I will write a readme later. I put these up for ttran but anyone can use.

Unzip Spb Mobile Shell theme.rar and put files in \Program Files\Spb Mobile Shell and soft reset.

greatbal Games and Tasks Menu Items.CAB - This will add task menu and game icon to programs tab. Credits to greatbal

spbwatcher.CAB - This will reopen spb if it exits to today screen. Credits to Thedumbkid

MortScript is required for the next two scripts. Type MortScript in google to download the newest ver. Put the 2 files in the folder you installed MortScript.

You cant add contacts to spb contacts tab after installing SwitchSpbContact.mscr script. Work around is to run script again to remove regestry edits then add contacts then run script again to set icontact back as spb contact manager.

Add contacts to spb contact tab.

SwitchSpbContact.mscr - This will edit regestry and change spb contact's to Icontact. Credits to Nitestalker

SwitchSpbCalendar.mscr - This will edit regestry and change spb calendar to Thumbcal. Credits to Nitestalker

that will happen cause the device is trying to recalibrate the ram on the phone when switching from portrait to landscape mode... the way around it is to open the keyboard and give it a few seconds and then type, or use the onscreen keypad with the stylus..
the wing is just underpowered and with throttle launcher running you have make adjustments in how you use the wing... that was a issue for me too..

Thanks for your help. I greatly appreciate your response. What was the solution to fix this because it still happens to me when I wait and open the Wing. Is there a cab file I could use for the keyboard or a fix for it ? Should I switch to a different rom?

I need something that will tell me the temperature up to the minute, and just seeing a high and low is really not all that great for me .. I live in Phoenix which can be termed as hot and holy $hit!! But I do like to know whether it is 100 or 115 .. I can then determine how loud to whine about wanting Winter to come around.

As an example I have been using Weather Panel for a while now and love its functionality and would love to replace the spb weather with that program, or something comparable.

I am curious about perhaps re-mapping that button (weather) to point to another weather program, or even a mortscript to do the same ... Does anyone have any suggestions other than going to tl ... I have been using SPB prods for a couple of years and I am not to sure about tl yet ...

Have you double clicked on the weather screen and seen the second weather screen? It gives morning, day, evening and night temp's. Look at the pic's again and look at the second weather page. I will see what I can find out about other weather options.

Did some reading and spb does not support that but they are working on it. They only way to point to an different program would to reverse engineer there program and change the code. I am really thinking of doing this if spb does not add abilities to customize things. Its the best interface I have used but not customizable.

From what I have heard current temp is not a high priority for SPB, so if someone could reverse engeineer it, that would be very helpful. I for one think a weather program without current temp is useless, but I love your SPB interface Shep so I tolerate SPB.

Has anyone got the bluetooth GPS to work with this ROM?

It was working fine on op v.4

Now with OP v. 6.5 lite TL I can not get any applications (Live Search, G maps) to get a signal? I check my settings many times.

I really want my GPS working again.

The size that I have always used is the second smallest ... It does not work
The second smallest and the next one up are the same size.

ttran, curious, is the spb shell u have to register $30? so far its been nicest rom, has everything ready to go, the diamond lite edition.. but it stated its got 12 more days to go. I think its the 5 tabs on bottom and softkey to icontacts that I have liked most.

Anyway to replace the current dialer on OT 6.5 lite w/o SPB or TL with the older HTC dialer found on OT 3.0???? I think the new dialer is problematic... What is the mail tab used for? I cant get any data in it. When I get an email theres a little green bubble at the bottom of the screen but I cant select it or do anything with it.

Im having a problem with initializing. Everything was up and running fine for a while, then it just froze. I restarted the phone and the today menu wont come up. It just sits there "initializing" where the today screen should be. I can still see the start menu and the bottom menu, but i cant do anything with them. Its unresponsive.

to the last dude with phone freeze, just rerun the prog, it will work second time... if u are using papas instructions and got the kit for it that is... it would freeze first time and not work for me and the second time it would work like a charm

I've been able to change it very easy, sinced TL is very easy to work with.

Just go to the throttle page for step by step help.

It's in the settins part, once you change and save your setting it should work fine.

