Originally my diamond had WWE 1.35 rom. I successfully upgraded to 1.37.405.1 WWE rom, without installing your hardSPL. Now I'd like to install the TLR rom or the ME 1.37.456.2 rom.

- I tried to install hardSPL and unsigned hardSPL -> doesn't work (block at 0%)
Does this hardSPL support 1.37 roms?
- I tried to downgrade directly to 1.35 to install hardSPL -> doesn't work

What can I do?
Will hardSPL support 1.37 roms?

no, only if you use developer edition (see thread for that)

version is not 1.35.707, that's the OS version, you need to enter bootloader mode to see your bootloader version. but if the RUU went to 100% and did a hard reset then it was flashed successfully.

you must tell more details about your problem.

have you used the SSPL-Manual.exe?

does the device go to black screen?

if it does, do not touch the usb cable, and just launch the included RUU exe, wait for the RUU to finish at 100% then you're done.

Signed SPL are for Signed roms

UNsigned SPL you can flash anything.


Signed roms are 'safe', I guess the lowest risk to brick your device, and tested ROMs.

Unsigned roms could be unsafe, and this SPL is needed if you want to flash every ROM you find immediatedly.



So with the 'Singed' SPL you can't flash every rom, but the roms given in that thread.

Please advise how I can remove hard-spl so as to be able to load this official rom, [Hard-spl prevents it]

i have some problem with the Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex

I connected my xda to the pc and done the steps how it stands in the programm

the programm flashes, my device and then told me thats complet

my xda reboots an i have the normal windows mobile version on my xda.

if i want to confirm that its installed, i want to go into bootloader mode (volume down + reset) my xda starts again only

i looked at Start->settings->system->geräte information(device information) an it says to me rom version 1.37.207.2 is installed

so the programm does not install the olinex version

can somebody help me please?

I'm a noob to smartphones. I got to this link from a fren's recommendation. We bought the same HTC Diamond in Hong Kong, running rom SPL 1.35.00.00, he was able to install the rom update and update to 1.4. But I keep getting connection error 202, could not detect device, although the application is able to detect my device and sync. Has anyone ever encountered a similar issue and how was this resolved? I successfully installed the Hard SPl and all went well. I then tried to upgrade to the Elite team V2 ROM but it never gets beyond 0%. I have searched and read and am very confused...can anyone suggest a solution? Thanks in advance.

I'm having the same problem. I guess that it doesn't help that i have no idea about flashing roms. It gets to 100% without showing anything on the diamond. I don't get the tri-colour loading screen after the reset either.

Guys, think of the SPL has the same as a bios on a motherboard. to confirm its flashed correctly you need to press volume down key and reset at the same time ;)

Once I started the RUU and waited for sync and started the Update the screen of the XDA goes black and the RUU loses connection to the phone. At the same moment as the screen goes black I hear the Win-Sound for unplugging an USB-Device (without me doing anything) and right afterwards it tries to install an USB device (Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM) but doesn't find any drivers...
In the active-sync window it says that the phone got disconnected. Same in the RUU.
So I only can softreset the phone (because after 15 min still no hardSPL happened) and everything workes as before.

When I try the same with the SSPL-Manual.exe it happens exactly the same. So even if I was trying to open the RUU then - nothing happens because it doesn't find the phone plugged to the PC. btw: i'm using winXP SP3 and got the German o2-XDA...

Any help from you guys?

I just updated to Elite3.0 using the Hard-SPL linkt in the first post.
I am still experiencing very pronounced flickering og the TF3D.
It does however have a extremely easy fix at least for me. (It may have come up earlier in this thread) I just put the phone in standby. Then when i wake it again it's perfect.

I tried to install this hard spl thingy, but all it did was a hard reset. The screen went black, but no progress bar on my phone, only on my (vista) laptop. It took about 10 seconds to go from 0 to 100% and then restarted my phone. But it didn't change anything. Just had to configure everything like i got the phone for the first time.

I have the dutch version. 1.37.404.3 NLD

Sorry if this has been covered already, I have limited acces to the internet atm, so i can't go through all the. But i couldn't find a solution.

