Updated from 1.34 and there are definite improvements. Cannot comment on battery life as yet but touchflo works smoother & faster.

Thanks to Baronic for 1.37 and cmonex & olipro for hard-spl.

Is this only for users in South East Asia, or will European users also upgrade to this new ROM? Meaning, does it have European languages available in the language settings?

Does it contain improvements over 1.37.405?

1.37.707 Compact Framework Version 2.0.7045

Update to 3.5.7283 make rom much more responsive in Intensive tasks and TouchFlo 3D

Hi,

May I know what does the "NET_CF_Config.cab" file do? Must I install both to benefit from NET CF 3.5, or just installing "NET_CF_3.5.7283.cab" would do? What's the difference?

Hello, First of all use windowd XP for flashing. I flashed my grey import that I bought from play.com and it works properly. i think the only problem is the windows. And finally DO NOT FORGET TO USE HARD-SPL. If you want to install this rom you should go for the developper edition otherwise stick with the signed one. For more info read diamond forum you will find all the details there.

Upgraded to 1.37.707.1 WWE and restored to stock 1.37 SPL at the end.

The performance is much better than ROM 1.34 (stock ROM from HKCSL). Worth upgrading! Thank you Baronic.

Lastly, few issues I have (probably not related to 1.37 ROM):
1. accelerometer inaccuracy: run Teeter, and put it on a flat table -> the ball keeps moving to the bottom and left. Waiting for calibration software.
2. Sometimes, it hangs after reboot, or during activesync. (The only reg change is Sent SMS notification; it hangs even before this reg change.)
3. Sometimes, copy files to the drive becomes slow or stopped under USB drive mode; it recovers automatically sometimes. (Vista problem?)

OK i only have the problem with the accelerometer, (which i really dont care about, coz for me it means that the ball is level and not moving when the phone is tilted slightly towards me, which is better than if it was flat! lol) the other problems, i dont have... vista, thats the culprit lol

SMS alert issue is not completly fixed.

The first SMS after reboot does not have alert sound.

To reproduce: reboot and leave it to go into sleep; send a sms to the phone, and observe the alert light is on but no sound.

The alert issue is gone after opening the first SMS.

I must say:

My Diamond is one hell of a Phone after flashing 1.37.

Fast, very stable, and tflo3d just rocks, I really like that interface for daily use.

One tip: aligning your screen and pressing VERY SOFTLY on the crosses does make the sensitivity for using tflo a lot better :)

Yes you have to flash the diamond twice. First using developer edition of hard-SPL, then after that, do the normal setup. After that, flash once again using 1.37 ROM. Significant improvement imo. Everyone should do it.

i discovered something you guys may wanna know,i lost my stylus and looking around for it,it appeared to be holding/sticking on the part of where it says "4gb internal storage" that means that border all around is magnetic field, since then i am letting diamond catch stylus there instead placing in its hole but i do this only when i am sitting at my desk :D
now question:anybody knows the tweak to keep screen alive during phone call? cheers

The exact error message -
There was a connection error while attempting to download weather data . Retry? Can browse other websites without any issues at all. This was working fine with the 1.34 ROM. Thinking of going back .....

the connection I have uses a proxy and if I turn it off I can't browse the internet. is there any other fix for the weather program?

I'm using T-Mobile in the USA

I agree, the latest OEM 1.37.707.1 is a huge improvement, especially regarding battery life.
BUT let me ask you one thing: have you ever used an iPhone for a couple of days?
Compared to the iPhone, Touchflo3D is as crappy as can be and HTC also made the mistake(or didn't have the time?) to integrate WM6.1 fully into Touchflo3D. This would be a lot of work and probably a performance mess but this is the only way Touchflo3D could impress me(well, it impresses me already regarding the look of the design/fonts/etc. but this isn't enough).

