bugs reported:

I tried an OBEX File transfer over Bluetooth to my wife's phone after I flashed to 3.1.6 on mine. As soon as I start the "search..." it freezes up and I have to soft reset.
I tried using the "Beam.." in The File Explorer, or Send via Bluetooth with Total Commander with the same result.

Thanks! I have a question about backing up settings:
If I export my registry and turn in into a cab, under 3.1.2 then a run the cab on an updated version would I run into problems?

Well, I've held out since 3.04 and radio 3.27... I guess now is a good time to upgrade with these changes/fixes.

I'm a VZW XV6800 user; should I upgrade the radio or rom first?

edit- I can someone point me in the right direction on how a Verizon user needs to upgrade the radio to 3.49? I cant find the thread

not entirely shocked at much of the improvements.

19214? Hardly amazing since 19213 on 3.1.2, unless you can give me some info on anything important on this update. Otherwise id hold off till 3.2.x

sorry if that sounded a bit off note, i didn't want to sound rude, but i just reflashed 3.1.2 and all my apps which toke me half a day to do. So i just dont feel entirely compelled to do this update. Otherwise I've always appreciated your work, amazing stuff.

And ill be taking a break to, ill wait as long as i need to for whatever other updates you have for us :D .

Side note- DCD, How are you so knowledgeable on making your own ROM and everything that evolves making it? were you a phone ROM Engineer at one point or something? Something Ive been itching to ask, and the right moment, seeing you've actually quoted something i wrote! i said to myself, w00t~ Chance!

Love ya DCD ^_^

1 more question, aside from Diamond sounds that i see you've included in 3.1.6, well we see more diamond additions later on, in the Kitchen?

This may be an stupid question, but does this ROM update the PRI and PRL? Looking at your "Device Information" screen capture I am out of date on both.

this is my first post here. I am an HTC noob ... Was initially putting off burning a "custom" ROM to my phone when I initially got the phone since all these warnings saying "may brick phone"... But the TELUS ROM sucked so bad I couldn't take anymore rebooting my device every few days and resynching my Windows Live every time I rebooted since it would bust each time (i use Live to manage my contacts)... So far this ROM looks good. Looks to be running quite fast.

All that to say, thanks DCD ... You have helped to make my phone a worthy purchase. Since using your ROM's, the only time I need to reboot my device is if my memory is getting low (memory leaks), and even that is not often. I even went ahead and donated a little sum to you for your work ( I have never done that before either).

Thanks again.

Good to see another ROM from you dcd.

Take your break, you've earned it. Maybe by time you get back VZW will have released their update for the XV6800 for you to work with. :)

Download just finished, gonna be flashing in a few. I'll post about my results in a bit.

I tried using the "Beam.." in The File Explorer, or Send via Bluetooth with Total Commander with the same result.

I paired the Devices before trying to send. I tried unpairing and trying to send with the same result.

Is mine a fluke? :)

Seems like a solid build, but that random dialer popup issue seems to be there again. Installing another dialer on top fixes it. However, the first dialer I tried had really messed up graphics so I uninstalled it. After that I could not get any data to work so I reinstalled the carrier cab which fixed the problem. However, after that my gmail account disappeared from the messaging configuration yet was somehow still showing unread emails on the today screen. I could not figure out how to fix it. When I tried re-adding the account it said another account with that name already existed so I had to add it with a different name. Anyone know how to get into more advanced config with messaging to remove a phantom account like this?

Noticed that this new dialer is not compatible with Tdial designer (both Old Vogue and Blue frog settings). Does anyone know how to make it work? Kind of a bummer. CARLO$, you out there?

Otherwise this seems really stable so far. Had the phone pop up a few times when I was installing the first three cabs, but hasn't happened since. I did install a dialer around that time though (per post a few ago) which may have solved the problem, but doesn't quite complete a theme.

Question for GC, does the Verizon GPS hack persist after flashing or should I do it again?

