Well most of you might not know it but if you use Spb there is a few things to do to recover from the Today Screen:
On the Today screen, if you tap around the top status bar around the area of the time and drag your finger (or stylus) 1/2"down you can go back to the Spb Now screen. If you release it there, you will go to the Now screen if you keep your finger there, you will be able to select one of 3 Spb pages...

In addition, if you use the Spb version, got to Setting, Personal, Menu and add Spb Menu as one of the item on the Start Menu - if you use the short one, you may need to remove one of the existing entry.

Finally, I have posted in the past - about a week ago - a Cab which auto-forward the Today Screen to the Now Screen (was designed by TheDumbKid I
believe) within a few seconds...

I think that those option make the Spb viable without a need to reset or to lock the device (the old way) when you loose the Now screen...

If you install the SpbWatcher.cab (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=76007&d=1205633462), install it on the device - not the storage card, and verify that it is listed on the Today setting under items...

The Today Screen will be systematically replaced with the Now within less than 1 second whenever an application exit on it. It has to be loaded on the Today page as a plugin for the forward to be active...

I tried the other OT 6.x and have settled on OT 6.1 Diamond lite SPB. I really enjoyed using this one. Very nice job Tran, and XDA Family for all the tweaks. I have played with all I can without cell signal, but the ship will be in Kodiak, AK this thursday so I will have the weekend to try out rom 100%

I have flashed to 6.0 TL Lite yesterday afternoon. Twice now I have gone to the weather tab to check on current conditions. Both times it does not update and I am having to re run the connection setup and put in my proxy settings each time as well. I did not have this problem with 6.1 SPB Lite. I know it is not working becuase when it does not update I jump over to the internet and can not pull up any page anymore. I run the wizard and configure the proxy settings, do a reset and am back in business. The weird thing though is that during the time when I can not get onto the internet and or update weather I am still able to get e-mail from my comcast.net account via outlook on the phone.

I am using the the SPB version, it is registered. When I lock the device the volume bar does not lock. So in my pocket it will increase/decrease the volume. Bad in meetings. Any suggestions.

Can you take a look at the issue of memory and battery drain fast? All 3 of the roms seems to drain battery real fast no matter what version of radio I use. For the memory, even the wing is idle it still use up the memory but in the task manager nothing is running.

Looking forward to flash your newest rom.

6 Decide if the pretty graphics are worth the loss of RAM.

Note, Some skins take more RAM than others, I'm using the Glassy Blue Gsmart skin and I still have about 22Mb of RAM.

I just tested it, it dropped me down to 15Mb of RAM and it doesn't work in landscape mode. Don't include this one yet.

Ok Im still having issues with my stereo bluetooth. I use some blue ant stereo speakers at work and with this new rom I get a horrible background noise. Ive tried different radios and that doesnt seem to help. Any ideas? Never had this problem with any past roms Ive used.

i myself am not a wing user, but some of my buddies have wings and see my phone and always want there wing to look the same(i have 6800)! i did my research on how to unlock and flash the wing and i just wanted to give mad props to ttran on your roms! there the only ones i've used on the wing besides a couple otheres and well everytime one boots up im always like oh shit this is on there and amazed at the home screens! so ya thnx

Just wanted to say Diamond Lite sbp is my favorite rom by far, really fast and beautiful to look at. One stupid question though, I can't seem to get Internet Explorer to connect. I use the proxy hack and it's worked on all your roms before. I run the network wizard before I plug in the proxy settings. Is there a fix for this or am I doing something wrong? I researched the forums but couldn't find any info. Thanks a bunch.

