I expect that the new one will be a 1340 mAh version! Same like the MDA Vario IV, but that's still not certain.

The HTC Touch Diamond official battery is at present the BA S270 with 900mAh and the BP E270 battery is of the HTC Touch Pro (aka. Raphael) and has 1340mAh.

Since the two devices have the same dimensions barring the thickness the BP E270 is also compatible with the Diamond, but it will require what's named a 'blister' battery cover - which is basically adds a little more depth to the phone.

Cannot wait myself for an extended battery as I use my Diamond like a power-hog at the moment.

Maybe this one: HTC Touch Extended Life Battery - 1500 mAh (http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=879) is available, but I'm not sure it works on the Diamond but it's a battery for the Touch so i think it is possible...

There is also a HTC Touch Diamond Extended Life Battery - 1500 mAh (http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=879) available. I'm not sure it works on the Diamond but it's a battery for the Touch so i think it is possible...

Probably better to pre-order this one

2200 mAh, which seems plenty to me! With all the energy saving tweaks my standard battery lasts much longer than before, even to an acceptable level.

lol, no im pretty sure the dimensions for the battery slot in the touch, and for the diamond are quite different. lol otherwise we would not have been w8ing all this time for an extend live battery would we?...

I can only see a .nl site, and nothing in english... lol any chance of u posing a link (that link to a preorder site for a 2200mah, just looks full of crap... the discription and pic are stupid, and they even advertise expandable memory for Diamond on that site lol, dont trust that site with a preorder imo)

No it is not possible. It's for the Touch, not Touch Diamond and i would recommend that you should change the name of the link because someone may misunderstood and buy that.

Is this one ticker then the 900 mAh?

Yes it is.

You can visually see it in the pre-order link. Not to mention the extra back cover. If it was the same size there wouldn't be a need for the secondary cover.

Cheers,
Byron.

Don't you think it's a bit too much for a silly battery? I mean with p&p it's gonna be around £45? It's just 1300mAh Li-ion battery, not a rocket science, how can other similar ones can be priced at around £10. I don't even wanna mention that by adding those 5,5mm at the back it makes diamond looking like a coal again.

I'll wait until someone else gets it and makes sure it's not too thick. With the American dollar the way it is, that's about 60 bucks plus shipping.

Batteries here aren't that expensive.... I'd at least like to know it'll work fine (physical fitment) before I spend that much on a battery.

Hi all,
searching for a good solution to the Diamond battery, I found this on the Italian HTC web site :
http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/it/p_htc_item.aspx?i=171883

A portable "charge storage". Look useful when in desperate need of a charge.