Also i have tried the other hspl 1.23 1.24 and 1.34. But none of them work. They stick at 0% and then nothing.. just a connection error

Edit: How do I know if the hspl has succeeded? Anywhere on the phone? the 1.37.404.3 NLD, that shouldn't hange, right?
Edit2: Volume down + red reset button.. Man I'm a noob.. the hspl-program stated it would take around 10 minutes to complete, but because it did in like 10 seconds I thought something was wrong. It turns out I already did the hspl..

i am sure it did work. please go to tricolour screen by pressing volume down while resetting, hold the volume down button until you see tricolour.

it will report 1.30.OliNex, so you will be fine. edit: oh I see you did figure it out :)




to 1.37 SPL people: first post updated with 1.38.OliNex which is signed version based on 1.37. (unsigned is of course in developer hardspl thread, second post.)

it is tied to hardware apparently... not all people who originally had 1.37 stock complain. some of them are fine. so, see if you get the screen problem, and if not, then you can leave the original hardspl on the phone.

you can grab 1.37 hardspl if you can't stand the flickering. otherwise 1.40 is fine

(both hardspl's are fine but I recommend 1.40 if you don't have flickering issue, because it is based on MFG. btw, as we are in the signed hspl thread, signed version of that is 1.30)

you can only flash signed roms with that. see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400411 for examples of such ROMs.

A few weeks ago I posted my first thread which in my opinion was all but damning the HTC diamond....

Of course, as a so-labelled 'Noob' or 'n00b' I was slated and slagged off by much more talented persons than I; subsequently deleting the thread (by request to MOD)!

Since, I have read all the forms as much as possible (trying to learn) and have to say that I am now using:

Elite 3.0 WWE (Walshieau)
1.00.25.05 (Tom_Codon)

and this all started using (OliNex) 1.40 HardSPL.

I have installed the O2 theme from sushilange.

All of this has added up to make my Diamond as cool as; I will be donating upon my next paycheck to all of the above and keeping an avid eye on their future work!

HTC official update won't flash unless it was re-signed. this is normal. please do check the thread I linked to.

1.40.OliNex or 1.37.OliNex or 1.93.OliNex from Developer HardSPL thread lets you flash anything.

i just now d/l the Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip.. i activesyn it & it show connected but when i run the prog it give me an error 202 connection error....

also try e SSPL-Manual.exe it screen when blank & nv reboot.. when i reboot back it back to my normal win

First of all great work guys!

I am trying to flash my Diamond from a Windows XP machine. I start the RUU and when the progress bar appears it halts at 0% and after some time starts about a connection problem, my diamond is not going in bootloader mode. So I started my Diamond mannualy in 3 color mode and started the RUU again. Again it halts at 0% and is there now for about 5 mins. Can you help me out guys?

it says exactly what? your post is not clear to me.

- you need to install hardspl if your tricolour screen doesn't report xx.xx.OliNex, or xx.xx.Hard.

- if you have issues with PC not seeing the SSPL - try another PC. do not try entering bootloader mode manually for the hardspl flash, that won't work

aye i is shows me tricolor olinex HSPL i've flashed 1.38 because i had screen problem wth the 1.37 now i can flash anything ..... exactly is pretend to flash anything but really nothing the progressbar is moving as i seen in the dark screen so looks is doing something but when finish and reboot the device is still the same as before was mokas....funny and report that MicroP error is boot up till the bootloader i could enter tricolor mode and factory resetting mode and that's all.........Not hapy ... may something went wrong during flash process or my device A BIT DIFFERENT what uu developers had seen..... i'll keep it for spare parts and have an ather one....

Yes 1.93 was and the original rom was 1.93.456.2 WWE exactly the same what i got in my new one i just bought yesterday ,ROM 1.93.456.2WWE ,Radio 1.00.25.05 ,Rom Date 10/07/08 ,Protocol 52.29.25.12W i think that is the newest official ROM when i had the first it came wth my contract upgrade again 18 months nevermind....The guy sed in the shop "we just got this device yesterday so nobody knows how it's working...." the box was sealed by HTC . but i really interest what a hell the MicroP rom is ???? if is a rom it's means upgradable and what is it controlling???? anyone a thoght...

