View Full Version : ROM release suggestion (md5 values)!

Cooks,

Thank you for all the wonderful ROMs you guys put out. I really appreciate your hard work. I do have one suggestion though. Would you guys be able to release your ROM with md5sum value? People like to help out by providing mirrors and md5sum would help a great deal to make sure nothing was tampered with. Not that I suspect anyone but for the peace of mind! :) I guess I am just being too paranoid.

i dont think this is a bad idea, i would be willing to comply with this.

taking security to next level is excellent idea for ROM's. you can never be too paranoid with this things

Not to mention it would save some hair if the file did get corrupted during download or from disk to disk/SD transfer. Bit errors could cause minor anomalies up to total failures.

That'd be awesome! I just downloaded your V4 Business but used one of the mirrors because of work restrictions. :)

simplier way is to use CRC check.
This way the checksum can be added to the filename since it is shorter.

filename can be named like DeathV4_BE-6A6DAE77.rar

no need to keep track of md5sums.

This is a wery good idea who should be upped to all chefs here, thumbs up! You never can get enuff information. Or should I say confirmation?
