Yesterday I unstalled HTC Home and used the customizer to make it transparent, I really love it, any chance to throw that in there? Also do you think Skype still needs BatteryStatus to run well? Also GoogleMaps is not finding MyLocation which sucks, it may be the new radio, or the newer GoogleMaps version. Also consider adding AE Buttons Pro, it is freeware and gives excellent options for remapping buttons, up to 4 functions each including WIFI and BT toggling... Had issues with your BT on/off links... Your BT Toggle however is great for switching the audio to headset and back to speaker, once the BT is turned on....

Will be interesting to try to Throttle ROM, I had already tried the Throttle on my wing and it ran so slow, it was almost painful. The concept of the program looks great it was just really slow on my Wing, but if you say it is fast I may try it once you upload it.

Hmm just installed 6.0, now Activesync isn't working. It connects, but it hangs at "Retreiving Settings" and won't allow me to explore or sync. Do I have to delete my previous partnership so it will recognize this new one? Suggestions?

I ran in to a situation. (I think it may be related to me underclocking around 150+)

The phone on it's own dials number 2 randomly..... very weird.

I re-flashed the phone with OEM rom, the issue continued.

Flashed the v6 rom and issue went away.....

Yes! I've been having issues w/ my Juno mail. Even tho my settings are to delete messages from the server when I delete from my phone, it still keeps downloading the same messages over and over again. Over the weekend this wasn't a big deal, because I don't get a lot of emails over the weekend....during the week, however, it will likely drive me insane! I'm not sure about my gmail or yahoo accounts because I haven't received much, if any, mail to those accounts (and haven't had the time to send myself emails in order to check).

Other then the email issue, I've had the same issues as others - the weather, the wifi.....one thing I got back with THIS rom that I lost when I flashed to 3, and again to 5, was maps on accuweather. With the other 2 roms, all I got was black space where the maps SHOULD be.....now they work again! I hope they continue to do so with the other roms. Only other issues are due to needing to tweak...but I'm waiting to do that until I flash w/ whatever version I'm going to end up keeping (until ttran comes out w/ yet another new & improved version...if that's possible!). As much as I liked SPB when I had the standard tmobile rom, I think I like the phone better without it w/ the new roms.

Ttran - thanks for the awesome ROMS...you have made me go from liking my Wing (I would NEVER admit to not liking it after convincing my hubby I had to have one) to absolutely LOVING it....plus I no longer have "phone-envy" of anyone else!! I'm no exchange expert but just for my own clarification when you say exchange mail sync is this IMAP, POP3, or Push mail via HTTPS?

I use Push via HTTPS and have had some odd things happen with it but after it calmed down it has been working for the past 12 hours without issue. My issues have been:

1) First sync did not sync all messages but new messages came in fine.
2) Changed download from 3 days to 2 weeks. First message would show-up then disappear/show-up then disappear/over and over. Did a reboot/soft-reset of the phone. Phone then removed all messages (about 400) and then re-downloaded all 400 messages. Things have been working ok since then.

My settings are download full message, download attachments to storage card, use plain text, download 2 weeks worth of mail.

You may want to delete the exchange account and re-build it. I think the act of removing all the messages on the device and re-syncing solved any issues I was having.

Hey ttran, like most others I am addicted to your roms. I love 6.0 Lite so far but i can't wait for TL biggie...

One thing I noticed is that when i use oxios hibernate, the pop-up box does not have the x button to close the window. I am still able to touch the corner of the box and it will close but i was wondering if you have seen this or if i have a bad flash or something.

same thing when i tried to dial a number from the internet, the pop-up box was blank and i couldn't tell it that it was ok to dial the number.
-not major issues, but hope this is helpful in some way-

I dont use exchange so I can t respond to that part of the question, however I can say that my gmail account setup was just like before with an odd occurence. after I first flashed the new rom, i setup gmail letting it automatically set itself up like before. (it worked with no problems), but after I had it installed for a few hours, my gail account quit working completely. I went to my google settings with my pc and followed the imap setup tutorial as instructed and the gmail account now aorks correctly. I dont know what caused the initial blip in the service, but that fixed it.