I have installed OliNex 1.30 on my MDA Compact IV (HTC Diamond) but whatever I try to update after it is resetting the bootloader hangs on 0% and I get Error 262 on my Vista computer.

Anybody knows how to solve this?

i used the 1,24 spl and it works great, try to use that one, follow the instructions word by word, if your flashings hangs at 0 %, i had that too, it means the spl isnt properly proceeded

started with 1.93.456.2 WWE. Couldnt flash either new HTC HK WWE ROM or with Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex RUU.zip

Ran SSLmaunal.exe by copying it the the device from PC and use file explorer on phone to find new file, run it. Screen fades and goes black. DONT do what i did and wait for ages for it to "work". GO and now run RUU program on your PC from the zip file as mentioned above.

I know this is a real noob question and as a software/hardware developer I should be more confident to mod my device - but the fact that I might brick my 500€ Diamond makes me somewhat careful here...

2nd question: I remember from my prophet that when you bricked your ROM it is still possible to flash it from the tri-color screen - is this still possible?

I managed 2 flash my device wth only one rom, "RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.93.456.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.29.25.12_1.0 0.25.05_Ship" that is all.
Tried flash your 1.93 HSPL on, the progress indicator goes to the end then just restart and clean the device [HSPL still 1.38] even i tried revert for stock spl.
Almost i got 3.5GB of Diamond roms and radios + different hspls on my computer only that one i could flash onto my diamond and nothing else ....

it was just an accident i found something about the MP ROM the screen connector half was attached in a bit angle i did a research (pluged in properly) and problem gone connectors something like that "board to board" connectors are very small...
if i uncoupled the same side the warning message appear again only i saw is developer mistake htc forget put a small padding between the ribboncable and the housing ensure they're still together..... is on the bottom side of the board just under the HW keyboard there is an other cable in the top side of the board but is just the vibrator and the 2x cameras does do nothing if i unpluged.... i try make some pics later ....

are you saying you actually used HSPL 1.93 as SSPL? that is simply not possible for technical reasons. for example, you loaded it at 0x800000, ok, but the HSPL 1.93 loads at 0x0, if it could. but it cannot, because HTC protected this memory area so no SSPL will be able to load into it. (this is why diamond SSPL is special and this is why it needs 0x800000 for load address in jumpspl)

so I think you just remember some things wrong about what you did.
edit: actually it is possible you managed to boot into the HSPL 1.38 that was on your device. 1.38 is a signed HardSPL and therefore does not have SPL overwrite protection. so it allowed you to flash 1.93 on top of it.
every signed HardSPL has this feature (as they only accept htchacker cert-signed NBH's anyway).

(I don't bother making separate instructions for SPL flash (upgrade/downgrade) however, because unsigned HardSPL has overwrite protection, so I just post instructions that work on that too. users are already confused enough with the different SPL versions and whatever else.)

lastly, the 1.93 HSPL (that you claim to have loaded as SSPL) *has* overwrite protection. so it won't let you flash an SPL NBH.

as for the Micro-P rom, this is a very interesting discovery :) could you make a thread on this? (and send me the link in PM, so I don't miss it, thanks. :) )

just click/tap on the exe on the diamond (on the device itself!!!) to run it. do you get an error message or something?

I don't dare complaining (the answer might just be "SEARCH!" and "RTFM!"), but one has to admit that information on the forum is scattered all over the place and sometimes contradictory (because the old posts become outdated). That's absolutely fine and I'll head for the wiki instead (and should probably update it if our problem is solved).

I got same prob before but i find my solution cmonex told my try the SSPL-Manual.exe but is not worked for me i find a pack called JumpSPL (connect device wth sync than run jspl.bat and screen goes blank so uu can start spl flashing will have progress...)

Hi Guys, get my T-Mobile MDA Compact IV tomorrow. First things first is to lose the crappy pink interface. Was searching google for any info on how to do this found this site stopped looking, I have everything I need right here. I'll let you know how it goes. Video call hanged after 4 seconds. This only happened after ROM upgrade from 1.35. My set was purchased from a Hong Kong ebay seller. I tried to register the Serial Number on the HTC Hong Kong website in order to verify the latest ROM available in Hong Kong but it showed invalid serial no. Before the upgrade, video call was ok but only experienced dropped calls for voice call.

