Howdy,
I am in the Chicagoland area. I'm wondering if there is anyone out there who knows where T-Mobile plans to market their 3G service? All I know is that they have started it in New York and Washington (state).....wondering how much longer I have to wait! :) Thanks

Ok so about 6 years ago I worked as a Call Center Agent for T-Mobile. And back then they were boasting how their are going to be rolling out 3G to replace GPRS "soon."

So given it took a few years to get to New York It may be a while for you.

Heheh, I know!....I guess I have been waiting/holding on to them just hoping that, if they were smart, they would roll-out 3.5+ (no such luck)

Lets see if the Texas gets it soon. I would be mad if they just jump the whole country to the west coast:mad:

The only thing that I have heard is that they are going to start off (after NY & Washington) in "major market" cities-whatever that means. I'm guessing that means major business markets, so Chicago 'should' be included. If this is correct, Texas and (Portland) areas would/should be included.

All i know is that Houston is a big business city so i would believe that it would have priority, in getting the network tested here

out here in sacramento/roseville california my sister's unlocked tilt pops the 3g icon sometimes, then goes no service (it doesn't have the 1700 band, just 2100). I don't know if this means it's starting to show up here... I can't find a worthwhile device with 1700 band to try it with!
