This rom does not contain the standard UC feature, it contains an app called autocabs which will do the same thing but not during customization.

You simply add your cab files to /sd/cabs/ as with UC and then run my autocabs app and it will auto install your cabs.

Place the extracted Open Touch v2.5 Biggy.nbh into the Herald-uspl-beta3/RUU folder.

II. How do I flash an NBH file?

a. USPL

Step 1. Download Herald-USPL-Beta3. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=A4N36HLO

Step 2. UnZIP the file into a folder on your Desktop. Let's call it "MyFirstROM" for simplicity's sake. Notice that there is a folder called RUU within this folder now. Keep that in mind.

Step 3. Download your NBH file and unZIP or unRAR it into that RUU folder. Make sure that that NBH file ends up in the RUU folder, not within a folder inside the RUU folder.

Step 4. Place your phone into flightmode.

Step 5. Go back to the MyFirstROM folder and then run USPL.exe

Step 6. Follow the directions on the screen. EXACTLY.

* Your screen on your cell phone will go white around the 75% part of the "second step" now.
* ActiveSync will LOOSE its connection.

Step 7. One step 3 on that black window, the RUU flasher will pop up. Just follow the steps.

That's it. :-) Welcome to the flasher's world.

Disable Random Access and Enable Scrolling

With random access you must do the following to enable contact scrolling.

Click on the contacts button at the lower right hand side of the screen.
Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit

Now I know the following will sound strange but it will enable scrolling in the contact menu.

Repeat the following steps again, and the random acess bar on the right handside will go away and scrolling will work again.

Click on the Menu button
Click on Options
Uncheck "Show alphabetical index
Click on the ok button to exit

If you want to enable random access, just go back and uncheck the "Show alphabetical index"

How to turn off QuickMenu

/Start/QuickMenu/Exit

It will prompt you with "Exit QuickMenu?

Choose yes and it will not startup again even after a reboot.

Things to do after flashing your device:

Network Wizard

Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Network Wizard

Choose your location and provider, do not reset the device when prompted.

Connections

Go to \Start\Settings\Connections\Connections

Once completed save and exit

Touchflo - Only on older versions with TFSetting include - This one does not as it will work as default

Go to \Start\Programs\TouchFlo

Click on the TFSettings

Choose your view mode from the drop down menu and if you want sound while scrolling then check the Enable sound, if not don't worry about it.

Click ok to save, do not reset your device.

Go to \Start\Programs\TouchFlo

Click on Touchsettings

This part has already been filled out for you, just click on the save button to exit.

This step is needed so please perform it...

Now your ready to reset your device.

MMS/SMS Setup

Send Large MMS:
Registry: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
Key: wap2sendlimit1 (you can also change wap1sendlimit1)
Default: 307200
New Value: 1228800 (1200K)

Registry: HKLM\Software\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI\Size Limit
Key: sendlimit3 which will be set to the default of 300k. u gotta change it to 1228800 and than the 1200k will appear.
note u can also change sendlimit 2, 1 to be the same as what ever u decide to change wap * sendlimt* to be. once u do this the 1200k will appear.

Set the new value by going to Text/Multimedia --> Menu --> New --> MMS --> Menu --> Options --> MMS Options --> Servers --> T-mobile MMS

Okay first off I would like to say thank you TTran for all your hard work on this superfast,superbad rom called OpenTouch 6.0 Diamond Lite ( Spb version ).
Im gonna make this one quick and painless cause its a great job on the rom.
At first glance it seems looks like its gonna be slow being that it has spb mobile shell on it ( making a very nice looking diamond look ), But low and behold it’s a very fast and stable rom. No need to overclock unless you have some Hot Sauce for your wing.
Lets get to the numbers:

Activesync.. - Works great no problems just make sure you set up the Connections Setttings first

Battery - Seems strong, and you have indicator on the first screen of spb.

Connection Settings ( Network wizard ) - Use this to set up your network settings based on your carrier, already installed in the rom so no need to do anything else.

Contacts - You have 2 options in the rom, Icontacts and also Spb contacts, both work great.

Calender - Have all the important stuff right at a touch of the screen.

Camera - Works great, no issues.

Dial pad - looks good, very simple and diamond like… easy to use and while incall the interface looks great.

Messaging - works great out the box, threaded sms works, MMS WORKS - NO HACK NEEDED.

Bluetooth - Works great, easy to ocnnect to device.

Weather - Works, great display for it on spb shell ( configure the weather by installing the weather cities database or install spb weather and it will carry the settings over to spb shell ).

WiFi - Not tested ( I don’t use ).

Internet - works enough said.