We are proud to announce the release of Hard-SPL for *ALL* Diamond devices, overcoming the new MPU protection on the device.

As an added feature, the Hard-SPL requires signed code even after flashing... we chose to do this for several reasons.

1) safety... we will begin releasing all available Diamond resources re-signed with our certificate, this means you don't need to worry about flashing something incompatible, if it's something bad, we won't sign it.

2) reliability; If you want something signed, just ask, we will be able to verify that it's not going to be something that breaks the device, as has been the case with the Elf ROM disaster.

We'll be releasing a developer edition in the future; we will continue to maintain the signed SPL as this is quite nice for total and utter noobs afraid of bricking their device.

Flash this now, Go to our separate thread listing Supported ROMs for ROMs you can flash ;)

Installation Instructions:

1) Download, extract to an empty folder.
2) Run RomUpdateUtility.exe, Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile
3) follow steps, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar.
4) SPL flashes, job done.

Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. do not try to use this SSPL to flash anything else other than an SPL file. it explicitly blocks other flashes anyway. SSPL is *never* a good way to flash OS images
2. INSTALLING THIS WILL HARD-RESET THE DEVICE

for those who need 1.37 due to some screen fuzziness issues on some newer diamonds, here it is with hardspl patches:
- Developer Edition: can flash unsigned code. Version: 1.37.OliNex
- Signed Edition: can only flash preapproved signed code. Version: 1.38.OliNex (of course still based on 1.37).
please see Attachment below for Signed Edition!!
for Developer Edition, see the developer hardspl thread of course.
(use attachment Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip to get the RUU package to flash the 1.38 NBH from HardSPL_OliNex138_Signed.zip. just overwrite the NBH file with 1.38 NBH)

I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG. only flash the 1.37/1.38 if you experience the fuzzy display issue.


UPDATE 2: 1.93 Hard-SPL
(placeholder for now, but you can already download unsigned version in the Developer HardSPL thread!)
if someone's diamond came with 1.93 SPL originally, maybe this HardSPL based on 1.93 will work better than the olders. I have a report that someone has black screen with older SPL's.
but even if your diamond didn't come with 1.93 stock, but 1.37/1.38 doesn't fix screen problems (fuzzy screen, flickering, etc.), it is recommended to try this 1.93 HardSPL.
if your diamond works fine with original HardSPL, no need to flash this one.



IMPORTANT: all in all, I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG and easier to deal with if there is some problem. only flash the 1.37/1.38 or 1.93 if you have screen issues.
if it was some other version and you still have issues after trying 1.37/1.38 and 1.93, then please let us know.

i have a french diamond and want to update the fw to german.
i flashed spl HardSPL_OliNex138_Signed on the phone and after that i try to flash RUU_Diamond_HTC_GER_1.37.407.2_Radio_Signed_Diamon d_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship, but it stucks at 0%.
the confusing fact is, that RUU_Diamond_HTC_Europe_1.37.401.3_Radio_Signed_Dia mond_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship works fine, but i need german language.
can anybody pls help me ?

Hi all,

I am in the progress of flashing a new rom into my diamond. It is not the 1st phone I flash but it is my 1st diamond. I read that I need to flash hardspl as first, so that is what I'm trying to do but I already get stuck here. The phone is not doing what I expect it to do.

1: I downloaded the rom from the 1st page of this thread.
2: did everything as the guide told me to
3: start flashing. phone askes me if i want to install software, click yes.
4: black screen
5: progress bar does not move
6: error 260

When I try to flash again, the phone now enters the bootloader menu (RGBW screen).

The phone still seems to work fine, but nothing has been updated.

I can only repeat this if I do a hardreset an reinstall everything, but I still get stuck at the same place, always error 260.

I have read several threads and did a search on this error but could not find anything.

I'm using vmware
WinXP sp2
Dotnet 2.0
Active sync 4.5
Symantec AV
Firewall is off

USB device are recognized properly within vmware, no issues there.

Any ideas?

Here's my status, and I would love to get some help...

I've tried getting this to work on Vista x64 and through VMware with XP x86 running on the Vista x64 computer. No luck.

