tis my 1st post n i hpe dat u guys wud hlp.

my prblm iz dat da ear fne speaker of my imate jamin is not wrkin proply. i mean wen i make or recieve a call i cudnt hear the caller's voice but wen i turn da speker on tis fyn n wen i turn da speakr off ders no voice they cud hear me but i cnt :confused:.

i've tried 4/5 different ROMS but da problm is still der.
is it sme hrdwre problm??? but smtyms it wrks fyn :confused:

ok here it is now please suggest some solution....

my problem is that the earphone speaker of my imate jamin is not working properly. i mean when i make or recieve a call i could not hear the caller's voice but when i turn the speaker on its fine and when i turn the speaker off theirs no voice they could hear me but i cannot .

i've tried 4/5 different ROMS but the problem is still there.
is it some hardware problem??? but some times it works fine

it could be the head phone jack which is faulty, try plug in and out a few see if it work and able to listen the caller.

it the common problem in the head phone jack.

You need a keyboard replacement! This one seems to have problems!

Try a WM5 ROM and see if that helps.

Also try the headphone trick in the post above this.

Failing that, I would assume it's a hardware issue.

there aint no problem with the headphone jack because when i use the headphones it works fine even with the speaker (on the back) it works fine. the problem is with the front one (aka ear piece). some times it works and some times it doesn't.
and i've been using WM6 ROMs since last year and there was no trouble as such. it started like last week. now i've even tried old (WM6) ROMs but...
now i'll try WM5 and would tell you.

yeah i just traced out the problem and it is kinda hardware. when i press the back cover (upper one with the camera lena) during the call it starts working but otherwise dont.
and i think the reason is that the device fell down on the ground a few days ago.
now what would you suggest ... if i should open it myself and tighten the back cover or take it to some vendor???

and thanks ALOT to all of you guys (specialy l3v5y :-)Your choice... The back part is not hard to take of, but to get to the speaker etc you need a T6 screwdriver, and it will void any warranty you have...

glad that your problem is solved in some way. as the early post state not hard to open up the back cover. I've try too and wanna take the camera out too.

and one thing, touch in some grounded surface, like your computer metal case.

Every i-mate JAMin has this prob. sumtime i got it two times.......its a hardware prob. with headphone jack.when u plugin ur headphone it routes the sound to headphone but whn u remove it the sound doesnt get rerouted to speaker...simple solution take a pin and start pokin to the right of jack theres a contact there which u have to try to un-connect......n if u cant do it give it for repairs :)