The first two allow for handsfree voice recognition for contacts and programs (I prefer Cyberion), Transcriber is a setting for input, Jeodek is a java program that runs .jar files such as opera and gmail.

something you guys are doing is changing it. its been back in since 3.1.3 and these builds are widely tested before release. i can absolutely guarantee you that if you download this rom or kitchen from either mirror and install it clean the battery driver reports in 1% increments.

either something is being changed in the kitchen prior to building or something is in a cab you're installing.

so what's the difference between VoiceCommand and Cyberon VoiceDial 1.2b070905_0 ? which one is the program that came with the original rom
cyberon came with the original ROM. voicecommand is microsoft's voice input software. both are included so you can choose, dont install both at once.

is anyone having problems with the enlarge start menu cab? I placed it in my UC, and when i try to open programs or settings from the start menu, it wont open, just beeps. If i remember right it didnt work correctly in 3.1.2, does anyone have a cab that DOES work with 3.1.6? Cause apparently mine causes problems, as soon as I took it out of UC, everything is perfect, but I rlly want the enlarged start menu....

transcriber is an SIP where you use the stylus to write onscreen, the computer analyzes it and almost instantly turns it into typed text. kinda fun to play around with, but not very practical. you can turn it on by pressing the up arrow next to the keyboard and selecting transcriber.

either something is being changed in the kitchen prior to building or something is in a cab you're installing.

either way, its a non-issue. if it was something major, id go in and troubleshoot cab by cab, but seeing as this is fixed by adding one cab to my sdconfig not a big deal.

Other than that, which is not your fault, another great release, and thanks as always.

I'll post the cab for the battery dll. It says no2chem on it, so im assuming all the credit for that goes to him.

Question for GC, does the Verizon GPS hack persist after flashing or should I do it again?

It persists through flashing of both rom or radio. Don't need to do it again.

Also to all those saying the battery dll is not there..

Trust me, it's there. It's something on YOUR end that is messing up. I've been testing this rom now for about a week with absolutely no issues. I've also tested 3.1.3, 3.1.4, and 3.1.5 and it was present in all of them.

To those asking about the carrier cab...

BOTH the pre-cooked roms and the kitchen require it. If you haven't installed it yet, do it.

Verizon customers can also install the VZW MMS cab for working MMS.

Hi guys,

First of all, thanks to DCD for spending "his" spare time creating this magnificent release and also thanks to testers as well.

my battery decreases by 1% so i don't know what issue the others users may have going in their moguls that the battery gauge is not working properly.

I built my rom directly from the kitchen and things i've noticed so far is the way this build handles memory more efficiently where as previous builds using the same programs or less my mogul's memory would decrease very fast. so far my mogul its still at 18 megs free with the same programs installed as previous builds in a 12-14 hours frame without having to soft-reset of course because of this everything seems to be faster.

(i like the new sounds)

im using the stock DCD's the only way to get it to work is if I go back to a stock rom and use that. ESPT wont even work it seems like it trys to but just stuts down not even a second later.

How I do my flashing just incase i am doing something wrong.

I just got this phone yesterday again im on #13

I flashed to the newest leaked rom
then ran then 2.40 unlocker
then ran dcd 3.1.6

when I go into the phone dialer and press ##778# nothing happens I even try ##and my MSL code and nothing happens so I try to go into the /Windows and select ESPT the top 495K sized one and my screen flashes like something is starting and then I just see the windows folder same thing with the 28B ESPT

Nothing has been installed this is a clean new rom. but if I go back to the leaked rom new install everything works.?

I have the Sprint Mogul idk this has been like this since DCD 2.3.2 for me at least.

Radio 3.39 and DCD ROM 3.16 both installed and running well. Now to begin my testing of all the various features.

Update #1:
*228 worked like a charm,
incoming/outgoing calls are fine,
data connection works great.

Update #2:
arcsoft mms is FINALLY working for me again, and its fast!
everything seems faster, including GPS lock for me, getting it everytime now under 20 seconds

Excellent ROM, as always!

im using the stock DCD's the only way to get it to work is if I go back to a stock rom and use that. ESPT wont even work it seems like it trys to but just stuts down not even a second later.