Now I've installed XP x86 on my laptop with dual boot and I've installed all drivers, active sync etc etc. I've tried running the software while the phone is on normally, with and without USB connection checked in AS - on all USB ports on the computer. With AS activated, it manages to read out the current image version (1.94.409.1), but not if I deactivate the USB connection. With USB off I get a 204 error. With USB on I get a 246 error.

Next I tried booting into the boot loader (I get the four colors). In this mode it won't read the current image version, but at least the phone switches to that blueish grey with the indicator, but stays on 0%. If I'm not mistaken I usually get a 260 error from here.

Running the SSPL-manual.exe from the root of the phone gives me an error about it not being signed or missing some components.

My phone has a Norwegian ROM (yuck!) and I'm desperate to get rid of it...Any help would be greatly appreciated! :)

I have some problem with my hardware keys : When the Diamond boot, all the keys (Home,Return,Phone Up etc ...) works fine.
At a moment, the Left key goes to Home, Phone Down doesn't work, diamond Zoom itself in Opera etc...

I Check this with NavDbgTool (From HTC) and when all works fine, The keys respond well, Draw on Screen when I touch de Pad (bottom) but when I have the pb, the key doesn't respond (ie I click on Left and there is the home or Phone Up), Draw itself on Screen , etc...

When The problem begin, I reboot the Diamond and all works fine again :eek:

Possible there is a HardSPL Issue ?

My config :
HardSPL 1.40 Olinex
ROM 1.93.406.1 FRE HTC
Radio 1.00.25.08 (I try 1.00.25.05 and 1.00.25.07)

I'm having a damn hard time to install Hard-SPL to my diamond. I already tried a lot of things and everytime I end up with the necessity to unplug the battery and have it restart (fortunatly it always recovers).

My case is the following : on screen in the tricolour screen I read SPL 1.37 and above it says DIAM100

I already tried this : I took this Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip file and extracted . Run the ROMUpdateUtility.exe , gave the next on screen and checked the various boxes .... it states it's going to upgrade to 1.30 olinex .... give last next and program starts .
Up to now the diamond is connected and synced with activesync . I wait ..... program exits and says it can't comunicate with the pda and to check usb cable .....
I then tried to put SSPL-Manual.exe into pda's root and execute it on the diamond ...... screen turns black , activesync disconnects and it all remains like this (I waited with dimond laying on the table connected to the pc and with black screen for over 30 minutes ) and nothing more happens .

What should I do now ? I wanted to install Hard-SPL to be able to install at least .05 radio instead of the .03 factory one I have on now ... and maybe try out a coocked rom in the future ....

If I'm not mistaken you should run the update tool when the screen's black. Otherwise, you might have to hard reset your device a few times like I had to...

dear...did you flash CDMA diamond hardspl to GSM diamond??? it is stated in the ppcgeeks thread that it is only for CDMA diamond. anyway, yes, that would brick it.

By the way; the HardSPL "Bible" that people keep pointing me to states that ROM cookers generally mention which HardSPL is preferred for their ROMs. I cannot find any ROM threads that do so.

no, raphael is not diamond. go to raphael forum on this site to get matching hardspl (no, 1.98.0000 is not hardspl)

I have SPL 1.93 in my Diamond. Am running on linux (opensuse 11). I also have XP as guest OS inside VirualBox. I am facing the below problems when I tried to upgrade to Hardspl 1.40 unsinged.

1. Tried upgrading from XP using Activesync. When I run RomUpdateUtility.exe, the screen goes black in my device and nothing happens after that. In my PC, the status bar does not move beyond 0%. And the USB connection goes off and RomUpdateUtility throws up an error saying my device is not connected.

2. I tried upgrading from Internal storage as well. Renamed the NBH file and copied it to the Internal Storage. Got into the bootloader using VolDown+Back and reset. The bootloader is displayed and then the screen goes white and says "Loading...". Nothing happens after that. I waited for 5 minutes still nothing.

What is wrong with my Diamond? My phone is locked to Airtel (my service provider). Could that be a reason? Can someone please help me?

maybe a bit late now - if you still need help drop me a PM. it is not a trivial matter to restore stock spl from bootloader mode in the case of the diamond

but if the OS can still boot just no touchscreen you can still do it with RUU

Is there any way to flash SSPL without using the sspl-manual.exe? The automatic mode would not go into the bootloader.

