Hi thanks for replay.yes im using the same HTCUtil frm elfin though the power setting works when i open it frm taskbar,but power icon is not appearing in system folder.
and what about long press end key??how to set new HTC Calculator default and overwrite the one present in microsoft build??
and another one,im getting Managed programe,Display switch application in system,start menu section respectively which i dont want how to delete them?
Hey,
Before I continue I have to say again that I don't use my Elfin anymore.

Look under this registry key for Start Menu\Settings Items
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel
From there you can hide or move any item.
Examples:

The following hides the Error Reporting item from your Settings\System.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Error Reporting]
"Hide"=dword:1
The following moves the Error Reporting item from your Settings\System to Settings\Personal.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Error Reporting]
"Group"=dword:0

So to wrap it up:
"Hide"=dword:1 <=The item is hidden
"Hide"=dword:1 <=The item is shown
"Group"=dword:0 <=The item is found under Personal
"Group"=dword:1 <=The item is found under System
"Group"=dword:2 <=The item is found under Connections
Plus have a look to the relevant provxml file (I think it is "mxipinit_startmenu_001.provxml") which is responsible for the icons you see for each item.

Which long press end key do you use?Elfin's or Mega's?
I think that mega's didn't work.

In order to change the default application for the calculator you should edit another registry key to point to your preferred app:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCALC_TPC]
"0"="TPCCalc"
"1"="MobileCalculator.exe"
"2"=dword:2
"3"=dword:0
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shell\Rai\:M SCALC]
"0"="PegCalc"
"1"="MobileCalculator.exe"
"2"=dword:2
"3"=dword:0

Hi,

I can't find a link to Elfin 3.14 original ROM...

Would somebody help me, please? Or would somebody share 3.14 XIP, OEM & SYS?

Is there a WM 6.5 native kernel for Elfin?

Thanks.

Hi,

I got problem with GPRS connection on my own COM3 ROM. If I try to connect, it shows a "G" in the taskbar (there should be a "E", I got EDGE) and a popup says connecting...
But then nothing happens.

Somebody facing the same problem?

I already tried many options - 3.10 drivers (instead of 3.14), another WM builds, disabling all EXT packages...

Could it lay on native kernel (nk.exe)? I got WM 6.1 nk.exe. Is there a native 6.5 kernel for elfin?

Hey,
Did you try this reg entry?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=HTC_Elf_Registry_Tweaks#Show_Edge_ network_indicator_instead_of_GPRS_if_available

Unfortunately, there is no 6.5 nk for the elfin.

Hi,

yes, this reg entry is always set to 1 in my ROMs...

I've tried almost everything (but that's not true - there must be a solution)...

Another symptom - when I switch to airplane mode and back, I can't even make a call, only soft-reset helps then...

anyway, thanks for your answer(s)

Hi,

When you just dump and rebuild an official rom without making any changes
do you still have this problem?

No, I got no problems with un-touched re-cooked official ROMs...
I'm still on researching the problem... I thought it depends on WM 6.5, but it seems that's not true...

Hi kokotas,

while using your new kitchen I am able to build a rom which boots but there is no links of applications in programs as well as phone works only in airplane mode :mad:, I have tried dumping shipped rom and rebuild it but the same problem I am facing with the rebuild-shipped Rom,

My elfin works fine with my custom 20085 rom cooked using your old kitchen ( without GUI) I have also tried the same build with your new kitchen but the problem remains same.

Hi,

Try the new version, starting from scratch(dump & rebuild a rom, etc)
and hopefully your problem will be solved!

Regards!

ps:I suspect that the problem was some missing imageinfo.bin from the modules inside the installation file of the kitchen.

Problem was that RGUComp.exe was missing from CORE folder!
Take it from a previous version of the kitchen and put it in there. The kitchen should work ok now!

I also have re-uploaded the kitchen's setup.

Regards!

PS:Added Diamond to the list of supported devices:) Thank you for testing this!

New version is up! [~40% of code re-written!]
Change Log:

Removed two-modes (OEM & EXT) option.
Only the typical EXT-packages mode is used.
The structure of your EXT packages is now auto-configured the moment you place your folders inside EXT\%Device%\ . Caution! Do Not place your EXT-Packages directly under EXT\%Device%\! You must organize them into sub-directories!
No need to set the "EXT\Path#", so the tab with those settings is removed.
Note that the limit for your sub-directories remains the same as before, 16(I think it's more than enough).
Changed how the RamDisk is used.
Now the RamDisk is created whenever you start a process and
is destroyed whenever the process is finished.
Added option to auto-load last saved project when you change "Device" in the Configuration area.
Added option to create debug log in order to track any bugs & errors.
Just upload that log file and I'll try to fix any issues..
Added option to compress *.bmp(s)
Changed how to cfc manila packages.
Instead of cfc-ing packages one by one
you can cfc all included manila packages with a single click.
Changed how the AutoRun-Type mscr works:
The kitchen doesn't generate anymore the *.dat with the following entry:
Directory("\Windows\StartUp"):-File("ARMS.mscr","\Windows\ARMS.mscr")
So if you want that script to run at startup you can either include an app.dat with the above entry in your compilation or be resourceful and find another way...
(example using RunCC is attached bellow (http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=482112&d=1294331024))
Changed [Help] tab to be customizable according to your preferences.
Drag Drop doesn't freeze the windows explorer window anymore.
Applied tweaks\optimizations so that the application should be faster.
Made some overall fixes so that the application should be more stable.
Added a small video about installing\setting up the kitchen @ 1st post.

Regards!

PS: Hopefully with next version (2.1.0.0) this kitchen will reach to its destination.
I'm just waiting for any feedback for bugs&errors while I'm trying to implement registry previewing.

i cooked a rom using shipped wm6.1 rom as base rom and add a new build of wm6.5 and not removed any packages from exe folder.
there was no wince.nls file in the build so i copied it from shipped rom.
But after flashing this cooked rom it does not aligns the screen nor customized any apllications.
so i hav only windows in my system,nor the drivers for any radio etc and csreen is also not working correctly.
So can you please tell what mistake i had made in cooking.
This is my first cooked rom.

My guess is you're missing some vital packages.
To save time and trouble , when I'll be on my pc I will post a link with packages , unless in the meanwhile someone else helps you.
