OK Guys,

This is a placeholder for Hard-SPL Dev edition - recommended for ROM Cookers and Developers only.

it's the same as the other except it doesn't require signing and blocks overwriting.

------------------

Done, see next post.

NOTE: This is NOT a SIM unlocker - it also doesn't unlock Security for other radios. if you need that, GO HERE (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414835)

ok, here it is now :) as I said the wait would be max 2 weeks in the *worst* case. well the case is much better than that ;)

this is only for people who know what they are doing!!! newbies who aren't sure what roms to flash, should go with the signed version of hardSPL here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400402

Installation Instructions are the same:

1) Download, extract to an empty folder.
2) Run RomUpdateUtility.exe, Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile
3) follow steps, check device for prompts after PC shows loading bar. it should go to black screen now.
4) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done.
5) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (volume down + reset, i.e. press volume down button and reset then keep holding the volume down key until you see tricolour screen) and verify the screen shows 1.40.OliNex.
note: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot, that is the OS version, not SPL!

INSTALLING THIS WILL HARD-RESET THE DEVICE

TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS:
- read the instructions.
- read the instructions.
- read the instructions.
- Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically (your device doesn't even go to black screen), please copy SSPLManual.exe to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually (you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious).
- if you get connection error in RUU after the device goes to black screen, then try a different USB port, also do not use USB hub, you can also try rebooting your PC, and can try using another PC. read the thread for even more tips that I don't remember now. also you can try unticking advanced network functionality in start menu / settings / connections / usbtopc applet.
- if SSPL-Manual.exe or enterbootloader.exe fails to run (says missing component or similar), try a hard reset of the device.
- CDMA (Sprint or Telus) diamonds need my other hardspl:, head over to: CDMA (not GSM) diamond hardspl (http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35839) - ONLY use this if your diamond does not use GSM protocol for radio!!! otherwise you will brick the device!!!

NOTE: this has overwrite protection, so don't try flashing another SPL using HardSPL.
if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, we will soon post a stock SPL downgrade package.

enjoy!

UPDATE 1: 1.37 Hard-SPL
for those who need 1.37 due to some screen fuzziness issues on some newer diamonds, here it is with hardspl patches:
- Developer Edition: can flash unsigned code. Version: 1.37.OliNex
- Signed Edition: can only flash preapproved signed code. Version: 1.38.OliNex
please see Attachment below for Developer Edition!!
for Signed Edition, see the signed HardSPL thread of course.

I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG. only flash the 1.37 if you experience the fuzzy display issue.

UPDATE 2: 1.93 Hard-SPL
if someone's diamond came with 1.93 SPL originally, maybe this HardSPL based on 1.93 will work better than the olders. I have a report that someone has black screen with older SPL's.
but even if your diamond didn't come with 1.93 stock, but 1.37 doesn't fix screen problems (fuzzy screen, flickering, etc.), it is recommended to try this 1.93 HardSPL.
if your diamond works fine with original HardSPL, no need to flash this one.
Version: 1.93.OliNex

IMPORTANT: all in all, I recommend you flash the original HardSPL, as that one is MFG and easier to deal with if there is some problem. only flash the 1.37 or 1.93 if you have screen issues.
if it was some other version and you still have issues after trying 1.37 and 1.93, then let us know in this thread.

STOCK SPL's: to return to stock SPL for warranty reasons: read post #39 in this thread!!!

Hi Olipro,

Does this one work equally well for SPL 1.23 and 1.34/1.35? There were some discussion about 1.34 locking up the Diamonds with now ways of going back to 1.23? Please advise,

What is the difference between signed and unsigned spl?

It means you can only install signed ROM's, i.e ones form HTC, Carriers, or ones signed by Olinex and the other people in Elite Team. And they won't sign ranodm crap, so gives you safety- if it's signed, it's ok to flash it.

