Hey everybody, problem is as follows:

Installation works without problems, and after disabling HTC Home it starts properly. Everything seems to work fine, but after a few minutes of navigation it crashes! Screen freezes and no input is possible. Only way to get out is a soft reset.

does anybody have an idea how to solve the issue? would be thankfull for every suggestion!

by the way, I use Dutty's latest ROM [Jun 07] (Dutty's Diamond V1 Build 19588)

greetings!

i uninstalled and reinstalled IGO8. and now it doesn't even start up anymore. well it tries to. the starting screen shows up, and it starts processing. but at some point the whole device (kaiser) just collapses and starts up completely new!

please! someone tell me whats going on!

First: Search in rom tread
Secound: Post rom related question in rom tread (yes this is rom related)

This issue been discussed in about every new build tread since Duttys april 29 hybrid. You will find youre answer in V1 tread, and before you flip. Its normal, youre kaiser isnt dying

Just desactivate AGPS :
Edit the registry HKLM/Software/HTC/SUPL AGPS/

Set 0 to EnableAGPS key.
Restart your kaiser, relaunch IGO8 and enjoy :D

DrQ is half-right...

You also need to disable HTC-Home if you're under WM6.1 AFAIK.

thanks for your answers...

even though I'm quite new to all of this, I found out myself that aGPS and HTC have to be disabled. I did both, but the problem exists. that's why I posted.

raiisak, thanks for your comment! I think you're also talking bout the aGPS and HTC-home disabling "fix" ... cause I looked over the Dutty V1 thread more than once without finding an other post concerning this problem...

I guess I will just do what Dutty did: going back to his APR 29th build. That one was stable and everything worked without problems. also I share his opinion that 6.1 sucks.

regards!

No.. iGO8 crashes like *crazy* on my stock ATT Tilt (shipped ROM/Radio/etc). If it doesn't crash it locks it up and I have to poke the reset hole.

I'll try disabling AGPS to see if that helps.. I don't have HTC Home installed, although I did a while back.

AT&T Stock with Bloat? Cause th bloat really makes the Tilt suck.

As long as HTC Home isn't running. Igo and HTC Home share a file. But like twin brothers they don't share it well.

I wasted hours of my life getting iGo8 to work with my Kaiser. Unfortunately it's a bigger problem than just uninstalling HTC Home (if you can) and disabling A-GPS.

In the end I dumped Dutty and flashed L26_Kaiser_Diamond_V8_light release by Laurentius26. This solved all the problems. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=400118

Only thing that doesn't work with this ROM are custom keyboards (SIP), such as PCM Keyboard. Apart from that iGo8 works a treat

best solution so far, flash to this rom just to test, deactivate aGPS AND EVERYTHING RUNS GOOD SO FAR

Of course lol... it does not have HTC Home included.

You have to disable HTC Home, and disable A-GPS to get iGO8 to work under WM6.1.

I run IGO8 with Dutty's Diamond V1 without problems (if I disable HTC Home, that is). The reboots have something with either the legality of your IGO8 release, or with the fact that you dumped to many POI files in the POI directory (i.e. all available countries). In Dutty's Hybrid V2 this was not an issue, and it must have something to do with memory management in the Diamond ROM.

@mb: different ROMs work best for different people, no need to be a fanboy.

As mentioned in this thread, AGPS fixes it. Very odd. iGO has some quirky bugs.. This one I would consider a MAJOR bug, but oh well.. Another bug I noticed (and is on their website in the FAQS) is that their timezone/system time from GPS functionality is hosed.. Always wind up with the time on the PDA being GMT. Have to fiddle to get it to set the time right then disable that functionality or disable it and fix it in WM.

Otherwise, it seems to work well enough.. Wish I had 3d/buildings here to look at, but otherwise the maps look pretty nice with parks and such outlined. Still looking into how to add my own POI's without some silly .net gui in Windows to do it.

Just to be pedantic; AGPS is a problem in WM6.0 as well. WM6.1 may require the additional step of disabling HTC Home.

No. IGO8 works with HTC Home in Dutty's WM6.1 Hybrid V2. It really depends on the OS version in the specific ROM, be it WM6 or WM6.1.

Missed the "may" part huh? Or got hung up on the 6.1 part? I suppose I shouldn't have even mentioned WM 6.1.

I guess you were just too pedantic :D ... but you're right, I think I missed the may part. Regards.