Did you install your carrier cab? If so, reinstall it. If not, INSTALL IT

Try the ESPT.ink in the windows folder. Not sure why but mine wont execute unless I use the shortcut. I haven't been able to get the key codes to work since I first started flashing. I didn't spend alot of time trying thought I just use the work around I found.

Maybe you need to come to work for our IT department. I'd hate to tell you how many times their user migration policies shut our systems down. It's become a weekly occurance around here. One question-- I did not do the gps hack prior to this ROM. Is it incorporated into the ROM, the carrier cab, both, or neither (verizon)?

Hey DCD... I've actually been running the official Alltel upgrade ROM since it came out (went to it from dcd 3.0.4). I'm ready to move back to your ROM since 3.1.6 came out... BUT I have a question first. The one problem I had with your ROMs was that I had issues with my Seidio car kit (wired, not bluetooth... the handsfree option didn't work well, the sunvisor mic was kind of garbled and people had trouble understanding me to the point where it was pretty much unusable). I assume this has to do with the audiopara.csv hack you have in there.

What's the easiest way to get your 3.1.6 flashed, but with the stock Alltel audio settings? I know you have the volume kicked way up for your personal use, but I prefer the stock setting in this case.

Thanks in advance for all your hard work on this!

going from memory here, but i think that the mic values may have been changed in 3.0.4, and they are not in 3.1.6. if it is still unusable, i can cab the audiopara.csv from the stock alltel rom for you when i get home.

I was having the recurring dialer pop-up with 3.1.2 and with this ROM as well. Installing a new dialer cleared it up, however I discovered that by selecting the "Titan" Phone canvas in the kitchen keeps this from happening. Of course, I then have to install the "Mogul_big_button_dialer", so this isn't much of a solution as far as time-saving goes. Just thought I'd share.
Thanks for the hard work DCD!

I've used 3.1.6 all day today without any problems. The only problem that I have had and this is back with 3.0.4 is that my time keeps resetting back to Mountain time. I try to change it to AZ but if I soft reset the device it defaults back to mountain. If I change it to AZ time, the time goes back one hour than what it should then eventually goes back to MT time. Other than that, no major issues, Rom is very stable.

Either 1 of 2 things is happening....

1. The area in AZ you live in does not recognize DST. You can try turning off DST and see if it helps.

2. You live near a state line and the tower you're connecting to is in a Mountain time zone state. When you sync time with carrier, it syncs your phone.

I get the same error message when I tried the 3.1.6 BuildNB.bat file. This is my first attempt at updating my phone, so I tried running the BuildNB.bat file for 3.1.2 and got the same error. I assumed it was something about my computer, although I tried it on two different systems.

I'm having the same problem as the OP (phone codes dont work on a clean 3.1.6 install - it tries to load and crashes 1 sec later).

Running the .lnk file (as you suggested) doesnt help.

Installing the phone codes cab adds a link to the programs menu which does the exact same think as EPST.lnk - namely nothing.

Any suggestions?

Arizona doesn't follow the DST, so they are their own timezone. Right now they match the Pacific timezone, and match Mountain when DST goes into effect... which makes it even more stranger, since it looks like it not only switches to the wrong time zone, but also the wrong time for that time zone, since MST shouldn't be the same as AZ time right now.

I'm on Verizon. When do I install the carrier cab? Do I put it into a folder in the kitchen folders? Do I run it after flashing the ROM?

To install the radio do I flash the Sprint ROM, not allow the customization, then run the cooked ROM?

Most of the step by steps out there are for several versions back and things appear to be different since older ROM's had the Radio in it.,

Thanks.

Carrier Cab is run AFTER you flash 3.1.6 Rom.
Radio Rom is floating around separate - seach over @ PPC Geeks - that's where i got it. If you run the Sprint Rom, make sure you do not allow customizations...

then flash the DCD Rom - then the carrier cab - it is at the first post of the new rom in this forum

Wrong! From About.com:

"Arizona Time Zone is MST
Phoenix Does Not Observe Daylight Saving Time
By Judy Hedding, About.com

The Arizona time zone is the Mountain Standard Time (MST) zone. Other states included in this time zone are Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana.