Unsigned means you can install any random ROM you like, cook your own easily and install it without any fuss.

hey i've been following the threads here for the last few days as i should be getting a diamond next week, so thought i'd start catching up on my reading..

can i just clarify.. if i install hard-spl developer edition and want to go back to original ROM/SPL, i should just be able to flash the ROM from my provider without manually going in to Hard-SPL, and everything will revert?

EDIT: I uploaded 1.35 later because people couldn't understand there was no real difference between 1.34 and 1.35. so it is now in the second attachment in this post.
new: also uploaded 1.93 now.

if you have unsigned hardspl, you'll need to use the SSPL package (i.e. the package posted at the beginning of this thread), just replace the NBH file with one of these stock SPLs.

if you have signed hardspl, just go ahead and flash with normal RUU process (no overwrite protection in that one, as it is already only accepting htchackers signed files, there was no need for that).

edit: some people apparently can't figure it out or read the whole thread, so to save trouble, please read the following:

STEP BY STEP HOW TO RETURN TO STOCK SPL - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!

0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from this post (pick one of the attachments) in this thread.
2. also download the RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH.zip from the attachments in this post.
3. pick the SPL you want to reflash to (ONLY FOR WARRANTY REASONS), it's a .NBH file, put the NBH in the extracted RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH package.
4. run the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+5. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen.
that's it.

Do I have to relax one of the pressed tools before the other?

Hmm, I get a connection error a while after the black screen. And the SPL is not updated... Anyone else has seen this problem? And found a solution? Device connects normally though, activesync works like a charm using the same USB connector & cable.

EDIT:
Ok, used another USB port, now it worked... Was using a cable through a USB hub first, which apparantly didn't work out well...
Ok, now for the nice ROM goodies!!

we don't know what you are doing wrong if you don't describe your steps. make sure you run the included RUU after the device goes to black screen. confirm the RUU goes to 100%, at this point you should have 1.40 flashed.

the one you criticized (post #39).

so here's steps (update: I'm leaving this here only so search can find information easier):

HOW TO RETURN TO STOCK SPL - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!

0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package and the RUU-SSPL package from post #39 in this thread.

I'm following the steps as described by you in post 2.

When I use the software provided I get the screen in the attachment.

When I click next the phone screen turns black. The RUU goes to 100% and the phone boots up again. When I turn it in bootloader mode. The screen says:

DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL-1 1.30 OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0x30

And the RUU says: Congratulations! ...... etc.

Edit: Don't know what went wrong, but tried it 1 more time before bedtime. And for some reason its ok now. :)

I know this is going to sound crazy but...... after spending the whole of the weekend playing around with the stock uk rom (1.37) which came with my diamond on Friday I decided to flash this version of Hard spl and start using custom roms, everything went well until it re-booted it was then I noticed a fuzziness around the fonts and boarders of gfx’s at first I dismissed it as coincidence and continued with the setup (remember I was still running the stock 1.37 uk rom) after the autorun bit the phone reset and came back to life without any screen problems so I now flashed “TLR Diamond ROM - based on UK 1.37.405.1 + fixes / enhancements” which again went to plan however upon resetting I noticed the fuzziness back! So I continued to set everything up again which cured it upon every other reset! Well after 2 hours of intermittent screen problems I decided to reflash back to the stock spl and rom ready to send my faulty handset back but this is the freaky bit.......
after flashing back the stock 1.37 spl ONLY (just to make sure there no compatibles problems between roms’s and spl’s I find the screen to be back to normal and I’m unable to reproduce to problem again !!! So to some up is it possable there a issue between spl’s and rom version like with my Kaiser?
Oh and I did think it could be a loose connection and tried in vain to stop, start it by shacking and knocking my phone around.... but why after a weekend out and about would it start and stop so prescribed??

Oh and honestly THANK YOU Olipro, cmonex, tom_codon , and to all the cooks out there for making all our experiences so much better with these phone though YOUR hard work. Thank you.

