Hello all, I read many many many threads about the current cooked ROMs for the Kaiser, but I can't find the answer to my question :

are the Diamond video/3D drivers working with good results on the Kaiser ?

Is the difference very important compared to the 6.1 official HTC ROM ?

Is the video reading really improved with the Diamond drivers ?

According to what I read, everyone says the last Dutty ROM is very fast, but nobody talks about video reading : is it still lagging ?
Same about the other ROMS (HyperDragons and others), they say the diamond drivers are included but "untested"...

Thanks guys !

Short answer (cos I'm bored of typing today :)). No, no-one has got the Diamond video drivers working. I'm pretty sure the Diamond has a different chipset to the MSM7200/7201 that the Kaiser uses.

EDIT:
Oh yeah, and it's also a VGA device. :D

Also, this would probably be better in the General Forum.:p

My question is asked to know what cooked ROM I may use ... That's why it's in the ROM forum ...

So if I understand well, that means that some ROMS (HyperDragon for exemple) do include the diamond drivers, but they are useless ?

It will have some Diamond Drivers in the ROM, not sure if the graphics ones will be there or not. Have to get a chef to help you with that one. :)

There's no answer to my main question at this web link :

Do the Diamond video drivers included in some cooked ROMS (like the HyperDragon ROM) increase the video performances of the Kaiser ?

Theres a simple answer to this thread...

NO!

If the diamond drivers worked, then our mission in search of the perfect cooked rom would be complete (as it stands, we are still mere padowans being loured to the dark side of the force) :D

if you've read it carefully, the answer is NO-- but the graphics performance increased on the new cooked ROMs are mainly because of some new drivers that improved drawing operations. You can see improvements if you would compare Dutty's April 29 to June 7 benchmarks. To quote:

The NLD ROM has an impressive graphics speed improvement on paper, which seems to be mainly due to improved BitBlt performance (BitBlt is used for copying graphics data between places in memory, very important for drawing operations - but many other processing intensive calls are used as well)

Thanks Dizzy for asking this question. I have been looking throught the forums looking for the same answer. (beats working)!!!
I thought that there hadnt been the true break through we have all been hoping for, but little rays of light instead.
My question is: if we havnt 'imported' the new drivers from dimond or elsewhere, how far are we away, if ever from doing so?

I say 'we' in the royal sence, seeing as i know nothing about cooking, just using.

For all those people that know the answer to this and might see it below themselves to answer a noob, just remember you once knew nothing about this as well.

cheers all

I dont't know whether it is real or just a joke, but NoThrills (rom cooker) said at the NoThrills V4 Beta Thread, that he has the driver - but it is not stable yet.

...so we will see.
I'm very pesimistic, but here are a lot of guys who are great (e.g. Niki Project Team who enabled Wifi etc)

There is definitly an improvement, i used different Laurentius Roms and i noticed that the playlist in pocket player for example loads and moves mouch smoother than in other roms. I don't think we will ever get working 3d drivers but it seems to me that the diamond drivers will increase the performance of the daily working, like menus.

Thanks a lot to all of you for your answers !
My main problem with all the last cooked ROM is that I can't find them in the french language and keyboard, otherwise I guess I would install one of them for sure.
I did a SPB benchmark of my device running the official HTC 6.1 ROM (but I didn't do a hard reset for that).
My graphic score is 3850, where all the cooked ROM are around 4250 ... The last Dutty is around 4900 !!!
So I guess my device would be a little faster from a "graphic" point of view.
