes as first time it flashes then turns screen off again. Also when exiting from explorer it automatically changes itself to landscape mode. Other then those great rom so far. Now if i could find out why yahoo mail half the time doesnt accept the password.

What i experience is the rare occasional issue with Opera randomly being STUCK in landscape mode until i have to rotate the screen on my own.

Yes, the 2 pushes of power thing does occur for me as well. As for the browser password, i'm not sure, i don't encounter that as i've installed a .cab provided with v3.5 to make sure my keyboard functions fine.

I'm not sure how the rest of you guys run your GPS. Oddly, in this way, i notice the lock / reception seems a wee bit faster than having QuickGPS enabled.

I was on stock HTC rom also before, notice it takes really long to lock even with QuickGPS enabled & updated.

Hi, I have been looking around and can't find anything on this bug....couple post above mentions it too so I know it's not just mine....turning power on the screen flashes and then shuts off and have to hit the power button again....I just finished installing the files to make it look like the Diamond screens and have to say it is running sweet. Here is a link to pics and files if your interested in doing the same....

Hmmm, that's weird. It doesn't seem to do anything for me. I'll play around with it some more.

On a side note, I'm still getting the volume silencing bug on this ROM. Just like every other ROM, though. It definitely has something to do with Bluetooth.

Been using this ROM and it works great for me but noticed something that I'm not sure if it because of the ROM or something else.

Battery readings seem to drop and charge in drastic amounts. For example, I notice the phone will charge slowly in 1 or 2% increments up to like 80% and then it seems to jump to 100%. I'm not doing anything with the phone when it is charging only ActiveSync.

When it is in use and discharding, it seems to drop in large amounts. For example, it'll say 70 or 75% and then before it'll drop to less than 50%. I generally notice this after a quick call.

Any ideas?

I could be wrong - but here is what I have on this ROM -
On the top bar right now it shows an E in a square box - I believe that this is telling me that I am on the Edge network at that speed.

To the right of that I have the "triangle and directly under that I have 4 bars - I believe that the 4 bars indicates the strength of the phone signal that I am receiving.

The triangle indicates that I am NOT connected to the internet. If I do something that tries to connect to the internet (get email etc) then it goes to an E and then the first square also goes up to H and then I get an H where the triangle was as well. While ithe E replaces the triangle there are left and right arrows that go back and forth where the 4 bars WERE to show that it is connecting to the "internet".

So - again - I might be misunderstanding you with the "triangle" that you see - but I am quite sure that the triangle that I see is an indicator of an iternet connection.

Since that is what it is on MINE I do NOT want the triangle to go away except when I am wanting a data connection. So it is NOT broken. My guess is that it was working GREAT on 3.5 and when you upgraded to 4.1 you did not tell it to drop your data connection or you told it to drop it less often?

I have this problem when I have the screen open and am in horizontal mode. Clear Type is NOT enabled - it does not seem to affect it.

This and the pushing the power button and the screen flashes and then turns off so that you have to push it again to get it to come on are the biggest issues that I have with this ROM. (minor stuff)

Now that you mention it - I think it was in IE - I went there to get a wider screen for the browser - had issues and could not log in to a site cause I could not see the keystrokes. I remembered seeing that someone else had had an issue with Clear type or not seeing typing in horizontal mode so I just dismissed the problem and went back to normal vertical mode.

I searched ineffectively for a way to make it work and gave up. Do you know how to fix it?

In advanced config or kaisertweaks, you can disable cleartype in internet explorer. That setting is independent of the other cleartype settings. YOu should check there. I thought that might be the cause. Hope that fixes it.

I have several XP Pro computers that I "internet share" periodically. All I have to do is to click on Start>Programs>Web>Internet Sharing
I select USB and Media Net and all is well with the world. I don't share a lot of data - simply some emergency emails etc. But it works.

I have a new laptop that has VISTA on it - I have syncing working (I REALLY LIKE Windows Mobile Center for syncing - truly sweet).

I cannot for the life of me get internet sharing to work. I find LOTS of threads with other devices saying that they cannot get it to work - some say that they re-installed Vista and it worked - this is a brand new Sony and I really don't want to re-install the operating system as I am pretty sure that is not the problem.

Does anyone use VISTA to internet share and what tricks did you use to get it to work?

I am posting this in the ROM that I am using thread because that is the internet share that I am using and it works on XP?

The symptoms that I get are:
1. I click on connect and it greys out
2. I hear a faint "boink" from VISTA but nothing shows up and I get no internet connection.
Thanks in advance,

(I'm aware this has been discussed in other places, but there does not seem to be a general solution, and I'm wondering if you'll have any specific ones to this ROM)

-Thanks

Humm, here in south indiana the GPS reception is very good and a very fast lock with that radio. Has your problem been long term or just a day or two?