Note - 12 hours after flashing back to the stock spl 1.37 I still cannot get the problem to recur.

More testing..... ok again everything fine all day then just now I reflash "hard-spl" back to enable me to flash "TLR Diamond 2" rom and guess what?.... its back I am convinced now that there is more to this than meets the eye!

Seers folks,

I got a problem here, I just tried to flash a stock ROM ( 1.37.401.3 ) to my Diamond.
The RUU from the original package says "wrong device ID", after this I tried to flash it with Custom RUU but there is also shown an error!

ERROR [244]: INVALID MODEL ID

I have unsigned Hard-SPL installed ( OliNex 1.4 ).

Shouldn´t I be able to flash every ROM I want? Or is it possible that the error results from an stock SPL that may is contained in the stock .nbh?

tell us what the modelid is in tricolour screen. DIAM100? something else?

The model ID is DIAM300.

I think the error was caused by the contained SPL in nbh, the RUU tryed to overwrite Hard-SPL which is locked.

I really could think about it before, its really simple...

well, what is this fuzziness exactly? can you explain more?
I'll try.... it’s like a very faint electrical interference around the edges of everything, I’m sure someone else must have noticed it if there was any real problems?? In the mean time all I do is hard spl my phone then flash the rom I want then flash back to the original 1.37 spl so I guess it’s no biggy I’m just surprised that I’m the only one with the problem?

Oh BTW I have a DIAM 100 with LCD Driver V11 if that helps?

I have a problem installing this SPL.
After I connect my phone, I start ROMUpdateUtility.exe. I check the checkboxes, click the Next buttons, it starts the process and then... Error[202]: Connection
But my Diamond does have a good connection (activesync with USB cable, I can transfer files).

Current ROM: the latest official HTC Dutch: 1.37.404.3

What do I do wrong and how can I fix this?

1) backup your current ROM just in case the other ROM is incompatible. look for kaiser backup pdocread commands, use pdocread -l to change the sizes (or it won't dump properly) then dump the listed partitions 00, 01, 02.
2) after you got your rom backup, in the NBH you want to flash change the DIAM10000 (or whatever is there) to DIAM*****. make sure NBH size stays the same. then flash

to everyone... 1) if it doesn't even start flashing the hardspl, use SSPL-Manual.exe 2) to enter bootloader to check version, volume down key must be held down until tricolour screen appears. reset button is to be pressed only for a sec, just like when doing a normal reset.

there's no really need if you dont have any problems, however with the kaiser rom it was found that the spl's did more than serve as a bootloader they discovered that they play a bios type role and could cause problems mixing them with some rom's.

read here for some background info > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2261226&postcount=2 < NB - NEVER FLASH A SPL NOT INTENDED FOR YOUR DEVICE

Edit/Delete MessageIf you put the Unsigned-Hard-SPL from Olinex (that is an 1.9 Mb file), that DOESN'T change your ROM...it just change your bootloader (and that you can see in the bootloader screen) in order to flash ANY other ROM (a ROM has about 100 Mb if it's not cooked to take out a lot from it). This is not possible if you have the original Diamond with it's original bootloader.
AFTER you install this, you should choose one of the ROMS available here on the site or one of the official ones and flash that one (for ex you can put the latest 1.37.401.3). THEN you will see the ROM version is different.

For the second question, doing a flash with a ROM from here, it will get rid of the O2 personalization (if you put a "universal" ROM like the official 1.37.401.3 mentioned above)

Hope it helps and I've explained OK (more experienced members can confirm if I said it correctly)

you will probably have to hardSPL it because the guy's post is incorrect.

it is not based on region, it is based on CID. CID is partially dependent on region but more varied than the base region (i.e. a region can have several CID's)

here's the SPLs... 1.23, 1.34, 1.37

if you have unsigned hardspl, you'll need to use the SSPL package (i.e. the package posted at the beginning of this thread), just replace the NBH file with one of these stock SPLs.

if you have signed hardspl, just go ahead and flash with normal RUU process (no overwrite protection in that one, as it is already only accepting htchackers signed files, there was no need for that).

edit: some people apparently can't figure it out or read the whole thread, so to save trouble, please read the following:

STEP BY STEP HOW TO RETURN TO STOCK SPL - FOR WARRANTY REASONS ONLY!