Just a little feed back to let you know. I can always flash the radio 03.18.90 after I flash the rom, it's not that difficult anyway :)

After playing around, I added a POP3 account and then deleted the Exchange account. Added the Exchange account back in and now it is pushing just fine. From what I can tell it was actually failing to do the full first sync so it couldn't start pushing back and forth..for whatever reason doing it this way allow ActiveSync to pop up and let me know there was a sync issue and off it went.

The main reason I released one last week was to let folks play with the new build.

The WM7 version of the TL looks very cool but I feel it does not look as cool as the one from spb. But then again, thats just my option.

The theme create for the TL version did a wonderful job and I do like it.

I've spent a large part of last weekening trying to have it resolved.
I have it working on my friends tilt how that it will work on the herald as well.

You will not have that problem any more with the next release since I've removed spb mobile shell from the picuture and replaced it with TL.

Click on the link below and download. Under options just select HTC Weather and ADD CITY to add your city to a customized databse. Once down you will be able to load your local weather.

It allows different functions for 1, 2, 3 clicks or hold giving each button 4 functions. I am really happy I found this freeware, was looking for something to toggle WIFI and BT and there is not window to close after like I saw in another program... Most people want to install stuff to their sd cards since they are pretty cheap these days.

Oh no, I just upgraded from your OT 3. This is a whole other OS and I love it and the speed, just hope the slim version will be as light as possible since I don't like having stuff that I either don't use, don't know how to use, or have no clue what it does, like SMSDR or Oxio... Yep, I install all my apps to my sd card and many other people do as well. The only downside to it, is that if you pop out ur sd card then you cannot run some apps. But other than that, there are no downsides. The speed is the same and so is everything else.

I posted this back on page 49 and I think it got lost...anyone have any ideas what might be happening?

I don't know if it is my PC, Active Sync, or the phone, but I have set up my pc to sync via bluetooth. Both my pc and phone are showing that each other is connected and blue tooth is turned on. When I go to ActiveSync and choose connect via bluetooth I get an error that pops up and states "Cannot find an existing Bluetooth partnership with a PC that supports ActiveSync. Would you like to set up a partnership. Yes or No". If I choose yes it takes me to the "mode" section of the bluetooth manager. If I choose no it takes me back to activeSync. I was able to connect via bluetooth with v5.0 Any ideas?

I played with this ROM today, and first of all I must say it is fast. Scrolling through favorites in IE is blazing fast, and I hope that's indicative of the overall speed. Remember playing solitaire on a 386SX? The cards would take 5 minutes to bounce off the screen, then one day you were bored on that P3, and it took 5 seconds... it's like that, though not as pronounced.:p

About the bugs...

I don't know if it is SPB or the core, but when I am running one program, then press the windows key to go to another program, it closes out the first program. I have to start it again, which closes the second one. And around we go.:rolleyes: I have become so used to quickmenu of OT4 lite that I could one-hand it most of the time. The larger touch screen menus of this one (SPB?) are nice, but that ok/windows button issue is a problem I need to learn to work around somehow. Just like the dialer; since it is different, it will take some getting used to.

I was in IE trying to type my name in the login box of XDA, and when I turned the screen sideways I saw the flashing line where the input box would be, but the screen never rotated. I gave up on it after a while. Not sure if it is the website, the rom, or the IE program on this one. Anyone else?:confused:

While I haven't done a lot of installing or customizing of this one I'd say it is very nice, looks great, runs fast, and seems to have good battery life... I'll put that to the test tomorrow when I run the two or three GPS programs at once.:D

About the email problems...
I too have had email issues in the past and with this ROM, so I don't think it is in the ROM, but probably in the email program.