Finally a Rom that works. I've tried all the good roms out there and this is by far amazing. Great speed clear voice using radio 165.20.29. The phone is what the original tilt was with superb voice clarity. You did a fantastic job on this rom. I'm running Tom Tom and cold it takes about 2 minutes but starts right up when warm sart. I love all the software that was with the rom. The music sound is the best I have encountered and I'm picky. Keep up the great work. You are the best Rom Chef out there. I'll send you something to show my appreciation. Thanks so much

I've noticed that without fail, my bluetooth headset will cut out if I'm on a call and plug the phone into power. I have to end the call, and call again. The headset works fine as long as I start the call after I've already plugged it into power. Is anyone else having this issue?

While on call and this happens - In call Press - Menu - Turn On Hands Free -
That will reactive your BT with out having to end the call.

Hmmm, that's weird. It doesn't seem to do anything for me. I'll play around with it some more.

On a side note, I'm still getting the volume silencing bug on this ROM. Just like every other ROM, though. It definitely has something to do with Bluetooth.

has anyone found a fix for this? I definitely agree that it relates to BT, but absent a SR, no way to get sound back once it happens.

Ok, first time I've seen this. If I put an entry into my desktop calendar (Outlook 2003) and sync with my device, no problem. If I put a calendar entry into my device, Support Code 1 error and not sync. Searched, but couldn't find a fix. Tried Shogun's calendar cab (thinking it might be Thumbcal) no fix.

Anyone seen this before? I did a few searches and nothing similar came up but maybe I picked the wrong search terms. Any help is appreciated!

Edit: searched extensively to no avail. Any help out there?

I think that he's waiting for a new build from AT&T that doesn't have the backlight issue. No point in releasing a new rom with the same bugs after all.

well, flahed Duttys Hybrid, and all was good. Reflashed Death V4 and problem returned immediately. Switched over to L26 KaiserDiamond V9 and problem resolved. NO FRIGGIN IDEA WHY. Thanks DWNY for the help, though. I suspect that my Exchange Server has something against Shogunmark.

I hope we see Death V5 soon. L26 seems good now, but the Death was the DEATH!!:D

First I love this ROM. I installed it right after it hit the site. I had no issues running it at all. I was able to use the camera fine. Recently ATT upgraded the towers near my home to 3g from the edge network. I noticed way faster internet speed after this but also notice my camera and my and gps no longer work.
Today I installed the most recent version of the ROM, the SPL that came with it, and tried reinstalling the 1.65.20.29 radio. No luck using the camera. I tried the Neon radio someoen suggested , the 1.58.25.17. No luck with the camera. I have tried a couple other radios with no luck. So I am now back on the 1.58.25.27. I was having battery issues on 3g with the .20.29 radio. My battery only lasts about 3 hours on that radio.

Any suggestions?

To be 100% honest, I'd say flash L26 V9 for now. It is one of the more stable and snapier ROMS out there. Trust me when I say that I love this ROM and hated moving awya from it (MS Exchange issue forced me to) but L26 V9 is pretty nice too. And when the Death V5 ROM comes our way (soon I hope) come back. Just MHO . . .

i agree L26 v.9 has been on my phone a few weeks now, very solid and snappy ROM with no major issues

I'm on L26V9 now but miss my death ROM. I'm lazy and shogunmark really has preloaded many of the apps I like.

My problems with death 4.1 have been with the charging light getting disabled somehow with no amber or green when power is hooked up. It may be due to overloading of my car lighter power plug and it cant keep up with wifi, bright screen, wififofum running. Every so often I dont hear calls which is irritating...not shure whats up with that and dont know if I"m causing it or the phone is doing something weird. Also, the disable proxy never seems to stick which is irritating. Another issue I have is youtube wont work out of IE (through tcmp). Only way to watch youtube is to use the youtube player thats included but clickin on email links wont take you to the player that works...

Looking forward to whatever shogunmark comes up with next. Oh, I did like the boot screen of the romeo rom which I tried for a day. The boot screen was persistent until L26V9 put the anima guy on there..LOL

Thanks Shogunmark for posting this fine work.
I really like this rom. The main reason I flashed it (and hardspl3.56, and radio1.65.20.29) was the dual networking feature. I'm stuck using blackberry connect (ver 4.0.0.100) and the dual networking feature is a big deal for me.

It did not seem to work out of the box. If I go on medianet from PIE my BBC connection is dropped, and vice versa. From what I have read I shouldn't have to change anything since it is cooked into the ROM. if I'm wrong about this, please let me know.