That said, I think that the HTC Touch Diamond needs the following improvements:
1. Touchflo3D needs to be embedded much more into WM6.1
2. the Touch Diamond touch display is crappy, I know that it isn't the same technical design like the iPhone(because of the stylus) but I'm pretty sure that there must be some sort of better solution to allow a perfect operation experience with both, finger and stylus
3. CPU/GPU performance may not be enough to run a smooth touch operation with WM6.1 and Touchflo3D, so maybe a new CPU/GPU combo would help, incl. some developing help from MS
4. the radio of the Touch Diamond needs to be improved A LOT, HSDPA connections, especially week ones, seem to drop easily to GRPS or EDGE, this is unacceptable
5. camera needs serious improvements, too slow, too crappy quality(unless the sun shines and you or the subject don't move at all).

The surprisingly good parts of the HTC Touch Diamond are:
1. great phone sound quality, when you talk to somebody it sounds as if you're talking from a landline, very impressive(similar to the new LG KF750 quality).
2. excellent build quality
3 excellent and very stylish design
4. great look(JUST the look!) of the new Touchflow3D GUI
5. VGA display is bright and shows a good quality, even during direct sunshine(not perfect but usable)
6. "magnetic" stylus is a treat, works well, very innovative

Personal conclusion: although the Touch Diamond is an impressive device and probably the "best" and highest quality device HTC has ever made, it isn't perfect and even lacks some serious things. I don't think that HTC will be able to improve the Touch Diamond and it's Touchflo3D touch operation so much that it could impress the way the iPhone does.
This may happen with the introduction of Windows Mobile 7 but they question is if HTC will offer an official support/update for the Touch Diamond.

The Touch Diamond is a good start for HTC but it needs a lot of improvent if it wants to make it's name proud. ;)

It is device dependent and not ROM dependent. If device does not support that, no ROM can do that. GSM 1900 is supported by device, GSM 850 not.

Just installed this rom last night - I must have been tired as it took me a while before I realised you needed the Developer version of the HardSPL installed to get this to work.. heh.

Haven't pushed it much yet, but definitely seems more responsive already.

Still got the sms keyboard bugs I've been experiencing though (you try and type "we're" with the full qwerty keyboard and it comes out as " 'were". I guess this is more a t9 bug than anything else.

I'm switching back from TLR ROM to using this ROM with my Diamond purchased in Hong Kong CSL.
The TLR ROM had lot of lags & is not suitable for my personal preference IMHO.

Just a question though, if this is a Signed ROM for SE Asia, then why isn't the country Hong Kong within the Region --> Country listing?
So I've to stick with using English (Australia) for the mean time.
But this ROM is very stable in terms of speed & hasn't caused me any problems with soft-resets. So give & take.

& I want to thank you & other members for the contributions, being a 1st time user of WM devices, I'm really going over my head with this HTC Diamond, spent 2 days doing only light reading while at the same time already performing daring stunts flashing the ROM without sufficient readings.

Thank you all once again!
I think I'm going to enjoy this community & discussion forum from now on.

I've been using this ROM after the others including Elite 1.0, Elite 2.0, TLR and stock ME version for quite a while now and my verdict is:

All ROMs has bugs but this one is quite satisfied me in the sense of stability and responsiveness.

So, for all the newbie who likes to try out the new ROMs, do try this one also.

:D

Kalau tak ada yang masak guna base ROM ni atau newer ROMs keluar dalam few weeks time, aku akan mulakan satu. Dah gian nak buat satu macam Hermes dulu.

My phone was purchased in Singapore so I didn't need to use Hard SPL to apply the ROM.

Has anyone else had this issue?

To those who sourced this upgrade thank you very much. I have a Diamond that I bought over ebay from Hong Kong.... it has rom version 1.35.456.3 ... I wanted to give the 1.37 version a try. I download the RUU and tried it out. All went as per the instructions an it started update the ROM. I then got an error saying "ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID". Does anyone know what this means or how I get past it ?

Off Topic with Diamond Tweak:
I still can't get the backlight to stay ON when a conversation is active, I really like the lightSensor part to work since that would save alot of battery.
I just hate it when I have to check voicemail, & the backlight keeps turning off when I'm need the keypad visible to erase messages & so forth.

Perhaps I might be able to get some help here?

Thanks in advance!

If you check, "New World Mobility" has been bought by CSL and that's in the connection lists. Seems it is just not updated yet to CSL's name!!