The only rom that is having internet issues is the biggy and it states that the internet does not work on the first page by the download link. If it is either of the light versions then you should not have a problem with the internet and most likely has to do with your settings.

for those of u who got windows live cab to workon Open touch6 TL>> version and want it to show your mail preview in TL... preview window just do this
1>load the settings page on thottle luncher
2>tap touchFLO3D
3>on the bottom of the page scroll till u see Mail
4>on the mail page u want 'Icon params' ONLY change whats in " " in this case u want hotmail ..so should be ... -service "Hotmail" -open inbox ..then change 'Mail Account' to Hotmail
5>you MUST tap on save, then ok, then reload today
6>now u want start, messaging, menu (on the bottom right), hotmail, then 7(Email) now set message preview size to 2,500 then done .. close all the windows till u back to today screen and now your golden

I can't speak for everyone but I gotta say diamond lite sbp is the coolest rom I have used and I have been using Ttrans roms since 2.2. The only issue I have is my internet wont work with the poxy hack, other than that I really love this rom. I would do it, you can always flash back to 4.0 if you don't like it.

What seems to be the problem with OT Spb? There is no known problem about the internet - my wings are functionning fine and I have no problem to access it. As i am playing with the mod, I have not have one occurence of an internet issue and I have reflashed the phone numerous times.........

I agree with you, OT4 biggy is a very nice rom.... But IMO OT6.1 Diamond Lite SPB takes the crown. Smoother, faster, more appealing. Do try it.

- I am in the US and I have T-Mobile...

1- Run the Wizard 1st - verify it is correct, if not set you selection and save it.
2- Open Connections, go to the advanced tab,Select Network make you selection... If you have TM select TM Data on both fields, press ok...
3- Select the Task tab and Setup my proxy. Remove all checkmark and press ok....

4- Wait 30 sec and try your internet... If it does not work try a soft reset... If it does not work re-flash...

OT 6 hasn't been out that long. Most likely is he was using OT 5.0 which had the sms problem but there is a fix for it on the first page of that thread.

Before you get flamed read a little or think what version you are using mate. This version has no sms issue.

That is on many roms even t-mobiles original. Just close it . But there is a reg edit for that dont remeber it off the top of my head ....

The "fix" is on the Automatically Update Time Zones page in the phone settings. It is usually not shown in the ROMs. If you use the Advanced Configuration cab then you can access it. I don't know how to change it otherwise. You need to uncheck the box that allows the phone to auto-update the time zones. Somehow that keeps it from popping up. I don't know how to access that through the registry.

Well I feel its time to test these roms even harder as they are being made better, faster , stronger and with more thought in the process from our cooks.

OK out the box the rom moves smoothly. Checking ram for posting now let me install GXmark and dynamix #D for benchmark testing. Ok done and test are done.

I need to add my settings & owner information. Now time for the network Wizard. Looking for advance config .. Dont see it ok ill add it . Dont like the large menus.

ttran removed the link for File Explorer making it Total commander which I dont like for going thru files and installing . The transition from screen to screen is beautiful i love how ttran did that.

Ok the wifi is working correctly. Able to browse and update all weather programs ... Just PERFECT ttran.

OK the MMS/SMS not working .. Thats not nice as I love using it . I thank you ttran. Now the MMS /SMS does have the hack already included. But its not working, I believe its due to data not working.

When making a call as soon as the phone loads up it locks a lot and you cant hang up or use the phone . You must do a fresh restart.

Now people do not install htc home . I did it and it was a big mistake. Pure lock ups but i hadto see how it would work . Did that at the end of the test.

Now for you folks who ask the same question 100 times.YES !!!!!! The MMS/SMS 1.2M hack is working and already installed by ttran....

So if you want to complain about a rom remember if you don't speak up and tell the cook what you do and don't like then don't say anything at all. The cooks here are doing this out of appreciation , admiration and love of the art of cooking. If you think it is so easy then put out your own rom.

Now remember I tested this on a t-moible wing . A lot of these problems may not occur on all phones. So if you have a different phone please post your findings.

A major bug I seen so far with all roms and all smart phones is the issue with hanging up a call when you choose to and not waiting 20 seconds or more until the phone chooses to hangup the call.. ttran seems to have that licked.

ttran came back with a blast. Very smooth and fast rom . Love the effects he has created. Very small bugs for me so I know he will correct them.

I hope my review of this rom helps many in their questions as I tried to cover as much space as possible. If you feel something is missing please make a note of it so for future note my reviews will be as full as possible.