Randomly, it will re-send some emails. I can delete them from the phone, and a few minutes/hours later, it will be sent again. I understand it will do this if a soft reset is performed shortly after the deletion, as if it is not written to a registry file or something, but sometimes it just sends some emails again... and not all of them. Very peculiar.

I found a solution... delete them again. They only come back once, (unlike Mr. Kreuger/Michael Myers)

I don't know if it is SPB or the core, but when I am running one program, then press the windows key to go to another program, it closes out the first program. I have to start it again, which closes the second one. And around we go.:rolleyes: I have become so used to quickmenu of OT4 lite that I could one-hand it most of the time. The larger touch screen menus of this one (SPB?) are nice, but that ok/windows button issue is a problem I need to learn to work around somehow. Just like the dialer; since it is different, it will take some getting used to....

I had a similar issue, but after playing with it I realized that the applications were usually staying open but for a few of them. The lack of an instant TM on the interface is an issue easily corrected by remapping Button 5 (Voice button on the right side) as a Task Manager... If not you can also access the TM through the Program/Tools sub-menu.

Ttran, I have tried the Throttle Launcher and have found out that my wing lost considerable speed. As you most likely optimized your ROM for it, I was wondering on your speed. I am trying to understand what could result in such lag and I am wondering if Spb SM conflict with Throttlelauncher. I would be interested by your feedback as I plan to add Spb SM to your new rom if possible - I did like the interface which I think is more user friendly and to some extent superior.

Thats cool, my last job i supported about 300 users and 22 servers. I miss being busy the whole time at work...but here i got to rebuild the domain, setup the back ups and deploy an Exchange 2007 server. Before i got here they had one local DC and a workgroup at the co-location, had the tape drive but wasn't doing daily backups and was using GoDaddy for their email.

One of the best things about this job though and with you being in the IT field i know you will agree...I have been here about 10 months...and had maybe a total of 3 meetings =)

After 4 days or so of use I've convinced myself the audio notifications are much much quieter then the T-Mobile ROM. Even with the volume all the way up it is difficult to hear notifications for things like e-mail and SMS.

Not sure if this is something can even be affected by a ROM, it may simple be the amplitude the audio files are at, but it is very noticeable.

About WM7, Ttran001 and everyone else please take the following comments as my own personal preference towards a UI and not a bash against your own personal preferences. I actually don't care for anything MS. All of MS's UIs seem outdated and cartoonish to me. Why do I have a WM phone and don't go get an IPhone? Because I love the HTC devices and with ROMs like Ttran001's you can hide the MS UI and make it look like anything you want. I'd much rather hide the fact that I use a Windows OS on my phone then make it blatantly obvious. I love the flexibility and choose in 3rd party apps but I'm not thrilled with the core interface itself (the WM dialer is a great example of poor design). I vote for the diamond look and keeping things looking less and less like windows as possible. The HTC Diamond look is great; please keep it up.

With the most current version it will auto disable the two soft keys.
If I go back to the older version 9.1, then it will be missing some extra effects from the version 9.2.

TL creator is aware of this issue and is currently working on it.

I just want to make this clear before posting it today so please do not start spamming about it.

On the 5.3 Biggy, I actually removed them with DCINOBAR... I only use them on the OT 6.0 as it is a testing ground... So I could not care less either way... Whatever version you post is good to me...

I do agree that you should put a disclaimer or readme file with it for the ones who did not read the thread...

I would say bring your laptop, use internet sharing to keep an eye on the ROM release...flash the phone from the laptop on the road and have the best of both worlds...hide your laptop under your car seat for the conference and enjoy V6.0 =)

Very nice interface and features. But after 50 minutes playing with this rom, my finger is too sticky for TL. :( Perhaps someone who love TL will love this rom better than me.

I'm going back to Lite Diamond which suit me better for now. There are 2 issues that I run into so far.

-black block in the center of the dial pad which will cover the phone number or a contact name.

