Left hard button doesnt work in thumbcal, however tapping the screen does work. I dont think this is a bug with the rom, i believe the actual app worked this way.

Ringtone File Size Limit Hack

I noticed that we could not use ringtones larger than 600k, not a problem for most, but it is a simple fix for the couple of us that care about such things. Here's the hack:

Thanks for the advice! I knew that 1.58.11.07 wouldn't work but matching radios to builds these days seems important and I have been following the radio nuances. I can't wait to see how this works!

guys I have tried SRS wow on many roms and it makes the sound lower than it is...even if you uncheck it, it is still lower than before.with out it, the sound is much higher..since there is a cab for it, .so is there anyway to uninstall it Mark?

Still have the annoying sip keyboard pop up in landscape mode when the device keyboard is out and the cursor is in a box to type. Goes away after pressing first key on hardware keyboard but still very annoying. Got the temp fix from someone here on the 3.5 version but that fix disables the sip keyboard altogether, i just dont need it poping up every time in landscape mode, thats what the hardware keyboard is for. Also, screen change from portrait to landscape is slightly slower i think. Didnt get to test much yet but this is what ive found so far. Love the rest of the rom and the new colorful app icons! Great job on this one! Hopefully when can get this sip keyboard to only work in portrait mode as it should, very annoying.

WiFi bug confirmed.
Changing SIP does seem to work fine with ZoomBoard.
You need the keyboard fix to change the ! to @ for none Tilt users.
Gsxmarks give me the same 1588 score like other ROM's around here.

Confirming Wifi bug, I have not been able to enable the wireless radio.

Otherwise, I'm loving it. TouchCalendar is awesome, didn't expect that to be included as an Outlook calendar replacement. It desperately needs a week-view and appointment categories though.

Downloaded and installed the indicated file, TNETW1251.dll to my Windows directory as instructed in post #2. No luck, WiFi radio still will not turn on.

Tried re-running Connection Setup (the Wizard), still no luck.

Enjoying everything else, I'm sure our resident RoninMarcus will fix things up soonish.

The good news is that WiFi seems to work correct on the Polaris that uses the same build from the Kaiser.

First issue sounds like an ActiveSync issue to me depending on whether you're using WinXP or Vista...all my installs are done via cabs to avoid exactly such issues...
Second issue: why don't you install one of the Manila or iPhone dialers found on these forums?

this is the first rom i ever flashed i like it alot but i think im going to have to switch to v3.5 until some the wifi thing is fixed. but the sip keyboard does pop out everytime im in landscape mode and using opera like the other guy said, the only game i tried didnt work in landscape and wouldnt let me exit i had to soft reset to get out, my weather was working last night as well and now no longer is well thats all i have seen so far.

I have already stripped the OS and flashed and verified that the wifi works... no im going to start the painstaking process of adding everything piece by piece and flashing at each step of the way. But have no fear, im on it, and my 2yr old is helping me :D

So, used this today testing this and that. After some minor sip complications (moust works, some didnt) I ended up using radio 1.65.20.29 calling and texting stuff... Conclution is good rom, just not in EU hahah. Got some nice features, really like the youtube player. That kicked ass, and I am sure we will see it around on other roms. So AT&T users enjoy, I had my share fun testing it. But as an European I carry on :D

Mark, I did notice that the default for the WiFi card under it's connection setting was "My network card connects to -> Work" rather than "My network card connects to -> The Internet," not sure if this has any bearing on our pesky WiFi issue. Perhaps some setting (or missing setting) with the dual networking setup might be to blame?

Mark, I did notice that the default for the WiFi card under it's connection setting was "My network card connects to -> Work" rather than "My network card connects to -> The Internet," not sure if this has any bearing on our pesky WiFi issue. Perhaps some setting (or missing setting) with the dual networking setup might be to blame?

I see many is asking about weather, I manage to use SPB weather panel (traveler) and Spb weather. The service could be unstable today? Anyways, try running IE in background. Couldnt get it to work whit 3g but edge was working.

I have determined that i have a corrupt package that is screwing the rom up... i have about half of them loaded with no issues, working on the back half now. I did try to just load them all since i verified wifi is working, and it creates a bad nbh.