Do you test email as well? I didn't see any comments on that. Some of the ROMs have had issues with email working correctly, so if you haven't been testing that it might be good to give a whirl as well. :)

Is anyone else having problems with Weather Panel 2.5.1 or Battery Status? Mine won't fully install and locks up my today screen. Mobile Shell still works, but the today screen, the start menu, and the ok button don't. As soon as I remove them and reboot, it works fine again.

BTW these worked fine for the first day after I flashed, then slowly it would freeze, then sometimes it would cut off, and then it wouldn't start at all. If it was a compatibility issue, they shouldn't have worked from the day I flashed, right??? :confused:

i go to a local shop. really cool guys, just overwhelmed is all. $60 bucks i think. i changed the screen on my wing once and the keyboard stopped working. comical, no? no tutorials could be found on how to do the keyboard fix so i had to bring it in. the other place i found was almost twice as expensive. these guys are a find. im learning a little about hardware from them, which is cool. i get to wax software, learned here, and show the custom stuff i get off of xda. they fix all makes and models. flips to htc to blkberrys to sidekicks.

had the same issue with the OT6.0 lite diamond spb version of this rom. I tested the rom for a few days and so far this is the only issue that i have with it. The program memory on this version is constantly low and opening more than 1 program will close the original program. Its not the cooks fault its the crippled wing / herald fault. Hopefully tmo's next ppc that comes out doesnt come with the minimum program memory. This is a great ROm and i can imagine how it would work on a ppc that had more memory.

take it u gpt opera 9.5 beta on your device.......if u do a search u will find out that your not the only one with issue there is a fix i just can't remember it.... u will get this every time u open OPERA9.5

I'm really getting used to Lite Diamond and SPB Shell.. It's so quick and responsive!!

I have 3 questions, though.


a. I used to use SU2U as my "Deactivate the touch screen" when using the phone, but I dont want to bloat the phone, so does anyone know of a lighter app that one could use?

b. Using Lite Diamond, I haven't been able to get Weather working. I've been able to select my city of choice, but I can't get into any settings? Any ideas?

c. I'm loving SPB Shell!! But I want it to ALWAYS be up as my Today screen. Most times, I get the BG image and Calendar / Contacts as my only selections. The only way I've been able to get the shell working again is turning the phone on and off (Not a soft/hard restart, but just pressing the power button )

If you go back to the previous page and reference post 1086 you might find a solution to your issue of programs closing.

- I am in the US and I have T-Mobile...

1- Run the Wizard 1st - verify it is correct, if not set you selection and save it.
2- Open Connections, go to the advanced tab,Select Network make you selection... If you have TM select TM Data on both fields, press ok...
3- Select the Task tab and Setup my proxy. Remove all checkmark and press ok....

4- Wait 30 sec and try your internet... If it does not work try a soft reset... If it does not work re-flash...

Just wanted to let you know that I screwed up the proxy settings. Funny thing is that I tripple checked em and was just reading them worng! :mad: Good thing I looked one more time LOL. Anyway everything is working and this is the first rom that I could get weather working with the proxy hack.

I gotta say this is the best rom I have ever used! It's gonna be hard to change, but Ttran never fails to put out killer roms! All my iphone friends even say that my phone looks amazing. Thanks Ttran!!!!!

i am using the spb lite 6.0 and have used it for a couple days did a soft reset about ten minutes ago and now all that works on my phone is the spb shell if i try to open any program be it a game or just opening my text inbox it is unresponsive if i hit the windows button the drop down menu no longer appears does anyone have any idea what is wrong? a; do some research on morto script cause there's a script out there that closes S2U2 when u open it ... that gives u back your memory...
b; u have to download and install th spb .cab file then u will be able to get it to work if u like SPB buy it it's worth it ....

Look like you flash OT v6.1 Lite Diamond SPB. TTran's take out some stuff to free more space on this version and fix some issue on the v6.0.

If you want OT v6.0 Lite Diamond SPB, go to post # 369 to download it.