Will the lite version be using the spb mobile or throttle? I have grown to like the interface in the existing lite version and would love to keep it. The full registered version of spb I have found to dislike after buying it, but I am also unsure of how to change away from the colorful circle buttons to the black and white boxes like you have in the lite, maybe time to hit the books.

Anyway GPRS data is not working and no indication of why. It acts like there is no radio. WiFI is working but does not like to stay connected to my AP. I have the power turned way down on my AP so this may be related to the radio version being used.

I understand that SPB looks and feels better then the TL, but TL is free.
If people still want the SPB version then I will go back and fix the wifi issue, remove some stuff from it to help clean it up and reup the rom.

As for the TL, at first I thought it was hard to use as well.

The trick is to click your finger on the bottom part of the screen and then slide it over either right or left.

After I spent some time using it, I began to really enjoy it since it is really a great program.

SPB, has great things as well, but you have to pay for it.

I just want to produce a rom where all the apps include are free.

Continue to provide your feed back, but first play with it a little bit before giving up on it.

As for data connections, I tested that with both ATT and Tmobile and both work once your run connetion setup and reboot.

Ttran, same issue here. Multiple tries running the Connection Setup and rebooting, and it doesn't work. Last i even tried reflashing the Radio 3.18.90 just to discard a radio issue, but that is not working either.

Ooops - yes, that was just a typo on my part:o...it IS wap.voicestream.com - and actually, I DID check that, and verified it w/ the tmobile site just to make sure that hadn't changed...but still no success.

download flash center and use that to flash the rom.

Glad to know I'm not alone in this...makes me feel not QUITE as dumb! My next step was going to be reflashing too...however, since you tried that w/ no success, I guess I'll wait and see if anyone comes up with a fix. I'm still fairly new @ this, so I'm not sure what else to try in order to fix it.

Ok, if I use the Comm Manager from TF and try to turn on WIFI, it doesn't work. However, i went to the Start Menu, then Settings, the Connections tab, and clicked on Wireless LAN. There I selected to turn on the WIFI and it's working. Still no luck with data connection, but i'm still playing with it.

Make sure you are clicking on "herald-uspl" which is NOT in the RUU folder. Don't try clicking on "ROM Update Utility" in the RUU Folder because you'll get the results that you just mentioned (yeah, yeah....I found this out the hard way when I was trying to flash my phone at 3am one time).

I just flashed this rom and everything works great except the t-mobile internet. i ran the connection setup and it still says it cant connect. i have tried the three different access point names as well but nothing. i also tried the ip address provided by t-mobile. it will not let me connect to the internet or weather. any ideas?

I disabled wifi to auto start so you have to enable it by default.
Doing so free up more program memory.

As for the data connections, for no just download htc network wizard to setup the data connections.

i apologize about that. i was refering to the lite version of the open touch. But i just flashed the new rom and tried to see if it works but the connection doesnt. Im going to see if i can get the htc network and see if that goes. Sorry about the mis understanding.

Same here. Tried two different network wizards and no luck. I'm just wondering if there is a DB file that contains all the settings for Network Wizard to configure the phone and might be corrupted thus causing this issue. I say this because in my first wizard install, i tried installing in the Storage card, and obviously that didn't work, but then when I installed it in the main storage, it wasn't populating the list of Country and Network Operators. Then I tried opening the Connection Setup that comes with the ROM and it said Error in the database.

Any ideas Ttran?

Aside from the network wizard problem, there is also a problem with the TF, whenever I open up the settings for TouchFlo, upon returning to the Today screen, or rebooting the device, I get multiple skin errors that will not go away, saying I have to install Net3.5.Message.cab.

well i tried your rom on my wing and is great .Well it may just be the best ever...but active sync won't connect keep getting an error code (607) i think and no internet..strange i can make calls but no internet... had to load bootloader and use tmobile ruu to get out of it

I went back to Lite Diamond in the mean time.