So im halfway there.

Also since wifi is screwed up it is possible that its causing a gps problem also...

Ok here is something that I haven't had occur before. When my phone is asleep and I push the power button to wake it up, sometimes it wakes and instantly goes back to sleep. If I then hit the power button again it comes right on. It only happens if I let the phone go to sleep on its timeout. Not sure if this happens in stock ATT rom or not, flashing it now to try it out. Looks like 3.5 may be a keeper even with backlight issue.

I just really love this rom, i keep flashing all the new ones, but none of them seem to feel as good. Got a couple questions that maybe someone knows the answer to.

1) When i turn the screen off then my wifi gets disconnected, i have tried enabling wifi standby in kasiertweaks, but it still shuts off when the screen is turned of. On other roms this has not been a problem. The only reason i've recently come across this issue is that i frequently am in areas where there is no cell reception, but i have wifi, so i would like to be able to stay connected on my email, IM, etc without leaving the screen on the whole time.

2) I am curious why i have a roaming icon at the top of my screen, since this is an att rom. I mean i know i'm not roaming, and i don't get the triangle on a stock rom, but i have on all custom roms. I always assumed it was related to using an HTC build instead of an AT&T

unfortunately there is no actual fix in this case that can be installed. Looks like the stripped down baserom i used was bad, at some point it got corrupted in the kitchen and i didnt know it till everyone reported the problem. I had to start over from scratch (sadly im getting good at this, lol) when i dont like something i scrap it and start over.

The comm manager problem was reported and the fix that was given was an added exception to the task manager so it could be closed completely from there!

comm manager hasn't popped open once for me unless I open it, other than that it stays where it should.

when i feel the rom is stable enough remove the beta from it, then i will make a lite release! Believe it or not, its easier to work backwards with these. Most chefs you will see a full release first then a clean release!

Sorry, I should have specified that this was not an issue w/ version 4, but something that i just discovered with all the previous versions. I actually reflashed v1, v2, v3, v3.5 yesterday and they all had that problem with the wifi, though that is the only issue i've had with it. I'll flash the version 4.1, and see if it's fixed on this new build. It was more just a general questions as to whether people had noticed this issue.

Also, anybody have an answer about the second question?

the video play much faster
and the ms word open faster than htc

I think you had the wrong rom then, the "death" roms are geared towards at&t service users. these roms come with at&t network, mms and keyboard settings default. I love his roms because they gives me the best network speed of any rom I've used; I get close to 1700kbps average, the closest I've seen was a peak of a little over 1200kbps on L26 v5, once I got that speed on L26 I never saw it again!.

Superb ROM. Now that im on 4.1 I think everything is fixed. I found no issues as of yet. Ill edit them into this post if i run across any.

For those that care the new spb backup upgrade mode is absolutely awesome. Well worth the investment. It reinstalls all apps and dosent overwrite system files so fixes stay intact.

Shogun could I trouble you to upload the rest of the dialer graphics from the package. I had great results with the background. Id like to see what I can do with the rest of the dialer.

I'm in the New York area and I use www.dslreports.com to check my mobile speed. on their site just go to tools>mobile speed test and see what speeds you get, I get good speeds on the 1.65.20.29 radio

Some of them will update with apptodate. Give it a run now and then and it will update them for you. It works with all modaco software and an evergrowing list of third party apps. You can get a full list on modacos site.

No problem, I always keep a copy of "Business Time" by flight of the concords on my storage card to test the video programs out, because it makes me laugh mostly...and then i know whether i can use youtube (assuming i'm ever somewhere with 3G)

I noticed a couple of my ringtones aren't showing up in the list, and it's either because they're the full song, or because they're wma files. I'm not sure, but i can't remember where in the registry i to check that. If nobody does i'm sure i'll find it eventually by searching, just takes awhile to find what you're looking for ringtone edits :P

Yeah, i shot shogun a PM just to let him know too. I'm sure it was just an oversight. I guess it happens when have to tear it apart and rebuild it over and over. Plus i think most people wouldn't even notice. If you check the link, or post #10 there is a cab file akdonny made that will change this too. I put that in my cabs, just in case i ever need it too.

