View Full Version : What's the screen like for readability?

I've attached a screenshot of me attempting to read a PDF full page using Adobe Reader (still surprised that it won't go totally fullscreen), and as you can see, it's unreadable unless you zoom into the page and then you're stuck with having to scroll left and right as you're reading each line. Is the Diamond's increased resolution capable of showing a PDF full page and be readable? Post a screenshot if you can! Thanks!!

yeah I wouldn't mind knowing the answer to this. I tried and gave up reading a pdf file on my phone the other day. It's a long and tedious job. To get the text readable you need to zoom in a lot and then you need to scroll right and left to read each line. The scroll isn't smooth either so there would be a second or two loading time after each scroll movement.

well if you want have PDA readable documents you should use PDA to convert it to you into proper format ... i can`t remember whats the function name but the PDA should do it automatically or you can do it via desktop adobe acrobat enabling some re-flow mode or sthg like that.

I have taken two screenshots of page 11 from the HTC Touch Diamond manual. The second one is with Adobe Reader LE 2.5 in full screen (which actually is totally full screen).
The first one is readable if you have good eyes, but the second one (in full screen) is much better.

However, I do have another problem: How do you get back from the full screen to the normal screen?

Edit: After posting the images, I realize that they look much worse after uploading them to the forum than they do in their original form, due to the fact that the forum recompresses the images. Sorry about that.

Try xpdf (http://pocketxpdf.sourceforge.net/).
Worked perfectly for ebooks on my iPAQ hx4700 with VGA and fullscreen.
You can define a custom page width.
