I've been working on this theme for a while, perfecting it to my liking. It is basically perfect for my needs, and its time for a break.... so I decided to upload it as well.

So here is the preview.. it uses s2u2, mortbuttons, PocketCM and rltoday

s2u2 INSTRUCTIONS
I will be attaching the photoshop file (.psd) for anyone who would like to use the bottom portion of the s2u2 image above (the embossed look of the "slide 2 unlock") over any image of your liking.
For those who like the whole thing, I will also be attaching the .jpg (it is greyscaled) and the animated .gif (looks like the preview but moves) and the gfx folder for the sms icon and the slider and other buttons.

The .zip (htctoucher pidgin s2u2 sample images and psd) I attached includes many different jpegs and a few animated gifs that you can use. I also included a psd file for those of you who might like to generate your own with my embossed slide 2 unlock.. the sample.jpg in the .zip shows you the kind of look you can get using the psd file.

.....Place the gfx folder in your s2u2 folder on your device and overwrite your files in order to get the slide button and the unread icons and all that
.....Doing this will remove the top and bottom shadings and it will also replace your wallpaper.jpeg, wallpaper.gif, so if you dont want those removed then move only the graphics you want over to your device.

mortbuttons INSTRUCTIONS
This skin is the .zip called "htctoucher pidgin manila mortbuttons.zip"
It requires that you place the "pidginmanilla.mbz" file (the first mortbuttons screenshot) or the "htctoucher.mbz" file (the second mortbuttons screenshot) and the "bguppershade.png" image in your Mortbuttons-->skins folder.
....Then you must do the following:

Select "pidginmanilla" or "htctoucher" in Mortbuttons Setup-->Display-->Skin dropdown menu
-->Entry Size-->Big
-->Display Style-->User Background-->...-->Portrait ... --> go into your mortbuttons skin folder and select "bguppershade.png"
Select "bguppershade.png" for Landscape


Go back to the main display page

Check "Hide Menu Bar" but Uncheck "Hide Title Bar"
Check "Don't insert paging buttons" but uncheck "Don't insert back button to generated submenus"

Go into "Transitions"

For "To left" and "To right" select Cube transition from drop down.
For "Upwards" and "Downwards" select Slide Over transition.
Zoom in/out select Stretch and Duration 300ms

Go back to the Mortbuttons Setup main page

Go into "Handling" and then Configure Gestures and configure those to your liking

IF YOU WOULD LIKE MORTBUTTONS TO TAKE UP THE WHOLE SCREEN, just select "HIDE TITLE BAR" as well as "HIDE MENU BAR"... then go into Display Style--> "..." --> the "..." next to the color --> define your own color to "51,51,51" (by dragging along the shaded column on the right).. if you do this also make sure there is no image selected

...Download the .zip file
...Drag the file into your PocketCM folder on your device (DO NOT UNZIP!!)
...Go into options in PocketCM by pressing the filter button and going into options
...Press "Select theme" and choose mine in the drop down menu
...Restart PocketCM

rltoday INSTRUCTIONS

BOTTOM ROW and APP LAUNCHER
The home button on the bottom left of the screen brings you to the first screen. The star can be mapped to shortcut to whatever application you want.. I have it to mortbuttons (my favorite applications).

The person icon is pocketcm for me, you can link it to whatever you want, and the web is the next icon. The settings is the cog icon (I used the Control.exe I am including in the .zip)

To set this up properly, go into options of rltoday (hold down on the today until options pops up) then go into the "Apps" tab.
.........make sure your first FOUR applications correspond to:
..................................1.png (the star)
..................................2.png (the person)
..................................3.png (the world with the magnifying glass)
..................................5.png (the settings cog)

you do not need to do anything with 4.png

The next 10 applications you choose are what will show up on the app launcher page (the left screen shot in the picture above).


WEATHER
To update weather, press on the weather icon or any of the degrees shown. Also YOU MUST EDIT THE "rl_Vista_Weather.mscr" file in the Pidgin Desktop folder to change the lines:

# your location (see http://developer.yahoo.com/weather/ on finding your location)
location="91011"
# desired units for temp, f or c
units="f"

for your preferred zip code and degree units (Fahrenheit (f) or Celsius (c))


AND YOU MUST EDIT THE skin-tab2.xml located in the mscr folder to change the line:

Anyone wondering, Why Pidgin??..
...from dictionary.com:
"an auxiliary language that has come into existence through the attempts by the speakers of multiple different languages to communicate and that is primarily a simplified form of one of the languages, with a reduced vocabulary and grammatical structure and considerable variation in pronunciation."