I know this may be a bit off topic, but does anyone know how to change on TL the Home screen where it shows Upcoming appointments, how can i make it show the Tasks there ? i use Tasks way more than Upcoming appointments as i write my HW and other to go info on there and would like to have it right there on my screen. I believe it should be in the home.xml but i dont know exactly what to put there. Have searched all over xda and cant find a solution.

I tried playing around with tl over the weekend and it wasn't as responsive as I had hoped so I went back to the 6.0 lite spb version ... I love it, but would love to see a larger version of this one (and with a different dialer ;) )

It is a completely different rom from the stock T-Mobile ... I use the Wing myself and can attest that it in fact does change it to 6.1
This rom has amazing features and actually makes the Wing run 10 times better than before ... Don't be afraid to reach out to people here on the forums .. everyone was a beginner at flashing at one point ;)

The battery drains quicker due to the radio version.

It offers better reception but drains the battery more.

You can always flash the original radio to regain your battery as needed.

Also, if your over clocking the phone with batterystatus it will drain it even more.

Post your radio version that your having issues with.

If I have time I will post the original radio for you and others to enjoy.

I am having the same problem the mail tab don't work, I tried going into the settings for Touchflo and clicked on the mail tab, it said Activesync...how do I change it? For say multiple email accounts?

On another note this is the best ROM I have DL and I have DLed plenty, just my wing has seen 4 different roms, 2 of yours!

One other question anyone: where can I find like an instruction manual LOL on Touchflo 3d or throttle launcher ( been to both "official" sites but nothing but fuzzy videos.

1>load the settings page on thottle luncher
2>tap touchFLO3D
3>on the bottom of the page scroll till u see Mail tab
4>on the mail tab u want to only change the mail Account' to whatever account you want and it must be same as or exactly what is under ..>START>MESSAGING cause its case sentive so if u see Hotmail don't type hotmail... won't work
5>you MUST tap on save, then ok, then reload today
FOR Hotmail users
6>now u want start, messaging, menu (on the bottom right), hotmail, then 7(Email) now set message preview size to 2,500 then done .. close all the windows till u back to today screen and now your golden

I used your OT v2.7 Biggie on his phone because I was hesitant to go to 6.1 because his original OS was 6.0. But this ROM is nicer and I thought I'd hook him up. I flash a Tilt almost regularly but I've been able to find official updates and such so I've been able to update my phone prior to flashing any 6.1 ROM's. T-mobile seems to be slightly different.

Ok but remember this, once you've DL'd WeatherPanel it will create a Today plugin. Once you set it up go into Start>Settings>Today>Items & make sure it is not checked. Then go into TouchFlo3D>Weather & Uncheck Flash Weather, Then change your City Name, scroll down to the Plugins and check Weatherpanel, Save and Exit. Once you've done that reset TL.

I am going to have to figure out a way to make this work with SPB - I am not the biggest fan of TL as of yet. I might have to reverse engineer the program to make the weather button point to WP or figure something different out.

Thanks for the icons ... Now I have even more of a reason to tear into SPB and make this work.

The battery drains quicker due to the radio version.

It offers better reception but drains the battery more.

You can always flash the original radio to regain your battery as needed.

Also, if your over clocking the phone with batterystatus it will drain it even more.

Post your radio version that your having issues with.

If I have time I will post the original radio for you and others to enjoy.

Honestly i havent noticed much difference. (Besides battery, i'll switch tonight and check how my reception is at school 2morrow. I didnt expect it but i was jut out and i see my battery is at 10% and i kinda panicked )

You dont need to flash to factory rom to have the old radio, you can just flash the radio.

This thread is for Open Touch, not Touch It. Nevertheless, try removing your SD card if one is present. If that doesn't work try a hard reset.

If you haven't installed a custom ROM before you need to look at the first couple pages of this thread and read the links on "how-to" and download the required utilities.

Not a major issue, but does anyone know a workaround or registry edit to remove the T-mobile indicator?

For the battery life indicator, you can go into options on quickmenu and turn on the battery indicator. It will put it on the top bar to the right where the taskmanager icon is now. It will not show the taskmanager icon anymore, but I use quickmenu's task manager to shut down programs anyway.

As far as the date thing goes, I'm having that issue too but I have no idea how to fix it...

I have the same issue. Soft reset sometimes resolves it temporarily.

Hey there robpet2. I don't live in a border of a time zone... Regional settings are fine and the network wizzard was run already without impact.