The issue is that the touchscreen stopped working and now the OS is stuck at "tap screen here" after the hard reset. Basically I cannot use the touchscreen and need to flash the original SSPL to send the Diamond for warranty.

I'm having what looks like the same problem as others. Followed all instructions and ensured I used HardSPL UNSIGNED Diamond 1.40 OlinNex. Connected via ActiveSync got to final step, then got ERROR on the ROMUpdateUtility app after noticing YES/NO question on the phone screen. Before could answer YES, the screen went black, got the error, and the ActiveSync connection was lost.

Now there is no way to access the Diamond. You can see some light behind the black screen, so it is still powered.

My image version was 1.73.8XXXX. Japanese EMobile S21HT. CMonex, I tried to follow your instruction to ignore ActiveSync and click NEXT, but am getting ERROR[260]: CONNECTION.

I hope this isn't bricked.

But appears to have now bricked my handset. I have read the forum thoroughly and I cannot find any clear definitive information. Eg. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=SPL%20Questions%3F. This page is highly confusing. How about a table or matrix, just detailing what SPL are for what. If the moderators don't want to do it, then set something up so the whole forum can contribute their experiences in a more concise form rather than disparate and duplicated text all over the place.

By the way, also followed this page http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211, and according to other posts by moderators and technical specs, my Japanese EMobile S21HT is WCDMA or GSM and not CDMA, so this page is for me and thus 1.40 Olinex Unsigned is the correct HardSPL. However, I couldn't get past the the confirmation message which appeared on my Diamond. Now the screen is black.

A solution would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried the unsigned Olipro and it says invalid ID. I keep looking through these forums but everything I see says 1.93 ROM mine has 1.95 ROM OE. I want to flash Dutty's but I sure don't want to brick my phone.

hi, kinda new here, i am trying to unlock my touch diamond, followed download instructions etc by reading through these masses of useful info,

i am currently stuck at a point, to install the HardSPL 1.40 Unsigned
i click on the romutilityupdate.exe and extract onto desktop which then places an icon on my desktop.

When i click this icon to update my ROM nothing happens? has anyone else come across this before?

I have the active sync connection open and it is says connected.

Am i totally missing something obvious here?

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, have spent hours this afternoon reading through pages but couldn't find a solution to this.

Understand the frustration. Been there myself. I suggest using folders for the tools/progams and placing any dependent files in the folders. Check my Noob guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=454360). I wrote it so that others wouldn't go through the same pain I did.

If you bought your diamoon from IRAN as HTC Touch Diamond, that means your PPC is originaly not locked to any provider and you don't need SIM Unlock. in fact if you can use your diamond with IRAN network , that means you don't need SIM unlock...and BTW , Hardspl is completly different frim SIM unlock. Hardspl lets you to flash costume ROMs and Radios but SIM unlock lets you to use diffreft SIM cards

I have a noob question to.

When I try the update, my screen goes black and all looks good, and then the active sync looses connection and it tells me that there is an error (260) and exit.

How do I get the active sync to stop disconnecting? I am assuming this is the problem!!

Nope, this isn't a ROM and I don't think this Diamond HSPL works on the Pro. You use HSPL to flash ROM's and radio's. Read some more about HSPL and flashing cooked ROM's in the forum stickies first. Check the Raphael forum (http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=440) and [UPG]Hard-SPL by Raphael Elite Team[ONLINE] (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=410150) in particular for your device. This just hangs my Diamond. The 'Busy' coloured wheel appears then just hangs. the app says it has lost connection with phone etc. etc. Have to soft reset.

Hi, I correctly flashed hardspl 1.38 (and then I also tried 1.37 unsigned), it works, when I check the boot with reset+vol down I can see Olinex 1.3x.

Problem is: I still can't flash any cooked rom. I tried Morna 1.8 and DIB 1.33.

When I try directly from the phone (copying the file inside the 4gb) it says "Loading..." and stay there, I left it for 10minutes and nothing.