0. be sure to first restore stock OS, and stock radio. stock SPL is always to be done last!!
1. download the stock spl package from post #39 in this thread.
2. download the package from post #2 in this thread.
3. pick the SPL you want to reflash to (ONLY FOR WARRANTY REASONS), it's a .NBH file, replace the original .NBH in the package from post #2 with this SPL NBH.
4. run the RUU (or if needed, run SSPL-Manual.exe manually, then run RUU when it goes to black screen), it goes to 100%, reboots, done.
+5. to verify, volume down + reset, see version number on tricolour screen.
that's it.

This SPLs are draw from HTC official ROMs? or they are edited by crackers.

Hi cmonex!
Your work is so usable for us to flash our ROM!
But if I wanna downgrade my SPL to stock SPL with SSPL_Manual.exe I have missing feeling about your step-by-step instruction. I thought stock SPL 1.37.nbh files is included in the SSPL_manual.exe. If it's right, I don't change the nbh file inside of the SSPL_Manual.exe if I wanna downgrade stock SPL.
I used Vista and I have connection problem with RUU.
I tried a lot if things to use normal RUU process, but it seems I have only this way to downgrade SPL.

Same for me. After installing Hard spl 1.40 to my Diamond I noticed some flickering in Bootloader Mode. Then when I first start up the phone this "electrical interferences" are on each tab and programm. When I press the Powerbutton shortly to switch off the screen and the press the Powerbutton again to switch on the screen, the flickering things are gone till the next Soft Reset.

I havn´t tried to downgrade to another Stock SPL. But I will test it.

this is only for people who know what they are doing!!! newbies who aren't sure what roms to flash, should go with the signed version of hardSPL here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400402

5) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (volume down + reset) and verify the screen shows 1.40.OliNex.

Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe to the device and run it.
INSTALLING THIS WILL HARD-RESET THE DEVICE

NOTE: this has overwrite protection, so don't try flashing another SPL using hardSPL.
if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, we will soon post a stock SPL downgrade package.

I've got the same problem.

Once I started the RUU and waited for sync and started the Update the screen of the XDA goes black and the RUU loses connection to the phone. At the same moment as the screen goes black I hear the Win-Sound for unplugging an USB-Device (without me doing anything) and right afterwards it tries to install an USB device (Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM) but doesn't find any drivers...
In the active-sync window it says that the phone got disconnected. Same in the RUU.
So I only can softreset the phone (because after 15 min still no hardSPL happened) and everything workes as before.

When I try the same with the SSPL-Manual.exe it happens exactly the same. So even if I was trying to open the RUU then - nothing happens because it doesn't find the phone plugged to the PC. btw: i'm using winXP SP3...

i have some problem with the Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex

I connected my xda to the pc and done the steps how it stands in the programm

the programm flashes, my device and then told me thats complet

my xda reboots an i have the normal windows mobile version on my xda.

if i want to confirm that its installed, i want to go into bootloader mode (volume down + reset) my xda starts again only

i looked at Start->settings->system->geräte information(device information) an it says to me rom version 1.37.207.2 is installed

so the programm does not install the olinex version

can somebody help me please?

Same problem...everything goes as planed but when the device restarts there still the same romversion instead of:

Hard SPL 1.40.Olinex
DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex

Like it should say...tried with the copy over the file and started it there..but not really helping. Ive read the whole thread and didnt see any working answer to this problem.