Any other hints/tips are welcome!

I have a Wing and OT 6.5 wo TF or anything. This is NOT an OT or ttran issue, search Google, it is widespread and most likely a WM6.1 issue.

The issue is that the time zone gets changed to London/Dublin GMT 0 on its own. I am on east coast time. I reset it back, it resets itself. It is not an ActiveSync issue as it does it without being connected to PC. The fix that some have come up with in other forum will not work on the version we have since the phone\settings\time zone tab is not present. There are questions as to whether that actually fixes the issue anyways.

I can reset the time to be accurate, then it is not noticed. But the problem is with time stamps on any activity becomes inaccurate (which is how i noticed the problem since the initial time it sets time zone as london/dublin but the time itself is accurate to where i am on the east coast.). Then once i sync it with my PC, the times are incorrect in some programs, but not all.

The main issue is that the phone resets the time zone to GMT 0. Or the ROM or some other program on the phone.

We need a fix!!! please help. I will keep searching around other developers, as this is not device or ROM specific. All carriers, all cooked ROMs, all devices are having this same issue. Some don't notice it until they sync, some dismiss it. Most are annoyed.

This is the chance for our XDA name to get out there as the ones who figured it out. :)

Unfortunately, TMobile wants to do all of these tests (while I call them from another phone), like hard reset, etc, etc.. to make sure the "w" key is not properly functioning before they send out another one to me. I have installed Open Touch v5 on the phone.

My question is this, will I be able to perform the operations that they need me to with the Open Touch? Or, will I need to reinstall the original rom that was on the phone while they take me through the process?

Any help is appreciated.

I'm currently at the "rainbow screen" Red, Green, and Blue. I have IPL 4.10.0002 and SPL 4.10.0000

I'm able to connect the USB as "usb" appears at the bottom when I connect the cable.

I used the herald-uspl.exe to get things started and everything went as it was supposed to until it started to write the rom to the Wing.

When it's going through the process, from the RUU folder, the flash utility doesn't show me the rom version currently on the Wing but shows the one it's going to write to it. After about 2% of flashing done, the Wing shuts off and I get and Error 270.

I don't know what to do at this point as activesync no longer sees the Wing and when I try to re-run HERALD-USPL-beta3 the Dos process doesn't work. I ran Hard-SPL-Herald and that did something but where do I place the nbh as there is already one in the folder?

damn I guess Im not the only one having problems with Active Sync. I just flashed to 6.5 from 3.0 but now active sync won't connect. However, when I plug in my other wing with version 3.0 installed, active sync connects so it's definitely something with the 6.5 rom.

Thats very strange since I'm able to connect to activesync when I was cooking version 6.5.

I wanted to try reflashing the ROM but I can't get active sync to connect so I don't even know how to go about running the Herald uspl :confused:

ACTIVE SYNC PROBLEM IS FIXED

I had to do the following:
I found this somewhere... It has something to do with not being the administrator on the PC and firewalls...


On the phone, go to:

Start>Settings>Connections>USB to PC

Uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality"

This will work... However you need to reverse it if you want to use "Phone as Modem".

I dont wanna mess my phone up, see I have my phone hardspl already and when I went to download your 6.5 I seen only the nbh file so I was reading where you said to place that inside the beta hardspl folder. Im kinda confused do I put it in the yang hardspl folder I have since my phone has that one or do I need to use the Beta one you posted. That said, I'm not sure if it's just my phone or it's the rom but everything seems to be so slow. It takes a good 2 seconds to load the landscape menu and also when switching between icons on the home screen.
EX: If I want to check my messages and then go back to home, it will take a few seconds and then switch over.

The other problem I have with this version is the SMS/MMS. No matter what I do, I can not receive MMS. I even tried to send myself one, it does not arrive at all. The other thing is that when I click the SMS message icon it shows the last message in the notepad but doesn't give you an option to look at your inbox [unless I missed it?]. I think it would be a lot more functional if the up and down arrows could scroll between messages from different people instead of different messages from the same person. I am constantly texting a dozen or more people and it's difficult and aggrivating to keep track of things with this new rom IMO.