Actually, I figured out a faster way.

1) Copy all the files from the SPB Mobile shell folder to your PC except for MenuLauncher and MobileShell
2) Then download and install SPB Mobile shell.
Don't worry It won't take up any more program memory then it's already taking up on the rom. In fact, initially you'll gain some program memory.
3) Softrest, now you'll see you have the original theme but with the settings option in place.
4)Now copy those files I told you to copy to your PC back into the Programs --> SPB Mobile Shell directory
5)Soft Reset and you should have the diamond theme back with the setup button in place.

you can check the developers and hacking thread for spb shell 2.1 themes and find the theme there and some other cool themes.

the evolution in the rom developing is going in a certain direction, which i understand, only i have a more simplistic aesthetic when it comes to the form and visuals of the roms.

check out the open touch 4.0 thread, and in ttrans first post he has directions on how to flash for newbs.. and the info is not gone, try a google search cause the info is always in the archives.
also you will also need to read up on how to hardspl your device.

i found that if you're just a little more patient.. and wait for the flashing cursor to type appear.. it won't go to dialer

Hey im on 6.0 lite spb and my mobile operator is showing right were the battery indicator is on the top right. i havent added anything just reflashed this. Does anyone know how to get rid of that???

So I loaded the SPB Diamond ROM for a friend that works at a T-Mobile store, he liked it so much that he has ben showing it to his customers. He texted me today and said one of his customers wanted to pay me to load it for him. I was like well I could do that but the guy needs to know that I did not design this ROM and that he could do it for himself for free. I advised that if the guy insisted on paying for the install I would do it but there was no way I wanted any credit for someone elses work :D

After seeing how easy ttran and others have made it to swap ROMs, I loaded all three of these, settling on the 20226.1.3.0 with spbmenu loaded.

It's got a few small quirks, but nothing I can't handle with all the help that can be found on this board. No serious navigation or usability issues to report. All connectivity and music/video options I use are run fine.

I've read through all the posts here (been lurking awhile) and am of the understanding that there's at least one more version possibly coming in a few days or so - is that correct?

Either way, ttran, thanks for the opportunity to run wm6.1 on my wing. I was really disapointed when it didn't appear from t-mobile on the last update and am digging flashing my phone. ;-)

How do i re install active sync on the phone? I can not syn via bluetooh and I am pretty sure it is something with activesync on the phone. I get an error that tells me "cannot find an existing bluetooth partnership with a pc that supports ActiveSync." I loaded the original stock rom back on and have no problems with bluetooth. Load 6.1 SPB Lite and get that error. So I am pretty sure it has something to do with activesync in this rom. I have searched for 2 days now both on xda and windowsmobile.com and on google and can not find out how to install the program on the phone. Everything I find talks about installing it on the pc but nothing about installing it on the phone. May I am not putting in the correct search terms, but can someone please help me?

I got lucky somehow. I actually went in to the weather app and typed in my city and state, its now grabbing the weather for Virginia Beach VA. Might be worth a shot.

I have light diamond spb installed and love it. I have a question about the three flip contact pages. I am not sure if this post belongs here or in a spb thread. I have deleted a contact from my phone and the box on the page went grey(no plus sighn like before) and now i dont know how to add a different contact back to it. When i click on it it takes me to a blank contact page. And i would also like to know if i can add more pages other than the vip personal business pages. I have searched around and read this entire thread. If anyone can point me in the right direction thanks in advance.

Hey Ttran your the man this one unbelievable, im happyer then a punk in a picker patch, Um more then a fag up a dick tree, I'm here to tell ya all this one is Sweeeeeet!!! I have to tell ya tho i was very disapoited when i lots SPB shell and you replaced SPB for contacts :eek: and you took spb or today setup, i was like Grrr, well till i hit the 5th button, that was very sinky, slick tho, I darn glad i started rereading from page 1 again
Every thing works right out the box well after the prozy setup, its the boom. you really out done your self with this one, you put the best of both wrolds in one rom yeeeeehaw your the man, I my self love the SPB shell as soon as i see it i registred it, even tho i was having so much truble with the first releas, hey i like it that much.