EDIT: I FIXED IT :D Thanks anyway

/Best regards

you don't help me for my choice ! what's difference between 1.37 and 1.40. if 1.40 is better than 1.37 so why olinex make it. If 1.37 as less or more compatibility with ROM, it will be better for me to install 1.4, if 1.37 is the same than 1.4 but it solved flickering problem, i will install it.

do you understand what i said, i don't know why i will choose 1.37 than 1.40

Hello guys,

I've flashed my device with hard spl 1.37 because of the screen fuzziness but the problem still remain. Sometimes when i reboot the device it fixes the bug but not all the time.

I tried to flash the 1.93 version but i got a blackscreen during the flashing process. Then my TD restarted and i checked the version : it has been updated to 1.93

But for now the fuzzy bug seems to be gone ..

Well should i keep this version or go back to 1.37 one ? I'm wondering why i got a blackscreen during the process...

Hi,

I have been lurking and researching the possibility of installing HardSPL on my Touch Diamond. At the moment I am a little stumped.

I downloaded the folder located on the second post of this thread: Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip

I established a connection with my Diamond with Active Sync and then try to run the program. After confirming my current SPL and the new 1.40 Olinex SPL it attempts to flash the Diamond but returns with Error 202.

Current info from boot screen:

1.00.25.03
52.26a.25.09
1.37.00.00

When I go onto the Diamond and modify "Settings->Connections->USB to PC" and uncheck "Enable advanced network functionality", it seems to work and succeeds at 100% but when it reboots it is still at the previous bootloader.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

@cmonex

Would you consider "signing" Jocky's HSPL binary code so that OliNex HSPL users can cross-grade from OliNex HSPL to Jocky's HSPL in single easy step if and when required instead of: 1. downgrade to original SPL 2. upgrade to Jocky's HSPL?

It sounds fair enough since Jocky's HSPL allows for cross-grading to OliNex HSPL by design.

Also, I would suggest giving some good thoughts with regards to phasing out support for "HSPL-signed" version in future (sooner is better). It appers that majority of users are mass cross-grading to unsigned OliNex or Jocky's code anyway.
Other important consideration is that it's being great confusion for many as to which one to use? I also, see many questions coming from confused users reporting 0% flash error due to obvious certificate mismatch when attempting to upgrade to stock rom and some others.

My point is:

All these confusions obviously add some (if not major) _uneccessary_ hassle to your OliNex team and make you waste your precious time on posting explanation to issues that are not always are easy to wrap someone head around ;)

At this stage there are 2 teams in Diamond Forums that leading the game and likely proposed HSPL code "convergence" will help a great deal for OliNex team to concentrate on some more involving projects rather then following up on HSPL questions?

kind regards.

cmonex

SecureGSM: hey there. :)

1. no need to downgrade to original SPL, who suggested that was necessary? simply use SSPL to flash any HSPL, regardless of current SPL version. if you want to flash an unsigned HSPL NBH, then simply use jocky's SSPL package (which is the same SSPL, but the signing requirement is removed from it).

2. if you still really want to get the jocky NBH's signed, ask Olipro, all signing tasks are his. I never endorsed signing much (i.e. not more than absolutely necessary to support the team), it is his idea. also you can ask jocky if he minds (probably not, of course).
the only thing I like is the signed SSPL, which means morons can't flash junk in place of HardSPL. but of course that is moot now too, after jocky cracked the SSPL ;) (btw, I don't have a problem with him regarding that, but maybe it wasn't the best idea.)

3. as for phasing out the signed versions, we will need to discuss that with Olipro. I like the idea, and I do agree with all your points, but I'm not the only one on this team :)
I did mention the idea to him a while ago, but he didn't like it, maybe this changed since then, I don't know.
we can make an MSN groupchat maybe, so we all can talk about this.

SecureGSM
3rd August 2008, 02:07 PM
@cmonex

Thank you so much for the clarification re 1. and 2!
If that is the case, then signing of Jocky's HSPL is not a requirement anymore.

Re 3.:

Sounds great. Happy to discuss. I will see if I can catch up and chat with Jocky first and get back to you on Monday.

kind regards.