THat said, and again I don't mean to offend [please clarify if this is just problems on my phone] and I reflashed my phone to your 2.7 ROM. IMO that was the best ever. The only thing I want is the feature where SMS messages look more like IM messages [like it does in your 6.5 version]

Nope it's a little slow to me as well but I thought it because it was fresh on my phone.

gullums' Manila2D V1 was a lot faster but I wanted to tryout OT6.5 still trying to find a good rom that has threaded sms/mms built-in. I also found Manila2D to be a touch easier to config but I still want to give OT6.5 more time before I go to something else because overall I like it so far.

Please update to version 7.1 since this rom is out dated now.

The main reason it runs slower is the fact that TL moves a little bit slower.

The newer version is a lot faster now and has a lot of cool features.

If I try to flash it tells me that it cannot read the current phone information saying that it its connected correctly even though it is. Is there any reson that the scrolling of files in OTP v6.0 is much faster than in OTP v6.5 ? Is is a regedit or something ? I really like th fast scrolling and the v6.0 is the only one ive seen have it. thanks in advance

Make sure you run htc network wizard to insure the proper network configuration has been setup.

Tried that, to no avail, like 3 times. Still has that stupid G. I cant find my usb cord for phone to just reflash. Missing calls. I squeek out a call to voicemail and friend once. My antenna (?) icon shows 3 bars and never had this issue really. Frustrating.

thank you ttran for the hard work you put into, its a great ROM. I already try most of your ROM and finally decided to stay with 6.5 lite without touchflo (touchflo is promising but for now still need improvement) and I just use HTC home plugin. Maybe I'll try tflo 2D later
The small issue I have is with wm player, i dont have this issue with your other version 4.0 , 5.0.
1. when playing music and open other program sometimes it will skip to next song, but i dont mind this cause I love using audio manager anwy
2. when playing video file and I try to open other program it just paused, any idea how to fix this cause I want to able to take down some notes while watching it.

Maybe someone else can correct me on this, but I believe that Win Mobile is not capable of running more than one program at a time. At least in my experience, a program that logs wifi points will do fine when "on top" but if put in the background behind another program, it pauses. I've also noticed that Media Player stops to allow me to change the volume, then I can un-pause it.

Just my guess as to why it is like that.



To answer another question... the scrolling speed is a regedit I think I saw it in Schaps advanced config.

When I got wing out of the box and even after I flashed with open touch earlier version 4.0, 5.0, the wm player was able to play video or music file on the background while I'm doing my work with office excel or word even viewing some picture, so I was thinking it has to do wiith some of registry key.

I've been busy working on the current release and finally have a little time to review this one.

It's hard to say since the builds have changed so much since v4.0 and 5.0.

The build numbers have gone from 199xx to 200xx which could also make a big different in the way windows mobile reacts.

I will surely look more into this once I've done with my current release.

I like this ROM Open_Touch_v6.1_Lite_Diamond_SPB, its cool. When trying to install it on my imate jasjam using the sd method I get the white screen and Loading... appears which is normal. After a few seconds a red number namely 68002 appears on the top of the screen and the three color screen and nothing happens next.
Can anybody help?

This is a great ROM, I just installed it last night however, I cant get Gmail to work (through its own setup) and I cant setup MSN either, it just gives me a link to go check it on the web broswer! what the heck Microsoft??

Both Gmail and MSN setup automatically without me having to do a thing before.

I think they MUST hire you so that they can stay in business with iPhone and Andriod now out.

Did you flash the biggy or the lite or the no tf/ sb version? If you flashed either of the ROMs with throttle already cooked into them then you are dealing with an older version of throttlelauncher(9.3) My suggestion to you would be to reflash with the light no tf/sb and install throttlelauncher 9.5 as it is faster and uses less memory and then go to the support tread in development/ hacking. then all the info and support you get will be up to date! There are close to 200 threads in this post, so please excuse me if these questions have been asked before. :confused:

I paid for SPB and I realy like the feel but my install has a few issues.

1)I cannot edit my weather settings. It works, but I need to chance the F to C and a few other tweaks. tapping the 'Edit-gear' button does nothing.

2)The unlock slide bar doesn't work.

3) SPB interface 'closes' every so often and I have to press the 'comm manager' button on the top right of the phone to switch it back on, then it is in locked mode. Is this normal?

4) Calendar does not slide to the next month, instead it pages to the next Item found at the bottom of the screen ie.'Programs-MRU' or home.