I did notice that the slowdowns on Biggy were on TF. When I opened Internet Explorer and other applications it used to fly. Also the TF Home Menu buttons were kinda messed up. I would press one of them and something else would load.

I'm using the tmobile customization cab that I ripped off of my old MDA from T-mobile. I doubt any wizard is going to be better than that, even if you enter it manually because i don't see the difference.

Nice work Ttran and I appreciate all the hard work you do to give us such great ROM's! I'm experiencing the same internet (proxy) issues that others have reported. Another thing that I haven't seen mentioned is the main weather screen is always blank, got the extended forecast (via wifi) but the main screen never shows the weather.

I personally like the SPB best, of course it cost money for it but it's nicer and faster. TL will take some time to get used to like everything new. But I can't stand getting that "wheel" (like the Windows hour glass) every time I switch from app to app. Other than the few minor issues that we all expected just didn't know what they'd be...it's a nice ROM! I'll stick with it and play around with it more to give TL a chance to grow on me. Worst scenario...I go back to the awesome Diamond version...it's a win/win situation. :D

i LOVE the way the rom looks, works, and feels. i am anxiously awaiting the update. TL is a little slower then spb but thats because the clicking of the icons isnt registered automatically. i think their is a 2 second delay before it clicks down and opens an app. (at least thats what i pulled out of while using it). installing battery status and overclocking my wing to what i usually have it running 175-299 it ZOOMS :). thanks ttran.

i flashed back over to itspapadiamond rom to look at what my connection says after i set it up. it gives me 4 options
add a new modem connection
add a new vpn server connection
set up my proxy server
manager existing connections

in ot 6.0 the add a new vpn server option for me ISN'T there. could that be the problem with our internet? so far everyone with problems has tzones lol.

I tried to stick with the new Biggy but i cant go without internet...Once that is figured out i'll give it another shot.

I went back to v6.0 Diamond Lite, Also i downloaded a spb Mobile WM7 theme file and replaced the files in the spb Mobile program files. (this might be well known, but it's my first time) So now i have the OpenTouch v6.0 WM7 Lite =) I am sure you do more then just replace the files in the program files for the theme and whatnot. But i am loving this theme!

Awesome work with both ROMs TTran.

P.S. On Friday you will need just $9,990 to hit that $10,000. Thats awesome, must be a good feeling knowing that 10,000+ people are using your hard work! Congrats on that!

Im running biggie on my Wing. Ran the connection setup. I have everything working a-ok including internet. I love the look of the ROM. It is a little slow compared to some of the past OT. Regardless, great job once again ttran!

Well, I used Flash Center to install. Once the phone did the initial setup and reset, I went into "Connection Setup" under settings. I selected United States and T-Mobile. It did its thing there. I did NOT reset. I, then, went into "Connections" and let it detect everything. Once it did that, I did a soft reset. It was working fine from that point on. I didnt have to change a thing. I wish I had a "trick" or something that I did that I could help everyone out with but I dont. It just simply...worked, from the get go. I do have the unlimited net package fyi.

flashed, let auto settings do it's thing.
went through the start menu to settings,connections, connection setup and picked t-mobile-usa and it set it up fine.

When you indicate that you updated it with some fix, did you update the radio or did you keep the old one on? If that is the case would you advise me not to update the radio for some reason or could I do it?

it is the full version of spb mobile shell I believe, just not paid for and registered. if you pay for it, it just will not quit working in 15 days, if you dont buy it, it will quit working in 16 days :) I may be wrong but I think that was your question.

It's 29.97. I bought it to play with it, but can't get it to look the same as how it comes installed in the Lite rom, if Ttran can point me in the right direction on how to customize it, it's well worth the purchase price.

How about uninstall active sync on your pc and re-install it. Then soft reset your wing then connect.

Is there anyway to get the biggy version but with the spb shell? I fooled with the throttlelauncher, and I just didn't like the layout, and it was too sluggish. Plus, there are some really cool themes for spb out there already. I really like the wm7 theme.
