Description of wifi connection problem:
I flash Dutty's Diamond V1 Build 19588, radio 1.58.25.17 and HSPL 3.28, all work nice and fast except wifi. I have home wireless network and cant connect. Signal is full and network is available, but when i try to connect, after 4-5 sec network become unvailable and after 10sec available again (full signal)!? Network is open, data encription disabled, networ adapter is on server assigned IP address,...I check The WLAN key end in \TNETW12511...
I try with L26 v8 rom with no success and i try several radios but no luck. On the end i try with diferent SPL but again...:(
Now i begin to suspecct on hardware failure (but i recive signal!). Im desperate, please HELP! All other devices (netebook, iphone<-my wife, nokia n82...) working fine.
Now im with: Dutty's Diamond V1 Build 19588, 1.65.16.25 radio, SPL 3.28 and protocol: 25.83.40.02W (I know about radios and roms, but what exactly does a protocol do?(cant find on wiki anything)). I read carefully all thread linked with flasing (roms, radios, spl...) and try to find something similarly to my problem but i faild. If you need more info, please ask for.

Have you changed the WLAN power mode settings to Best Performance and tried that? Give that a shot and see if it fixes the issue.
Settings -> Connections -> Wireless LAN -> Power Mode set to Best Performance.

Maleksa,
were you running HSPL 3.28 before you flashed Dutty's ROM and if so which rom were you running before that it worked?

I had a similar problem and i fixed it by, unfortunately, reverting back to OEM status (AT&T Tilt) with the original SPL and then WiFi worked for me. I was then able to put on the new HSPL 3.29 and flash to Death ROM. all worked out well.

Give it a shot and let me know.

Hey bud i'm sorry but i don't have that issue. i was on my network and working just fine. no disconnects. I don't know what to tell you go back to the OEM rom and then try a different ROM and see if it happens to you on that ROM.

looks like the only problems left should be either your wireless router or your phone. Try using your phone on a different wireless router and see if it works. A default shipped rom should have all the defaults to just connect with a router.

I already try, and result is like on my home network.

Maleksa,

try to reset your router and cable modem then connecting with your phone. I would also try to change the broadcasting channel on the router from 1 through 11. If it works then you can security lock to just leave it open while disabling broadcasting the SSID.

Lemme know if have tested any of that or if it will work for you.

Are you using any sort of encryption key for your router? If you are, try turning it off and troubleshoot without. I've seen some laptops with WiFi exhibit this same symptom.

Hi Maleksa,

This may be a bit of a long shot but recently I had EXACTLY the same problem as yours. The problem lay with my router. Following a firmware update of my inventel router (Supplied by Orange , UK ) a new security measure had been introduced. In order to connect my TyTN II I had to first enter "Pairing Mode" on the router. As you don't seem to have mentioned what router you are using I thought it was worth mentioning. Anyway, good luck sorting this problem out.

I install PFScan and discover that signal strenght is 45 and from time to time droping to 24 (think thats bad, with OEM ROM is over 65), 6 chanel,...
Snifi give me signal strenght -56dB, IP 0.0.0.0, wep off, associating: no,....
Maybe some reg tweak may help, or i damned with WM6 and OEM ROM :(

Maleksa,
Did you try another 6.1 ROM? Try the Death ROM V4.1, its fast and full featured. i'm using it as we speak no issues yet and i connect to my network everyday via WiFi.

Try it and let us know if it solves your issue.

Humble, you can pass-through the Internet connection from your PC to your PPC. i wouldn't say that is a good test; however it would be interesting to see if Maleksa has different results.

I will like to try but, now i must flash new 6.1 rom. With OEM and wm 6.0 all works fine (but also slow:(). I notise one more thing, signal quality oscillate very much. (today i try my wifi on several hot spots, result is same).

Maleksa, i think before we mess up your phone we should put it back to OEM and get a replacement. Make something up like the phone doesn't make or receive calls. They send you a "new" one and we can work with that. Hopeful you are still within the 1 year warranty of the phone.

I already use OEM on my phone and no warranty:(. Think ill stick to this ROM, after all everything working (slow but working).

It can't be your phone's hardware if you're connecting to your home network fine with the OEM rom. The only thing left that might be different on your phone is the radio. And yeah, you might want to try to connect to a different network to see if something is odd with your home network.

When you flash a 6.1 rom does it detect your server in the list of devices you can connect to in Start, Settings, Connections, Wi-Fi ?? Or if you go into the Comm Manager and enable the Wi-Fi does it ask if you want to connect to your server?? If it doesnt then I can only assume there may be a problem with the radio that ur using with the 6.1 rom.

The most stable rom i have found to date is:
Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid v2 5.2.19716/5.2.19700
Alot of things work in this rom that dont on other roms even duttys newer rom

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388947

The best radio i have found that works with that rom is:
1.65.20.29

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393182
(scroll down a bit and yo uwill find a download link)

Also what version of HardSPL are you using to flash your rom?
I have seen people have some problems with 3.29 so I would recomend you use HardSPL v3.28 which works very well with Duttys 6.1 Hybrid rom

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=396922

If you try everything i have sugested and your wifi still wont work I can only determine that something in the newer WM 6.1 roms is not compatible with your server. I hope all this is of some use to you, please let me know how it turns out.

I have the same problem but only with newest ROMs released after official 6.1. If I use older ROM version from april and first part of may everything works fine.
But I found another thing. This problem occurs only with network with WEP and shared key on DWL-900AP+. I have no problem with connecting to my Linksys with WEP enabled (open key).

I don't know what is problem Linksys or D-link, or shared key instead open key???

For my Kaiser itīs the same shit. With a normal WEP 128 Bit Open Encryption everything works fine, but with WPA or WPAII Iīve never been able to connect my phone in any way thru WIFI - I tried in so many places... No Chance.

I have a D-Link server with WPA enabled and have absolutely no problems connecting with Duttys Hybrid 6.1 rom maybe you could try that (see my post on page 3) the other thing is what radio are you using with the 6.1 rom?

Duttys Hybrid 6.1 is before official 6.1 release, and works for me too. Try newer release and WEP shared key. I have no success with "Dutty's Diamond V1" or "L26_Kaiser_Diamond_V8_light".

Try to create your wireless connection in Wifi manager rather than letting it automatically detect it.

I have a few wireless networks which will ONLY work that way (the first time)

I create my connection in WiFi manager manually because automatically WM select Open Key by default. But thanks for reply.

This is only new ROMs problem, older ROMs works fine.