The Mountain Standard Time zone is 7 hours behind UTC (Universal Time, Coordinated).

Arizona does not observe Daylight Saving Time (March through November). We do not "spring Forward" in Phoenix -- we always stay on Mountain Standard Time. During Daylight Saving Time (DST) most of Arizona is at the same time as California (Pacific Daylight Time or PDT).

On the first Sunday in November, when DST ends, most everyone else in the country "falls back" or sets their clock back one hour. We do not. From that first Sunday in November through the second Sunday in March we are one hour ahead of those states on Pacific Standard Time, like California and Nevada; one hour behind states in the Central Time zone, such as Texas and Illinois; and only two hours behind those states on Eastern Time, such as New York and Florida.

The only exception in Arizona is the Navajo Nation, in northeastern Arizona, which does observe Daylight Saving Time."

jimnutt
19th June 2008, 10:55 PM
Arizona has quite enough daylight as it is, they don't need to "save" any of it. When I lived there (wish I still did),I figured it was because in the summer, people in AZ went to CA to the beach, so we'd be on CA time to make it easier. In the winter, people from the midwest and mountain states would come to AZ for the warmth, so we'd be on Mountain Time to make it easier for them.. :>

I think the common misconception is when DST goes into effect. It's in the summer, not the winter...

Thank you...this is what I needed to know.

Fix for you people in AZ having problems with your clock. You need to go into Settings->Phone, click on Services tab and select Time Synchronization. Click Get Settings and uncheck the box that says "Time synchronize with mobile network automatically."

Then go into clock settings and change timezone to GMT-8 Pacific US. When November comes around, and DST ends, change timezone back to GMT-7 Mountain US.

Just finished flashing and have a couple of issues.

- No battery indicator (I'll try the separate cab)
- When trying to get a data connection it will sometimes and won't other.
- Don't know if this was intentional but it does not show when it is dialing for a data connection.
- Spontaneously reset while trying to connect to the data network once so far.
- installed the cab on this thread for VZ MMS. When I try to send a pic by clicking on it and choosing send MMS it goes to the SMS/MMS screen but doesn't pop the screen up to enter anything and send it.
- I can create an MMS from in the MMS program and selecting a picture.
- Is is supposed to disconnect from the data network as soon as it sends or receives? If so cool.

Update:
Installed the battery cab and still no battery indicator anywhere nor the option to enable it. I'm not using HTC home because I had too many issues using it before.

Love the new build, but am having some problems with my bluetooth headset and the new voice command. On the previous version of voice command and DCD 3.12, I was able to use voice command over the bluetooth headset. Now, when I try and activate voice command through the bluetooth headset, nothing happens. I can still hear and speak through the headset once a call has been initiated, but can't get voice command to come through the headset. When I do active voice command from the phone, I have to speak to the phone directly to use voice command.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

NOTE: Never mind. Found this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=391262
And followed the instructions:
Getting the BT headset to trigger MSVC on the device
So, what you want to do is:

1. Goto HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway
2. Ensure BTAGExtModule is set to “\Windows\vcbthag.dll” or “\Program Files\Voice Command\vcbthag.dll” (or another location depending on where your MSVC files are located).
3. SOFT RESET the phone
4. Wait about 60 seconds after restart to ensure all services are started

Mine was set to OEMAGW.DLL. Changing it to vcbthag.dll and performing a soft reset had voice command working for me.

By the way, I live in Yuma! I live in the Central Time Zone (same as DCD's ROM is by default). Mine doesn't follow DST either. Mine is always an hour behind, and when I go into settings > phone > services > time synchronization and click update now, the minutes are accurate, but it still stays an hour behind.

Even if I manually adjust the clock ahead one hour it occasionally goes back after a soft reset.

One other thing that always changes when I soft reset is, the location setting always turns off. It's not a big deal, I just don't like seeing the hash mark through the gps compass on the dialer screen.