Games - bubble breaker and solitare ( basic cause it’s the lite version )

Office - No office ( Lite Version )

Internet Sharing - ( not Tested - I have total internet )

Media Player - Windows Media Player - Nice Skin

Overall ----
Great work Ttran even though it has Spb mobile shell on it, still good work. Fast rom no need to overclock, no bugs that I found so far ( the little stuff was easy to fix - like the weather was easy ).
Config the buttons on the device to what you want with no problem. Even though im testing this rom I might leave it on my wing for a few days cause its so fast. But have to move on to testing the Throttle Launcher Version.

Will update review but its late.

What you are saying is true. I am taking about trying to install the programs after the flash of v5 diamond lite edition. That is when As it looks like many are running in to issues installing the applications. (including livesearch)

sorry to here you gave up.. when dealing with flashing non oem roms you have to keep trying since theres usually something wrong somewhere.. also the roms that the cooks make usually contain items that they use on a consistent basis, or they sometimes make something that will work for them.. If you ever want to change something on the rom after you flash it may not work exactly how you like so sometimes you have to keep trying...
when I was running the 5.0ul rom it took me quite a few times to get it working... its not that difficult just take your time...

the micro...yes. You should be able to flash the other one using flash center. You will not be able to use the included flash center though.

I may be wrong though as I have been hardspl for a looooong time now.

you can try flashcenter cause it temporary hardspl the device... not sure but its worth a try.. the full version is great, no issues with it so far, and its fast... but ttran should be coming out with V6 very soon...

did you follow the instructions ttran posted on how to flash a rom... which is also on the first page of open touch 5.0 and 4.0 rom pages... it clearly has a small video posted on the 4.0 rom that shows you how to config the device after flashing - this sets up the data connection...
for the htc central configuration panel - you have to download htc home customizer.
and for quickmenu bar - just download the cab file that i have posted on my server - check my sig - plenty of cabs...
and it is your dismay/ problem with not reading before flashing that you have these sensless questions about setting up your device...

Folks,

I finally got a hold of WM 6.1 Build 20226.1.3.0 and its working great.
I just have to fix some small issues and we should be ready to go next week.

I'm currently using a version with Throttle Launcher cooked into the rom.

All you have to do is either download the Touchflo3d theme or WM 7 theme, install and your ready to rock.

I will have some new snap shots posted tomorrow on the first page.

the worst thing that can happen with flashing is that you brick your device (and this only happens when flashing, not from hacking the registry. ). take the time to read thru the threads of the OT5.0 rom series or whatever rom it is that you may want to try and see what others have said about the roms, find out whats wrong with the roms, and find out how they remedied first before flashing... I flashed to OT5.Oul rom and it had the messaging issue but with the help of forum members we all found a way to fix it.
p.s. with your phone being so called bricked you can still fix it. so have fun with your wing.

There aren't messaging problems with all of them, and there are fixes for each version, just have to do a little reading.

Glad I donated to the cause during the OT5 release. Can't wait for for OT6 SE! I recently tried a few TOUCH-IT and papa roms and I am back to OT4 which is my favorite rom to date. Yours are definitely the most user friendly roms and I love the apps you include! Keep up the good work!

i totally agree. black lite 4.0 was the one i liked the best.

that makes three. dare i say the creme of the crop. the stability, speed and lack of bugs make it IMO the best rom.

sidenote: quick menu, i'm loving it. hope it'll be installed on the new lite. if not, oh well... I'll work it out.

just happy that the jordan of rom cooking didn't hang up his nikes.

You can flash either method (Hard SPL or USPL) with the open touch series. It's better to Hard SPL your phone if you plan on flashing different roms though.

i tried the hardspl method that was mentioned in another thread but kept getting error messages, so i just use flash center for every rom.. used flashcenter for papas rom, and when i used wst it said my wing was already hardspld...

The Private SE version will be rleased on July 8, 2008 as long as everything goes smoothly from now until then.

i have to raise an issue here.

by forcing people to donate for the "special edition", ttran is essentially selling the rom (as far as my understanding of the process goes). It's my understanding that MS tolerates cooks and cooking because we're not really gaining anything out of it other than the odd donation. Because of this, selling the rom is essentially selling MS's intellectual property and efforts of developments, something that they've made available essentially for free (we just have to do some of the work). This is different than selling roms of ebay (which, as despicable as it is, is technically just "providing instructions")

Although i'm not a lawyer, i see a potential problem here, similar to the situation where we were forced by MS to remove the custom roms we had stored on the xda-devs servers.