When I try through USB, it begins, I see the SPL, then it goes 0% and stay there forever until the software says: ERROR 262.

hard reset and nothing changed on my phone... what I am doing wrong? I have a new Diamond, bought it 10/2008.

i have O2 Xda diamond, when i restart the device i can see the following details:

R 1.00.25.05
G 52.29.25.12 H
D 1.93.00.00

i wanted to install WWE ROM so i decided to install Hardspl 1.4 from the Olipro thread in this forum.
but while doing update it showed the version as "1.30" and when the update was complete it automatically hard reset my device!! (i had followed the hardspl update guide on "modmydiamond", where it says that device will only be soft reset after update.
i also cant enter bootloader by pressing "vol down+ reset " key and my phone simply restarts when i do this and shows the same info as before the update on the initial screen.
can anybody tell what is going wrong here? as i want to conform hardspl is there before i proceed to ROM update.
any help is greatly appreciated.

mmm, I finally did it.
Had to install HardSPL 1.24, now it's flashing correctly cooked roms.

I don't know if it helps, but I used also JumpSPL before I actually put the 1.24 on.

Running Morna 1.8 enhanced now!

I have a HTC diamond bought off a friend from France. It was sim locked to a French telco ("Bouyges"????). After a visit to ModMyDiamond, I managed to get (i.e. purchase) a SIM unlock code and hey - its now sim unlocked. Cool. step 1 complete.:D

Now step 2 is proving not so straight forward. I have read every post in this thread. :eek: I bet i'm not the only one to do this. I have tried multiple times to flash hard spl and have failed at every attempt. I've tried with Win XP SP3 on my laptop and WinXP SP2 on my desktop PC. With XP SP3 I get the connection error after black screen (260?). With XP SP2 I get Adifferent error relating to file privileges (240??). Activesync 4.5 newly downloaded this week on both PC's. I have downloaded the latest DotNEt CF from microsoft and tried updating this on the phone but the phone displays a message saying the version on the phone is newer and thus does not allow the upgrade to continue.. Strange but true.

I feel very frustrated like loads of other people, but I guess that the RUU has been tested for a small subset of handsets / OS's etc, to be completely validated is too big a task for the gurus here? I guess we're all guinea pigs with the benefit of receiving free roms - cool.

My phone details are as follows - please help to let me know what may be causing the problem. (I've tried flashing spl 1.93 plus a couple of earlier ones also). The phone still works fine apart from it having French language (I need WWE).

i had the specs... windows XP SP2...
once you connect to the ActiveSync, delete the relationship - so it would appear as guest...
now run the CustomRUU for hardSPL (try unsigned 1.40) i also had SPL 1.93 and unsigned 1.40 worked perfectly for me... if that doesn't work... try unsigned 1.93...

also... it might be a vendor ID issue... check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=409425

EDIT: i used olipro's hardspl, you may also want to try jockey... but try unsigned

I will try the AS guest relationship later. Is there an actual 1.40 version of hardspl? I can see 1.37 but not 1.40. I've probably stumbled across it before in my previous 3 days worth of thread browsing oh well I suppose I can retrawl the thread. Needle in a haystack an all that..

Ok, i did it at last, i used the version 1.24 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408621

1. Download/unzip
2. Run diamond-sspl.bat / screen goes black
3. Enter in the folder HardSPL-1.24 and run DiamondCustomRUU

I still have one question, in step 3 can i run instead of 1.24 the OliNew latest hardspl ? or it doesnt make any sense in changin it ?

Guess what?

It failed again for me..:(

Did you click the continue button on the phone to make the screen go black before running DiamondCustomRUU? If I click continue the screen goes black but activesync loses the connection and the rest fails - error 260.

If I do not click continue but instead run the DiamondCustomRUU, I get the tri colour bootloader screen and then lose connection.

Any further help will be much appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply, i'm was busy, yes i clicked on the screen, this turns black and after this you have to run the diamondcustomruu, it should work.

1. Do you have Vista or Xp ?
2. Did you install the flash drivers?

I have XP SP3 installed with the latest .net framework. I tried to install the latest compact framework from Microsoft onto the phone but the update software said that the version installed was newer than the latest one form microsoft! strange..

what do you mean by the "Flash drivers"???