I've noticed this same behavior in the last several DCD ROM's It's not just 3.1.6 . Still the best ROM out there though.

its not aesthetically pleasing as maybe the PPCGeeks' kitchen, but it sure gets the job done. its in a zip folder, so extract it. once thats done, go into the folder. you can drop your own OEM's in the OEM folder, or just startup BuildNB. this will open BuildOS, or the kitchen part, and you can select what goes into your ROM. press the > play button arrow at the top of BuildOS, and this will compile the OEM's. when it says done in the bottom left, close BuildOS and BuildNB will continue and build your ROM. once completed, it will start you RUU and you can flash from there. if you want to change the pagepool, you can just close the RUU and use your pagepool changer from there.

it was only a day of testing, the only thing I did was flash the 3.39 radio and the gps fix and today my low battery notifiation popped up at 5pm after taking it off the vharger at 8am.

No, and i think you mean BuildNB. after extracting and going into the main directory it should say BuildNB, MS-DOS batch file, 1 kb. select that. it should be directly below the tools folder

Yep, I meant BuildNB.

This was a first-for whatever reason, Winrar did not extract a couple of files. The download was fine, but the extraction failed. Thanks for the help.

I tried to flash dcd 3.1.6 but every time it stucks on 2nd splash screen.

Here what I am doing. I have brand new phone & Stock rom

1) Hard-SPL-MFG.exe
2) Flash dcd 3.1.6 for Verizon

After this step I got stuck on 2nd splash screen. I tried above step 3 times.

Am I doing some thing wrong? Any help will be appriciated.

just wondering if previous carrier cabs have changed from this build. carrier links arent working right now.

NM. servers were down and I'm just impatient. Thanks for the work DCD and to quote from a previoius thread 'my GF hates you' too!!

From what DCD suggested in a former post, this key value is supposed to be set correctly in the new kitchen. Are others also finding this issue?
actually i discovered yesterday that at the last minute i forgot to include my provxml's. i was going to reupload the kitchen today including them.

I might have something screwed up or it might be the network where you are. Timezone is supposed to be configured automatically by NITZ - since I use CST as default and I live in CST, I guess I have never really verified that it works. Later I will change the default to somewhere else and make sure it detects CST correctly where I am.

just wondering if previous carrier cabs have changed from this build.
I have made a couple tiny changes to the sprint cab, but I will let everyone know anytime any significant change is made in them. Maybe I will start timestamping them.

I had that message before. Try getting rid of the other kitchen folders from older versions or move them to a completely different directory. I just saved the .rar files.
I fixed my problem with this error by moving the kitchen folder to a different location and running it again. I put it on my desktop for expediency's sake. Thanks for everyone's advice.

Sounds like you didn't read the UPGRADE instructions properly..... After putting the Ollipro 2.4 SPL on the phone, you NEEDED to upgrade the radio on your phone. Then you load the ROM from DCD 3.1.6..... Please re-read the upgrade instructions and follow them closely.....

Or just click on GMT -7 Arizona .....

does it work right if you manually install everything your UC would do?
being unable to create an sms message is a symptom of a bigger problem (maybe programming?) - you should have working text messaging even without the carrier cab.

ok maybe you are onto something - i didnt think about the possibility that this is a result of the carrier cab failing.

on the same device, same ROM flash etc etc, if you do not install the carrier cab at all, are you able to use text messaging?

No, i'm not. I do get those "Voice Mail Subsystem" text messages if I let it sit with no cab for a few hours. I'm about to flash again and try out manually installing just the carrier cab. I did a manual with carrier, Google maps and SPB shell and it failed.

Does DCD's ROM (not the kitchen, but the ROM linked to in the first post) contain the necessary items for internet dialing?

I'm having trouble getting it working. The programs all work to set the VoIP configuration, but the Today item "Internet Calling" doesnt show up on the Today screen no matter what I do, though it shows up in the settings of the Today screen. Also, the phone settings doesnt have the "Internet" tab referred to all over the place. I wanted to know if I screwed something up (very probable) or perhaps the base files were removed for the sake of space/cleanliness/whatever.

If its not included, is there a simple cab i can install that adds that functionality?

Thanks

DCD what does your Garmin Mobile cab do? Does just do what the computer based installer does? If so would you mind sharing it, please? I use Garmin and and it would save me some time.