Seems whenever sip keyboard gets a chance to pop up it does when using an app that you would type in. Happens all the time when your in landscape mode with the hardware keyboard out. Sip keyboard disappears as soon as you type something from the hardware keyboard so its not too much of a problem, just a big annoyance.

When I ran KaiserTweak, the animated splash was disabled by default. Try turning the option back on and see if that fixes it.

so overall the rom is really fast and stable. screen rotation when flipping out the keyboard is fast as well. network settings and connectivity are definitely improved. the only concern im having is my storage memory being low. i cant finish installing apps and really i didnt look to see what it was at after a fresh flash. anyone else noticing low storage memory?

Confirming that installing updated 4.1 ROM worked like a charm. Wifi, Bluetooth both working perfectly now. Zero issues here at present.

I had a issue with it in v3 after a few soft resets it just started working. I think it has some issues because no animation is cooked in.

It doesn't say uncheck the proxy. It says "run disable proxy" which is in programs-->tools-->Proxy Manager-->disable proxy

Hes come so far with this one and just a few flaws like this exist. Another bug is the missed calls tab on htc home doesnt direct you to your missed calls, just to the call log in general. Greatly appreciate your hard work here shogunmark and love all the extra apps you always include in ur roms that no one else does and your added touch to the icons. Really makes your roms stand out from others!

yeah, if you perform certain steps in sequence.

make a call
use the keypad
then click back to call status

Many people don't often encounter that being a problem, and like to have the speed dialer, so it's really just a matter of personal preference. I've only had the dialer lock up on me when i was doing it on purpose, as i rarely go back and forth between the screens while talking.

It actually has a lot to do with these new roms from htc & att having a lot less space available to begin with. Apparently they reserved more of the space for some system functions that you can't reallocate the space.

I have experienced this problem with several 6.1 ROMS, but have never mentioned it before since it is rare and certainly minor. When playing a game of Hearts, if it is at the point to pick three card and I close the application, I loose the "Pass ..." button. In the middle of a hand, everything works fine. I have also noticed a weird square beside a random opponent name when I return.

I have only found two workarounds, either restart the game, which sucks. Or you can hit the soft/hard keyboard ENTER key.

BTW, early in this thread some have praised both the NEON and the 20.29 radios, but later there was only mention of the 20.29. I have not had any problems with the NEON, but is the 20.29 better for AT&T Tilt in GA?

Ok so i loaded the 214 ROM to see if it has this same issue. Installed all of my apps and it doesn't have the problem.

After using the 214 stock ROM all day I was able to replicate the trouble there also. It seemed less frequent but it very well is there.

Downloaded your 4.1 Rom and it is even better than 3.5.
It is really fast and lots of new features.

There are two issues that I am having -
1. I have the latest version of Kaiser Tweak and have sleepand fast sleep set to disabled (as recommended.) The phone is (on this version and did NOT do this in 3.5) going to sleep when on a call.

I do NOT have the password set on the phone.

2.The second issue is the new dialer. It now says AT&T and gives me a white screen. I see three phone numbers in my contacts list and it indicates HIDE KEYPAD at the bottom of the screen. If I click on HIDE KEYPAD then it DISPLAYS the keypad on screen anbd I have to dial the number with the stylus or type in a contact name with the stylus.

Do I have something misadjusted here? The only way to place a call now after typein in the number with the stylus is to press the green send button? and to hang up the RED END button? I cannot find anything that allows me to easily look up a number in the contacts now - for example - if the contact begins with the letter "S" I have to scroll down to it?

I must be missing the coolness of this dialer - can anyone shed any light on this for me? Or is my best bet to install a cab for the previous dialer?

one quick question shogunmark. theres a few apps that are installed in the rom such as live media and s2p that are updated (not frequently as theyre pretty near perfect) periodically and I'm just wondering if the updates will install over the native apps without conflict. or i could just wait until that happens and find out from there thanks again.
This has worked with live media, im not sure about the other apps though...
Yeah it's installed, i mean the list of video sites isn't there, but tcpmp plays flv files just fine.
i have an early adoption of the flash video bundle, never really cared for the sites list anyway...