I'm experiencing continous reboots on my Diamond right now, don't know how to fix it... I would appreciate your help.

What have I done:
1. tried to update original Diamond from Europe with official RUU_Diamond_HTC_RUS_1.93.411.2_Radio_Signed_Diamon d_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe -> "device not supported" or something like that (I think it was a language mismatch: RUS <-> Europe ENG).

2. Flashed new SPL from Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip

3. Flashed RUU_Diamond_HTC_RUS_1.93.411.2_Radio_Signed_Diamon d_52.29.25.12_1.00.25.05_Ship.exe

And now I have a device that reboots all the time. Loader screen has the following info:
DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL-1.40.OliNex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
PSOC-Diam STAGE_PVT v0x30

While booting, at the time when the "TOUCH Diamond" picture is displaying, I see the following info:
R 1.00.25.05
G 52.29.25.12u
D 1.95.00.00
Then screen goes black, after that a slight vibro and "TOUCH Diamond" screen again. That process doesn't seem to stop.

I have tried to change SPL to something else - but with no luck. Downgrade using RUU-SSPL-withoutNBH.zip + RUU_Signed135stocksigned.zip + stockSPLs_htchackerssign.zip seem to do something (all goes well, without errors), but SPL doesn't change (loader screen has the same info).

Does anyone know what have I done wrong and how can I fix it?

for the 1° problem = go on setting ->all settings ->connections -> wireless LAN -> and finally POWER MOD, then change it for the BEST PERFORMANCE. It won't let your wi-fi connection get slow like my was

for the 2° problem = set ever COM 4 for the programs ports, and to make the first contact go on sky open, it will work, uhhh don't forget to download data from QuickGPS first.

you have region lock

either flash an OS that doesn't care about region lock (by default or patched not to care)

or this may also help: flash radio 1.00.25.05 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956 as this might unlock the region lock.

I am sorry that I am trying to look for the instruction running SSPL-Manual.exe, maybe this one tonight, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2307895&postcount=133, since it is my first time using WM6 and htc Diamond<- still in searching.

I have tried to run from Windows XP <- definitely failed, HaHa.
I have tried to copy all files to the device root directory, using Explorer locating the file and click it. Going to black (blank) screen, stop here since I have to idea how to run the RUU manually [no keyboard, etc.]

Eventually I can do it la~
[Just information for other newbie]
- Make sure the device and the PC Activesync in connected mode
- Copy the 'SSPL-Manual.exe' to the root directory of the device
- From the device, use Explorer to execute the 'SSPL-Manual.exe'
- From the PC, run the 'ROMUpdateUtility.exe
- Answer the 'Yes-Next' question and you are on the fly

At the end, thanks to all developers and the advices. I am going to next step flashing the English ROM now and God bless me...

Im a bit worried, I had the HardSPL 1.38 Signed version, and decided I wanted a nw radio rom.. So I was going to flash the HardSPL Unsigned 1.40, but during the process the ROMUpdateUtility crashed!? Im running Vista x64 and although my diamond seems to have come out unscathed, im not sure if I trust the flash went ok?

I never had the same problem with the Signed flash, any ideas?

EDIT: Seems like it flashed ok, I was able to install the Radio ROM no problem.. However I think this still needs looking at!

5) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (volume down + reset) and verify the screen shows 1.40.OliNex.

I still have Olinex 1.40, I want to know what are the difference comparing to 1.93 ?

1.40 work fine on mine (my stock rom was 1.37).

What are the job of Olinex Hard SPL ? I mean they are necessary to flash with custom rom or radio, but do they do somethink else ? Did they help the cooked rom ? Is it like a ... bios ? or somethink like that ?

Can anybody can highlight me on that ?

good question,

let me add someone.

After HTC has released thier rom update, i have the stock SPL verison 1.93. If i want to update to a cooked rom, wich HARDSpl should i use?