Also what does your second to last cab dcd task manager do? You've already got the HTC 2.1 task manager?

I must say you do a good job of keeping your device clean!

User Configeration is great, but it can be very frustrating, as can be seen by many of the posts on sleuth's thread (rom flashing junkies (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=366337)). A few weeks ago, I learned about an almost completely mortscript based installer, Sashimi (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392983). It does everything UC does, but is more powerful, and easier to use. For instance, to copy files, you just drag the files you want to copy into the "root" directory. Set up the folders in the root directory just like how you would like it to install onto the device. No more CPY1: and CPY2 for me!!!

From what DCD suggested in a former post, this key value is supposed to be set correctly in the new kitchen. Are others also finding this issue?

Same here, I had to change the key setting.

Also I my data connection stopped working about 30 minutes after I flashed. I had to add my number @vzw3g.com and vzw as the password in the Data Connection settings. I had ran the carrier cab after flashing.

Zenoran,

More info please.... What have you cooked into the ROM and what cabs have your installed? The base ROM has no memory leak, well, VERY, VERY minimal, Like less than 500k over 2 days time for me with nothing installed except the Verizon cab. I was using the phone on a medium use basis...

Now, I will note that any Arcsoft 5 version has a mem leak, and it can be a real issue at times.I tested 3 different Arcsoft 5 versions and 4.2.8.1 and 3026c. It seems the transport.exe file stay resident, but seems to allocate more memory each time you receive an MMS. If you close the transport.exe using a task manager, it will give back some mem, but not all of it.....

EDIT: Man that GC guy beats me to it everytime.... hehe

oh, sorry. by 'fixed' i meant i included the proper files for that package this time as they were sort of mixed up before.

i did look for d3d in no2chem's release a little more today and without his xip or rgu, i cant really tell all of what hes doing. i can tell that he has done a little modification to a few driver files. i cant do that, and im not going to attempt to rip off his stuff unless he makes a release for chefs, like he did with the battery driver, SQM dummy file, etc.

Ya, that's the thing I find weird cuz I never had problem with n2c's rom or with stock vzw... *shrug*

I do do a lot of texting and pix mail and stuff.. not sure if maybe others don't or not.

The only things that are resident in memory are spb mobile shell and ftouchFlo... I'll try flashing the RUU instead of making my own.. and not installing any apps that sit in memory. For argument sake, I guess... I ran it since today without reboot and it got down to 9mb where it was crawling.

I want to throw in my thanks to DCD. This is a pretty responsive ROM and seems to work fine for all of my needs. The only little issue I have seen is tha MS Voice Command doesn't announce SMS messages. If anyone can point me to a fix on that one, I sure would appreciate it.

On the flip side, having functional GPS without having to carry around another device and charger is sweet! Thanks again.

Just to let everyone know...

I'm running DCD's 3.16 ROM with the 3.39 Radio.

I have SPB Backup and SPB Weather loaded at startup. I also use HTC Task Manager. I've also done various cache tweaks for faster performance.

I left the phone alone after a soft reset for 8 hours... and after those 8 hours: 19.2MB of RAM Free.

This ROM freakin ROCKS.

Btw- I HIGHLY recommend everyone use Opera Mobile 9.5 (ripped from the Diamond ROM)... it is 100x better than Pocket IE ... and if you dont wanna use Opera Mobile, give Opera Mini a try too.

Other programs I can recommend:

1) Palringo
2) Adobe Reader LE 2.5 (from Diamond ROM, this is newer than the 2.0 version DCD included in his most recent build)
3) Resco File Explorer 2008
4) MemMaid
5) SKTools
6) Google Maps
7) nueLED

did you use the kitchen or the rom? if you use the kitchen, which is pretty simple. you select the options you want...those games are under entertainment, and adobe and zip are labeled as such, then you just build the rom and flash that.

as far as your second question, i dont know for sure, but it sounds like that might be the key to check for tethering. DO NOT QUOTE ME ON THAT. its just a guess, im sure someone who knows for sure will respond soon.

gbenj is right. these keys make your device change to a different profile for tethering that your provider can detect. by removing them, tethering appears the same as normal data usage.