When I looked at the AGPSNVSETTING it was 6. I thought that it was supposed to be 5 for dual networking to work. do I need to hard reset to get the config xmls to run again, or is it not enabled in 4.1?

I don't want to switch, but while I'm hacking around I'm not stopping until I get dual networking going.
any help is greatly appreciated.

Wes

I've tried many ROMS since this one and keep coming back because it just works and works pretty well and, has some cabs installed that were neat that I've never seen before.

one problem I do have is that if I switch to "large button" mode in the com manager the comm manager screen isnot displayed correctly. Anyone else?

I'm in the same boat. My dumb company kicked my off the exchange server and forced me to use BBC. I've also tried the same registry tweak to no avail. I really like this ROM and don't want to switch so I'm dealing with it right now. Please let me know if you do get dual networking working.

What I have heard is that he is waiting for a new "base" ROM and since none have been released that fix the background flashing issue that he is going to wait.

I have not seen any posting from him in some time on any forum - so - no positive knowledge at this point - like you - also anxiously waiting - but I have decided that I WILL wait and not flash any other ROMs ;).

Me too shogun....I'm using your ROM and even with its few faults (comm manager screen screws up when you change screen modes in adv config, disable proxy doesnt seem to stick, two presses on power button for wake up), I keep coming back because it just seems to fit me right.

I got my youtube working through IE with the proper version of tcmp and flashvideobundle and I added battery status to see my milliamps usage, and my power problem is my charger not able to keep up with the phones power demands when running wififofum (man this phone can be an energy hog!!) I'm using the new EMO radio and, in my non-3G area, it seems to be the best reception/performance and on par with energy usage with other good radios.

Shogunmark has been MIA since July 22. Must be on vacation.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him put out a new one after this AT&T rom is actually released. He did say he's been working on one awhile ago, so i guess for now patience is a virtue while we wait for him to have time to hook us up.

You can use Kaiser Tweak to enable the tab.

Under HTC Application enable Music Tab.

Great ROM - definately fills the void I felt when Dutty stopped cooking!!

Only one question, though - I have an AT&T Tilt, but some time ago, I had to replace the keyboard - the only one I could find was a standard HTC, which has many of the symbols in different locations than the Tilt.

Since you cooked this ROM specifically for AT&T users, I'm assuming that this CAB was included in the ROM as well - however, I actually need to uninstall it.

Any advice on how to do that? Or, is there a CAB that will turn my currently recognized AT&T keyboard into the default HTC keyboard layout?

Thanks!!

If you read the thread you will find that the master has gone silent and the beta version of the latest was never released.

Not sure why "it is too old to keep on using it".

It does what it did when you purchased the phone and that was adequate when you bought it right? I agree that I would have loved the latest version as well and wish I could talk him out of retirement - but - into everyone's life a little rain must fall and this is our thunderstorm. ;)

My friend sorry i didn't notice master was gone to silence & i understand your point ... but don't misundestanding me, i don't saying death rom is bad.. in fact, was the best rom i've ever try, specially with networking issue (wmodem program) that solve a conection issue to a bunch of people (including me) whose internet conection at work is denied or limited by company's policy. What i ment by ROM "too-old" is the speed & performance of new 6.5's hybrid roms & usageof 3d drivers compared with death 4.

Agreed - No issues connecting with/to MediaNet with 5.4, but that is a very carefully worded statement. I too have no problem connecting that single specific setup way either!!!

Let me ask this. Are you able to set up 5.4Beta so that: if there is WiFi enabled and running, it will do all Email through Wifi, and if no WiFi, then it will enable the Cell Modem (GPRS, etc) and get your email through MEdiaNet? That certainly was the situation out of the box on v4.5, and I believe is broken in the 5.4Beta.

I suspect this has a lot to do with MyISP (something no longer present in the connection setup), but I certainly could be wrong. Actually, the missing MyISP is more of an issue when it comes to things that seem to want to poll it, including the necessary GPSTest v1.04. If you run it, it will poll MyISP (for some reason), and fail. You then dismiss the connectivity error.

I believe these are the same bug, and if this bug were not present, all the other bugs in the ROM would be more livable (e.g., the built in office game freezes the phone once you finish requiring a soft reboot), etc.

This is too bad because it is a much cleaner ROM, and offers some very nice features (such as downloading email headers first and then downloading their bodies).

I always had let it connect via medianet HSDPA to download my email.

That may be why the bug remained present in the last beta. This bug was not present in the released death (so it would pull from WiFi if enabled, and the cell modem/internet if not). Oh well.