Then after i use the network wiz it changed the spb soft button on today screen to contacts, and the spb mobile shell icon was gone diapered, no way to make adjustments.
Then when your in today setting click items theres is no spb mobile and a few others are gone as well.
And im having trouble with MMS it work to send but when i receive one its like a text message, not an email. is there a way to fix that.

i know what he means it shows up as a text but there is a picture icon kind of small if you click that image icon it opens up the mms. i do like it like that myself.

It already been stated couples time in this thread already. In v6.1, TTran remove some stuff to free up more space. So the SPB mobile shell setting has been removed too. It you want to have it back, read the post # 1101.

The rom is absolutely amazing. Ridiculously faster than the factory rom, and infinitely more functional. Only issue I'm having, and it's not even a major thing, is when I hit the X button to close apps it keeps them running in the background, even if I set the option to close apps when I hit X. Is this a known problem?

So far this is the only way to get the spb setting back. Actually it's not take that long, less than 5 minutes for the whole thing.

It will also so you how to make tumbcal open instead of windows default cal. It will have a cab that reopens spb if it closes to today screen. It will also show you how to edit and change spb part by part not just theme to theme. I use a 4 diff theme parts for my theme.

Aw yes but if you have the spb shell you can configure it and add a lot of Items to the today screen very cool stuff bat, alarm weather and 5 contacts the fix for this is at 1101 very easy fix try it out and really open the endless possibilities of what this rom has to offer

I will write a readme later. I put these up for ttran but anyone can use.

Unzip Spb Mobile Shell theme.rar and put files in \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell and soft reset.

greatbal Games and Tasks Menu Items.CAB - This will add task menu and game icon to programs tab. Credits to greatbal

spbwatcher.CAB - This will reopen spb if it exits to today screen. Credits to Thedumbkid

MortScript is required for the next two scripts. Type MortScript in google to download the newest ver. Put the 2 files in the folder you installed MortScript.

You cant add contacts to spb contacts tab after installing SwitchSpbContact.mscr script. Work around is to run script again to remove regestry edits then add contacts then run script again to set icontact back as spb contact manager.

Add contacts to spb contact tab.

SwitchSpbContact.mscr - This will edit regestry and change spb contact's to Icontact. Credits to Nitestalker

SwitchSpbCalendar.mscr - This will edit regestry and change spb calendar to Thumbcal. Credits to Nitestalker

I like layout too... Either way I am fine... Can you remember to add the SpbWatcher or something similar on the Spb version to redirect the Today page to the Now page... It is working great and I think that most of the OT Spb users are now using it or would like to use it - Having it incorporated might allow for an option to enable or disable it for the ones who want from time tit time to go back to the today screen...

I will add a ver with 2 and 3 contact pages :) If you want both clocks I can add aswell but you cant swipe with your finger through all the pages if there is more then one tab per page. Example: if you have two clocks and swipe it, it will go from one clock to other clock instead of switching tabs. I tried the 3 tab contacts but I like going from each page with one swipe instead of having to press button to get out of contacts.

I hope this helps ttran out alittle on the ?'s and pm's. The micro ver must be installed via sd card. Once the rom is on the sd card hold down camera button and press reset button while still holding down the camera button. This will make the bootloader check the sd card for a image of a rom. Next it will ask you to press a key. Press the vol button down to start the install of the rom. If it goes to boot loader without asking you to press a button then your sd card is 2 big and it cant read the rom fast enough. To get around this you need to make a small partition around 200 mb's on your sd card thats has 1024 clusters and is fat32. How to make the partition? First backup sd card on pc. Use wm5storage to make the sd a useable hd on your pc. Then right click on my computer and select manage. Then select disk management. Select the drive thats the sd card and delete the partition. Remake a partition with around 200 mb's and 1024 clusters and is fat32. I have a 2 gb card and i have 2 partitions. one is 128 mb just for flashing and the other is for storage. I hope this helps.