Anybody having alarm issues? This morning I didn't have my alarm active and it went off but the odd thing is that the 3 alarms that went off don't coincide with the times I have set up. The times that the alarm went off were the times I set for friday morning.

This is about the only issue I've come across and I'm using the windows built in alarm not a 3rd party software.

I have no alarm app installed thats for sure but here is a quick list of what I have:

S2P
S2U2
S2V
Bejewled
Dopewars
Music ID
emunutz Home Customizer
Majestic Chess
Google Maps
Tetris
HTC Album
HTC Audio Manager
ER Suite 6.0
Live Search
Pocket Gravity 2
n2c battery driver
CalcLIte
Oxios Memory
Diamond QWERTY
PHM reg editor
Resco Explorer
Schaps advanced config
SK Tools
Someguy sMMS
Pocket Informant

Also I've never come across this issue with anyother version of DCD's ROMs. Whats weird is that the alarm went off at different times than were last used. I haven't used my alarm since Saturday morning and they were set for 5 am not 820am. Other than that the alarm works as it should when I activate it. Its just weird for it to go off when I didn't activate it and especially to go off to times that were used and later changed.

first i'd like to say, great work with the kitchen dcd. Always happy to see new work.

one thing i did notice, i don't know if it's at my fault, but i put together a rom with the kitchen and included windows live with it. Everything works perfectly, but i noticed there are no windows live or messenger icons in the programs folder. I mean, its an easy fix for me, just put in the shortcuts myself, but just thought i'd let you know for any future builds.

I've had the same issue with the last rom version of DCD 3.1.2 and the current one. It did not do this with Version 3.0.4. I've run the rom clean with no 3rd party software and same problem. If I select my alarm once, it will keep in memory and it will go off the next day even if they are checked off!! I feel for you because sometime I would like to sleep late and my alarm will go off at what ever time in the morning i had it set the days prior. I just learned to turn the volume off completely or place it in vib mode.

Anyone know why this would happen?

I have had similar issues in the past. I get repeats when I run my Autoconfig (Sashimi now (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=392983)) more than once, because I have my alarms configured. The issue is that there are multiple copies in the notifications. I'm no expert, but go to calendar program, and uncheck all alarms (so they don't go off). Downloade dotFred's taskmanager (http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm), install it to pda, and run it. Click that little triangle in upper right corner, and change to notifications. Delete all instances of "windows\clock.exe" (Highlight and then click blue & red icon on bottom). Then you should be able to reenable the alarms.

Good luck.

I love the ROM and every single program I have is running perfectly. The one thing I have noticed (other than the Arizona time zone not sticking) is this:

Under Start -> Settings -> System -> Screen, any attempt to re-allign my screen causes my phone to freeze.

The only reason I noticed this is that I must have slightly mis-alligned my screen on the first boot. It's close, but I can't get to the abnormally skinny scroll bar in Reco Explorer.

Is anyone else having this problem, or is it something I've done?

I don't know if anyone out there uses iGolf GPS PPC on the xv6800 but I have been having problems with distances being short by 30 yards. I first used this package when I had DCD ROM 2.3.2 installed and everything was within a yard when I compared it to the SkyCaddie unit I also have. Ever since I upgraded to ROMs 3.0.4, 3.1.2, and now 3.1.6, this yardage problem has shown up.

The GPS when using iNav works great but iGolf is unusable.

Anyone out there having similar problems? Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

'Ah' you sure?
j/k, but those "r"s are kinda funny.

You still don't have it right. You missed 'sure'.

Boston Dialect Lesson #2: the 'ure' sound.

When used in one syllable words such as sure:

pronounced 'shore' EXCEPT with no r sound...so kinda like shooah just without a dominant oo sound.

When used in two syllable words such as posture:

pronounced 'pawstcha'. ;)

I took a new xv6800 from stock to radio 3.39 + 3.1.6 cooked up the kitchen. Had verizon help me with the authentication issue (they didn't give me an a-key this time).