Has anyone noticed that you can't get rid of the alphabet bar on the right side of the screen when you go into contacts?
Even enabling the alphabetical index doesn't make it disappear

im considering audio manager!
AS far as the keyboard sip pop-up... is this even a real problem? all windows mobile devices with hard keyboards that i have had has always displayed this type of behavior. And from searching around the only real fix i see is putting in a fake sip. To me that isnt a "real" solution, its just a bandaid.

what are you considering low? i didnt check before i installed my autoconfig apps but right now i am sitting at 34MB program & 63.26MB storage free

Hmmm, not sure how to fix that one, sounds like an incompatibility with the game and 6.1, i dont really play it, but added it for flavor and variett

well something happened to my kitchen, the original base rom that i stripped and the srs wow package were corrupt. It was a deadly combination. I ultimately ended up not rebuilding the package because i noticed a lower overall volume with it!

1. i will have to try this with my test phone tomorrow. since its related to the backlight i need to make sure that its not an ill affect of their schotty attempt to fix the backlight issues.

you need to start by running a soft spl from your phone, this will put it in a special bootloader that will allow you to flash a hard spl!!! Do this before going any further!:eek:

OK, that's where I started. I read the whole thread (a couple of days ago) and used it to flash to 3.28 in preperation for Death_3.5 then decided to wait for 4.x. I do not have the white screen issue. All I've needed to do in the past (including for 3.28) was run the contents of Hard_SPL3.28 (now Hard_SPL3.56) and off it went.

I guess I'll have to go back and start reading & searching again.

Thanks for your hard work on this ROM though. I'm quite looking forward to trying it out.

Never mind, I figured it out. In the previous updated JumpSPL was loaded automatically and I would confirm its running. In 3.56 you have to manually load it then run the update. I now have 3.56 installed and am going to try a flash to a 61 stock update before updating the radio and installing Death 4.1

The program "blacklight" doesn't work in Tab Launcher of HTC Home.

I have TYTN II i have try 3 difference Ratio 1.65.16.25 , 1.65.20.29, 1.58.25.17 but I when benchmark with gx bench the highest score is 1588 but I see the score of you is 1647. May be i have to change something??

OK, I have it installed and am adding my apps to see how it goes. So far it's working pretty well, but I was working with Garmin XT (4.20.50) and when I clicked Tools|Online|Any Option in the folder I got an exception from Garmin XT. I was using a 3G connection at the time. Once the exception occured, Internet Explorer could not use the 3G connection (it was still live). IE would just disapear. Just like Garmin XT.

I turned off 3G and turned on WiFi and the same occured. I'm trying a few more tests to see just what does and doesn't work with it. Right now I rebooted and Garmin XT and IE can both use the WiFi connection OK. So it appears to be a 3G related issue.

As soon as I have it narrowed down a bit more I'll post the results and Garmin error message.

PS: Nice work on the ROM. I like it a lot. Might have more than I need though so I'll be looking forward to the Lite version that I can customize with just the applications I use day to day. But it's nice to see a lot of new toys that I can play with as I might just find something I can't live without too. :)

Has anyone noticed that you can't get rid of the alphabet bar on the right side of the screen when you go into contacts?

Even enabling the alphabetical index doesn't make it disappear :(

The alpabetical index shows the top line in your contacts. It has nothing to do with the RandomAcces.


stupid question. how do i import the reg file using total commander?

Just use TaskManager v3. It's freeware and has an easy import function for the registry.

I installed the Cab file for the Thumbcal on a different romand yes hard button doesn't work...intended that way..

Left hard button doesnt work in thumbcal, however tapping the screen does work. I dont think this is a bug with the rom, i believe the actual app worked this way.

It is not related with the radios you installed. It depends on the number of programs you installed after flashing this rom. That means when you install a lot of programs on your device, the speed will be slower.

The score of mine is only 1529! :p

Are there known problems with this ROM and Radio version: 1.58.25.17.
I am having issues with the phone part not working at times (Exclamation mark instead of seeing a signal on the top bar)

Find included the last release based on Diamond lay-out if it could help ,or for others missing this great player in your ROM's
