View Full Version : How much drain on battery when using GPS?

I tried using Mapking 2007 and routed a journey for about 6km only and the battery dropped by about 25%.
This is no good... unless there is a cigarette adaptor for GPS use..

I'm using tomtom and it uses quite some power but not the kind you mention. Maybe change the backlight a bit (i did) but you'll really need an external power source when you use your phone for navigation.

I can drive up to 3 hours with TomTom and GPS active on my Diamond.

Hi,

It is interesting the different times for GPS use.

I have always done a Tom Tom test (backlight on second setting) running it to full battery drain.

On my current MDA CIII it ran for just over four hours.

It would be interesting for someone to try the same test on the Diamond.

mine gets around 1 and a bit hours.
thats also with a few phone calls and some gaming!
but mostly just gps