This theme brings together multiple applications, an inspiration of Manila by HTC and my touch (not the phone... but that too) into one theme that should make it seem like all these apps are one in the same!

BTW.. I may be doing other applications (S2P by A_C, but I barely listen to music with my phone) but as of now this is it!

which program are you referring to? but my themes for these programs should not (and in my experience do not) have any effect on the performance of the programs... I have not noticed any performance decrease, which means noone else should either.

I forgot to add that to hide the bottom bar on your today screen, you need to install PMC Today Shrink.cab (its a tiny file, it just hides the bottom bar)

bg.png is the background for the clock
background.png is the same color as the background of bg.png, but just that color.. so it can be used as your today screen background behind the rltoday background.

I got this error.

The file 'MortScript' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's component cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.


PS: I following all instructions in post 1. Except the s2u2 which I do not require. Is it mandatory?

I've just installed Mortscript 4.11b7 and still gets the same error.

Ok. This is stupid of me. If i install mortscript in my storage card. It works. :P

I installed everything word for word and got everything workin perfect, now my ONLY problem is that when I click on the arrow to get the weather, and error shows up sayin "Mortscript error-the file moertscript cannot be opened, Either it is not trusted with a certificate or one of its components cannot be found."

Anybody know why im getting this error? I do have mortscript installed also but not to use it with this theme. Also where is the control.exe for the settings tab? b/c I dont know the file path for the settings.

Hi, this is a great skin for pcm keyboard. Much easier to use then the default skin. I have 1 question: you added the long press to show upper case letter but this overwrite the long pause to show key press. Most time, I would like a lower case letter instead but want to key press longer to confirm I've pressed the correct button before release. I ended up having a upper letter in most case. Can this be change to either key press long to show current case letter and if press much longer (another 250ms?) show the changed case letter? Or even better, show 2 cases at the same time?

BTW, thank you for htctoucher for a wonderful theme pack! I'm in transition replacing my old and trustworthy Wizard with Kaiser and wanting to do this kind of touching ;).

the only way to achieve this is to open up the layout you are using in notepad and change the lines:

symbol_pad_timer=300

I am pretty sure this is what controls how long you have to hold down for (capitalized letters and accented letters and all that) to popup.

It's in milliseconds, so I am guessing 500 would allow you sufficient time to hold down, see what letter you are about to enter, and then have the popup come up

control.exe should be inside the .zip that I included in first post

install mortscript to storage card as dadogmeat said.. do as he said and you should have no problems!

wish I could help you, but that is the only link I know that goes to your default phone app.
maybe ask or look over at rltoday forums?
or (I know it takes a long time) look through your windows folder for anything that looks like it would link to phone/phone history?

well this doesnt hide the start menu (taskbar)
if you look in the preview that is still up on the today screen.. this is made to only have the softkeys hidden

you should not have a scroll bar.. your device might have a slightly shorter screen, so you will have to edit the skin.xml file in order to change the top line that says "today height" to a smaller number that makes the scroll bar vanish

in the rltoday zip you will find a cab file called PMCtodayshrink or something like that

just install it, it does the work for you!

how to do move the rltoday up against the task bar? it looks funny with a little gap above the date. i tried to look into the skin.xml file and messed with the height, it just makes it bigger or smaller.

also when i tried to press the missed call, and error popped up saying
"shortcut target error: error opening the shortcut or locating the target filenam"

sounds like the problem is your resolution (this theme is for qvga (240x320)), it doesnt support larger resolutions

i think this was discussed somewhere in this thread, people had this problem and it was either that it was installed to their storage card or some oether problem, but if its installed to SD card, you have to change it in the scripts or settings i cant remember, you can maybe do a search in this thread to find the file someone posted to fix it (might have been me :D dont remember)

not sure why there is a gap, but if there is one, change the height of the today screen, and you might have to resize the wallpaper slightly as well or add a fill color in paint or photoshop in the gap to fill it

thats a problem some other people had as well, i dont know what the phone program is on all devices, so i just mapped it to the one in my windows folder for htc dvices. you should look in your windows folder on your device to find your program for phone, and then change it in the settings.xml