I don't mean to stir up trouble, but i think we should consider the ramifications of essentially selling this rom before we continue, lest we and/or xda-devs are put into legal peril.

of course, this is all assuming that SE is not to be released to the general public and only to those who have donated

The second thing is when i first saw that ttran said he would pm a SE version for certain people, he stated it was for beta testers and people who have donated. i was thinking that only people who donated in the past were going to get this rom until i read there was a deadline to donate. having a deadline may seem like "selling" the rom however people willingly donated to support that ttran is still here for us doing what he can for us to further enhance and enjoy our wings.

I could see where there would be a problem if tran wasnt releasing public versions of 6.0 but everyone who didn't donate will still have access to 6.0. He is simply giving back to those who have given to him either by giving time or money. And by putting a end date on he is just stating that he is releasing the version after that date and then people will have to go with the public version. its not that serious... the issue is that this forum is searchable from google ( not just xda search ) and if a nut from MS decides to read this thread it could cause a issue.. .
I have no problem with donating to get a great rom with some extras, its the people that are complaining about it that will bring up a issue..

Then, everyone started donating quick to get in on it and to be nice, (he could have not included anyone else) he put a cut off date for donating before he was putting out SE to include people that were trying to jump in. It was not until AFTER everyone started to donate quick that he did this. My initial understanding was that it was to help people who previously helped him and then everyone quick tried to jump in.... Where is there any wrongdoing on Tran's part? I think that ttran's intentions were good. He wanted to do something special for the people who have shown support for him in the past. He said he was making a SE for people who beta test for him and have donated. Then everyone started donating so they could get in on the SE. Its not mandatory and there will be a 6.0 for people who didn't donate or beta test. I'm more than sure that it will be a great ROM.

I think it just goes to show how good of a cook ttran is and how many people like his ROMS that they wanted to donate and not miss out on what could be a great ROM.

Well, my best friend is a lawyer and I asked him about it and he stated that that that ttran isn't breaking any laws by creating and giving the rom to a select group of people. He has the right to create roms for anybody he decides to as long as he didn't state a price for the rom.

If you don't like what is going on here, go to another thread and state your opinions because it is not wanted here. This is an individual who is going to potentially piss ttran off and cause him to stop making roms. Please leave with all this negative energy you are causing. :mad:

Yes it is so sad that you chose to post a negative post for your 600th post. I for one donated to ttran, but unlike your posting stated I WAS NOT forced into it. I chose to donate of my own free will. I donate to those whose ROM's I use. I actually feel that I am contributing to their time. I don't know about you but I feel that my time is very valuable, as I'm sure ttran does too. Asking for donations is not the same thing as 'selling', if you wish I can provide definition of both.
Ttran's statement at the beginning of this thread did not leave me to believe that he was 'selling' his ROM, nor that this is what my donation was meant for.
I may not have a law degree yet, but what ttran is doing is not against the law...but instigating a riot is. :)

What is your point? There isn't anything in ttran statement about selling the rom. Any cook in this forum can cook roms and give them to whomever they want. The key word is give not sell. You are assuming and you know what the happens when people ass-u-me. Microsoft might have limitless financial resources, on the otherhand, this is something that wouldn't hold up in court because he isn't selling anything. They can choose to waste their money if they want.

The Private SE version will be rleased on July 8, 2008 as long as everything goes smoothly from now until then.

I've had enough of this talk about the SE version.
All it's doing is bringing me down along with the members of this forum.

There will be no SE version.

I will finish up the regular version since I've already promised.
As for future roms, I'm not sure at this time since I feel pretty down about everything.

TTran why do you have to pay attention to someone with a negative opinion like that? There is always someone like that everywhere. Someone who just want to spoil the fun when they can't have it. Look how many people here support you and happy with your rom. Without your rom I would sell my wing and get another phone instead.

When I donated, it was for your time and effort. I had no other motive, other than making my wing 100% better. Not that it needs to be said, but I will. I donated after using OT 4 Biggy( and being blow away by your skill). With no expectation of getting a then unknown thank you.

hey ttran. anytime your good at what you do you are going to have haters. they always want to spoil it for everyone.

I have not been able to donate yet, but clearly understand that "thank you's" are in order for everyones hard work. so I wait for 6.0

It's not about wining or loosing a battle. I do not want them to keep spammnig this forum and possible making me the person causing issues for xda-developers. I love this forum and would not want to see anything happen to it.

That's the main reason I don't want to talk about the SE version any more.

Every since I started cooking for the wing, I've always ran into issues with haters and kind of getting tired of it.

I spend too much of my time cooking the roms let along waste it on them.

Since I have so many supports of my roms, I will make the roms for version 6.0 even better then what I had planed for the SE versoin.

ust remember you have a vast number of supporters that will be impatiently waiting for whatever version of 6.0 you put out. Thanks for your time and work, and honestly you make the XDA-Dev site stronger. I personally would not be on this site if not for your roms. I've tried the rest and I always come back to the best......
