PS. I placed an order, should get it via citylink tommorow. Its a little more expensive than some other sites, but cheaper than others. But its a great company to deal with.

Power up mobile also seem to be showing stock:

Their 'expected' date is gone. I'd call them first to confirm tho.
It really looks like 18th/19th IS the real release date :)

Just called TotalPDA and they have no change on the 23rd - I wonder if that will change in the next 24hrs? Would have liked to use Clove (used them before) but they would not price match the order I have from TotalPDA of £406.77 :(

I suspect everyone will have stock by tommorow. The difference of 1 day is just going to be logistics and admin.
I think its unlikely anyone will price match, especially with it being such a hot item.

Nice! I've been checking this forum everyday waiting for this thread title. Now I just need orange to add it to their inventory. I'm so looking forward to developing on this device.
How are these other companies managing to sell it earlier than orange or tmobile. I would of thought Orange and Tmobile would be getting priority shippment. Also why is everyone here paying premium price for the device when it will be avialble free with a contract?

WM phones always come out sim free first. The networks always get them later.
There's a few reasons for this but the main two are 1) HTC etc want to sell it at a premium sim free for those whi will pay the price and 2) networks have their own customisations and tweaks, physical or software which take time.
Its unlikely you'll see the diamond free on many networks unless you are on a high price monthly contract. For most it will just be heavily subsidised.
Also alot of people are not able to sign a new contract as their old one hasnt expired yet.
You probabaly won't see it on Orange or T-Mobile untill the first week of july at the very earliest i would think.
The real question _was_ why were people paying a premium for imports when the UK one will be out soon - its because we're all stupid and want it now now now :)

I myself don't want to sign up to a lengthy contract, and hate how these companies brand the phones.

Btw you can still buy it on contract from people like mobilefun (probably from tommorow). But you'd need to sign up again, which would mean you have to port your number to another network to keep it. Orange is the worst network (except maybe Three) anyway!

Not quite everywhere - I think it's just places that were due to get a batch on the original release date. Some places are still giving later dates.

Is it in stock today? It sounds like most people are getting it tommorow, which means you'll get yours on friday.
Not a big difference, just clarification for anyone reading and wanting to order today.

They said on the phone yesterday they will have a lot in stock tomorrow (today), also today it changed to showing "buy now" not pre order. As far as I'm aware, my delivery will arrive tomorrow from powerupmob, waiting for the email.

They usually do it. All they are doing is taking the comission from the network and applying it to the sim free price.
Once its actually in stock (and they have a 100% confirmed price) you can expect to see it on their website. If you look on the main HTC diamond page u'll see a link saying 'with contract' or something like that. It'll be there - currently it takes you to a page that lets you pick networks, but has no contratcs listed!

Ah great. I thought you meant the contract will already be listed but itll say out of stock, didnt realise they wont show them for a few days.
Ive used that kind of system several times before where the company puts the money from the contract towards any phone. Im hoping to cancel my Tmobile contract soon, transfer the number to virgin, then place a new order for a tmob contract with the touch diamond.

Well decided to go with Mobilefun for my order of the Diamond so probably wont get it till friday at the latest. Next to play.com they were the cheapest.
Fingers crossed that ill have it by Fri, going to give them a ring tomorrow to make sure they have stock..if not then ill cancel and order somewhere else.

Thats what my friends do all the time. Port it to paygo, then back to the same network.
Have a look at what the price works out to tho, sometimes it makes more sense to upgrade your existing contract (get some retention deal from TMO), and take the phone with the best profit margin if sold on ebay. Then ebay it and use that money to buy what you want.

Thats exactly what I do...
Upgrade to whatever is the most expensive / popular phone at the time, and sell it straight away as new on eBay. I normally upgrade my phone every 6 - 12 months (buying a SIM free / no contract), so I couldnt be bothered waiting for a free upgrade every 18 months.
Just sold my 16gb iPhone on eBay the other day for £340 - which almost paid for the UK Touch Diamond I have coming tomorrow :D
I also have an import Touch Diamond coming tomorrow too I think - but it'll be sent straight back without opening!

Websites not showing stock may be because they have already sold the entire first delivery on preorder. Even if the site shows stock you really don't know if they have it or are expecting it today.
As Spawn12 says, those sites are confirmed shipping today. Others i would definatly call to be sure, otherwise you may not get it till monday :( and i know how i'd feel if that happened to me!

play.com are crazy!
I had mine on pre-order for weeks and phoned them today because my order status changed to "order taken" and they told me the stock was due in 3-4 days,so i cancelled and ordered with clove only to find out a few hours later that they are instock and shipping at play.
Why do people that are selling the products have no idea what they are selling?

I was thinking exactly the same and was about to spend around 450 UK Pounds on a sim-free Touch Diamond but then I discovered this deal:
http://www.beepy.co.uk/mobile-phone-deals/htc-touch-diamond-black-orange-racoon-25-18-month-cashback/
I'm currently on Orange UK PAYG - this deal works out better than sim-free for me as minutes/texts are included for about the same money but spread over 18 months. Have signed up, phone is on pre-order.

Woohoo! I have my Touch Diamond now! I got it from INKINO. They're pretty cool. Anyway, I'd like to point out that, at least on my device, TouchFLO 3D isn't laggy at all - it makes the old TouchFLO look unbearably slow! Maybe the UK models have a more efficient version of TouchFLO 3D...or maybe I'm just lucky. :)
Other things I can confirm/deny:
1. The battery doesn't get particularly hot during normal use.
2. The battery does get hot when being charged by a computer.
Anyway, that's all so far...

or maybe just a speed is concern of subjective feelings don`t you think ? :) i sometimes experience bit of lag but only sometimes and what look fast enough for me shouldn`t for somebody else

Yeah, but TouchFLO 3D is much faster than TouchFLO, and I don't remember the speed of TouchFLO being such a big issue...

I ordered one from ebay - and when it didnt arrive within 2 weeks I ordered one from devicewire on Wednesday.
Typical... they both turned up yesterday!!
I've opened the devicewire one - but the eBay one is still brand new and sealed. Now I either have to send it back with a re-stocking fee or sell it on eBay myself. The only problem with selling a £395 item on eBay is that they'll charge me heaps, and PayPal charge me heaps - so it'll cost me about £25!
On the plus side - I just got an email from devicewire saying that any customers purchasing a touch diamond before the 20th June can apply for a free dock worth £30. Handy, as I was going to order one anyway :)
If anyone is interested in a BRAND NEW UNOPENED diamond - let me know!!