I know - use the search button - but in this many of threads many there are too many answers for to many questions. i miss an overview of the available HARDSpls and which one should be used.

for example: if i remeber it correctly there was an hint, that if the screen is flickering version 1.40 of Olinex's HARDSpl should be used. But now i have 1.93 Stock Version. Is it usefull to downgrade?

ok, 1.40 so

They just work really fine on my htc, I will keep it.

If they is a real good reason to switch, I will do but ... I think they is not, except you have screen issue.

Hi!

I'm having some trouble getting Hard-SPL on my phone.

I'v downloaded Unsigned-Hard-SPL-Diamond-OliNex.zip and followed the instructions.
The progress bar reaches 100% in like 5-10 seconds and it says congratulation and my phone reboots.

In the left down corner during the reboot it says (this is what i said before i tried installing Hard-SPL):

R: 1.00.25.03
G: 52.26a.25.09
D: 1.37.00.00

And in the right it says:

u or h (I think, it switches between those two every try I make)

I have also tried running SSPLManual.exe from the phone and then followed the steps from the RUU.

Is the screeen I'm seeing the bootloader thingy? Because I've also tried pressing volumne down + reset and I always end up with the same screen and the windows starts.

What could be wrong? Something I've missed? A noobie mistake? Would be grateful if someone could help me. Just ask if you need anymore information.

You have the hard spl installed. To check if it is installed you need to press the volume down button and then reset your phone. After that if you see 1,40 Olinex in the bootloader screen then hard spl is installed. You are checking on the wrong place.

Hello, I'm new here, so excuse-me if i say something stupid. I bought an unlocked Touch Diamond Orange. I tried yesterday to upgrade my rom with one witch has been provided by HTC (RUU_Diamond_hTC_Asia_HK_WWE_1.93.831.1) , but it didn't work. My laptop states that ERROR 262 occurred, and the red bar stays in 0%. I tried a few more times and it is still the same. My device is using SPL 1.20 OliNex. I read that I must not install hardSPL over my SPL because of warranty reasons. I don't know if the rom version, radio version and spl is original one. So I have many questions. I don't know if I have hard SPL or SPL.
1. How can I know witch spl, radio and rom version is the original?
2. Do I have to unload the current spl, radio and rom vesion and try to install a new one? How can I do this?
3. What I have to do to update my device rom without loosing my warranty? - I know that I should unload the new version to don't loose the warranty, but is the current version the original one?
Thank's for the attention.
Please help me.

1. heh, you clearly have the radio for sim unlocking. but don't worry, you can flash any stock radio version over this. 1.00.25.05 is quite recommended: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407956

2. you probably need to install the unsigned hardspl, get it from this thread, second post! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400950

3. if you need to invoke the warranty, then get the stock SPL back on the device along with a stock radio. wiki or this thread (see second post again) has the steps on how to put stock SPL back. direct link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2324837&postcount=20

When I started flashing my device, I decided to go for the safe option using Signed HardSPL, SPL-1.30.OliNex.

I have later found out that for most of the ROMs that are released the Unsigned SPL is needed.

Is it ok to flash the Unsigned HardSPL over the Signed HardSPL? I can't seem to find a clear answer to that anywhere

Hi Olipro, and all forum members reading!

First of all, thanks for all the great hard work on all the HardSPL's!
I had many windows mobiles in the past, and they provided great help to me.
One thing just came into my mind..
Since i have read on another thread, that the features of a chipset (which is the same in both the Touch Pro and the Diamond, if i got it right) are enabled/disabled by a license, which is biult in the bootloader (/SPL?).
Was that right?
Since the only thing i`m missing from my Diamond is the TV-Out, would it be possible in this case, to grab the license somehow from the Touch Pro, and flash it to Diamond?
Or to grab the SPL to do the same with.. or are they totally different?

Thanks in advance for your much appretiated time and help,
Kind regards
Kristof

As it says on the first page of this thread:

Anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically, please copy SSPLManual.exe to the device and run it. then once the screen is black, run RUU manually (you run the RUU on the PC, if it isn't obvious).