But I can't get any data. I tried to check EPST but it wouldn't run via ##778. I googled around and found this can happen when you don't run the carrier cab. I basically copied the cab via activesync to the root of the device and ran it. I thought it ran but just to be sure, I tried running it again from an sd card and now it gives me an error that "Installation of dcd Titan Carrier - Verizon.cab was unsuccessful".

I can make calls, I just have no data.

i did let customizations run after the rom was installed. i read a post that said things work fine, even if you do let them run.

any ideas? thanks in advance.

MMS is not included in the verizon carrier cab. You need to install Arcsoft MMS. Look/search for the thread about MMS for Verizon. It shouldn't be too many pages back.

Here is the most recent copy of Arcsoft I can find. Let me know if there is a newer one.

I do believe that he will need to enter his X-VzW-MDN key manually...

thanks drew and serf.
i had the titan's gsm equivalent (herald or wing) and had it all perfect. then i moved- no tmobile service here so i have to get verizon service and got the closest thing to the wing they got.

i'm having to learn a new approach, these cdma steps are much more of a hassle than gsm believe me. lol

thanks again.

edit:

I said that cuz I couldn't see clearly threw shit stained eyes.... (head was up the rump).... Was used to a cab asking you to reset if it needed it, this one uses Mortscript to get the key... duh.....

However - If you IM me, maybe you could help figure out the threaded MMS issue with 3.2.0.... please :)

I actually wrote a setup.dll in Embedded C++ that gets rid of the need for Mortscript. It works, just haven't posted the cab here yet.

could you post it? the only MMS ive ever got to work is the stock MMS and the one from PPCGeek's Kitchen. other than that, every arcsoft i install just hangs at 0% when its trying to send. and since someone is bound to say something, ive confirmed the settings multiple times(:

I just upgraded from the 2.1.0 to the 3.1.6 rom and 3.39 radio earlier this week, and everything works fine. Battery life seems to have improved, the overall performance of the phone has gotten snappier, and I don't have the annoying freezes and crashes that I used to have with the wm6.1 beta build from that previous rom.

The one minor issue that I'm having is the device information doesn't seem to work right anymore lol:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v310/daddymac117/device1.jpg

It's not causing any issues with anything, it's just kind of odd to not be able to see any device info anymore. The bootloader says I'm using R 3.39.10 and D 3.1.6, so everything is flashed correctly, it's just that device info screen that's getting to me lol. Is anybody else having the same issue?

***EDIT: I figured out the problem. It was the version of HTC Home 2.1 that I was using that caused that issue (N2A's weather patched xplode cab). I decided to flash up to 3.2.0 and 3.42.30 anyway, so I noticed it screwed up as soon as that was installed. I changed to a different version of N2A's patched HTC Home 2.1, and all is good in the world :)

The links on the first thread don't work.
I'd like the Kitchen. I am a Verizon user and need the carrier for it as well as the new radio version.

Where can I download them from since the links on the first page don't work?

Thanks

You are looking at an earlier version of this ROM. This thread is for version 3.1.6, but the current release is at 3.2.5. Go to the link below for the current version:

You still don't have it right. You missed 'sure'.

Boston Dialect Lesson #2: the 'ure' sound.

When used in one syllable words such as sure:

pronounced 'shore' EXCEPT with no r sound...so kinda like shooah just without a dominant oo sound.

When used in two syllable words such as posture:

pronounced 'pawstcha'. ;)
LMAO! Surprised you didn't use "Chowda" as your example.:D I, myself, have a Bwooklyn/Joisy thing goin'! So, yous can fawgetta' bout da "TH" sound... it's maw like a D when used as "The" and a straight-up T "wit everyTin' else" like "Trowing a ball" Lol... :D You should hear me when I'm drunk!!! (BTW, sorry about that screwed up PM, lllboredlll I was coping with a lot of PAIN! ;) )

BTW DCD, I think there's something wrong with the DL links for both the Kitchen, and ROM; I read back-posts, but didn't find a mention of that anywhere. Can you fix the links. or are they purposefully down?