When I do this I get the "tricolore" on screen, but this is only on for 1/10 second and there is no way anyone can read what comes up on screen.

Do you have any other idea on how I can read what Hard-SPL I have ?

The problem I has was that No-One mention that I should hold the Volume buttom pressed until I get the "Tricolore" screen.

So the solution was to Press and hold "Volume Down" and hold it pressed until the Tricolore was showed on screen.

Now I can read what Hard-SPL I have and I can finally move on and upgrade to some nice ROM.

Hi all,

Screen is black.
Just wonder that is why reinstalled stock spl.

I think I made the same mistake (but there is a happy end).

Starting with an Orange (FR) Diamond, ROM version 1.37.x:

1. I flashed the 1.40 Olinex unsigned HSPL
2. then the HTC 1.93.x ROM update (got tricolor boot loader then progress bar... OK)
3. and then the 1.93 stock SPL just to have a "stock" Diamond (neither tricolor screen nor progress bar but the flash process completed successfully)

Of course, today I couldn't resist to the new 1.00.25.08 radio so:

4. I flashed again the 1.40 Olinex unsigned HSPL (neither tricolor screen nor progress bar but the flash process completed successfully)
5. just to try another adventure, I flashed the 1.93 Olinex unsigned HSPL
6. then I flashed the radio ROM -- the tricolor boot loader screen and progress bar were back, the process completed successfully...

OK, I will keep 1.97 HSPL ;-)

I really thank all the contributors of this forum, specially cmonex, Olipro, tom_codon, duttythroy, A_C, and all I am forgetting and who are making a great work.

Kind regards.

Hi guys,

i've flashed to 1.40 Olinex unsigned HSPL. In the earlier posts, it says that the HSPL has overwrite protection. So the question is, how do i flash from 1.40 HSPL to other version of HSPL?

do i need to roll back to the ori spl and then only flash to other version of SPL? Just wanna test out on other SPL as there's some problem with my edge/gprs connection..

I don't think so. I think it is possible to directly flash a HSPL over an existing one... But it would be safer to wait for the advice from an expert.

NOTE: this has overwrite protection, so don't try flashing another SPL using HardSPL.
if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, we will soon post a stock SPL downgrade package.

here's the SPLs... 1.23, 1.34, 1.37, 1.93.

All volume (ring and system) are in the maximum. Every day i loose many calls because of this problem. I have already updated the rom version with the one provided by HTC hong kong, but the problem continue. I have a ring delay problem too; it rings on the 3rd time, after the lights flashes. when the phone goes black, please go on with the RUU (yes it is normal).

do not use a USB hub.

someone also said that it might be worth disabling the advanced network functionality in settings on the phone before you start.

also, the NBH you want to install must be one of the SPL's I posted.

simply download one of the HSPL versions you want, it will be a RUU_Signed.NBH file, and replace the RUU_Signed.NBH with this in the original HSPL package. then go ahead and flash.

So, to go from a signed to unsigned SPL, I do the following:

1. download the signed SPL again
2. Unpack it
3. Download the unsigned SPL
4. Unpack it
5. Copy the file RUU_Signed.nbh from the unsigned folder to the signed folder
6. Reflash the signed SPL

no, that is only for stock SPL replacement procedure (it is intentionally made like that so users don't download that package instead of hardspl :P ).

basically, just get one of the unsigned hardspl OliNex package from post #2 in this thread and flash it

How can I check is it the OliNex Unsigned Hard-SPL or signed one after it was flashed?
Yes I flashed and have my doubts about what it is. In booloader it does show

SPL 1.40.Olinex

But when I start the RUU again it shows 1.37.118.3 spl (during upgrade)

And is there a list of supported ROMs?

eh, the RUU says that nowhere. that is OS version

1.40.OliNex is unsigned so it supports any ROM
