Since the 707 Asia version seems to be the latest one, I highly doubt it.

Again, folks: the Asia ROM works very well with other region devices too, so there is no reason why not to go for the 707 ROM.
I run it successfully on my EU WWE device and it works perfectly with Vodafone Germany.

What do you mean with enhanced? Does this ROM leak more memory, or is it partly solved and does it leak less? And to what other ROM does this compare to? To the 1.37.707 Asia one? Or the 1.37.405 one?

Definitely agree, i have tried the asian wwe 1.37, TLR and the ME seems to be the fastest out there at the moment. the touchflo is smooth and programs seem to load quicker!!!!

Just installed this rom and with some additional tweaks, it seems to be running fine. However, I have already come across a few little problems.

First problem is, when using Opera, and you tap on the search field, the keyboard pops up, and the search field moves up just above the keyboard, but then when you start typing, the search field shifts all the way down, below and BEHIND the keyboard, obviously preventing you from seeing what you are typing!

The other problem which I'm having is whilst connected to Active Sync, I am unable to use the internet on the Diamond! No data connection whatsoever! Using GPRS and 3G works just fine but I can't get it to work whilst connected to my computer!

I never had these problems with the old shipped ROM.

Not serious issues but still would be nice to find a fix.

Anyone else having these issues? Please do check.

I found another bug. When the agenda alert goes you have to press the upper toolbar and then you'll get a little menu. You can choose between battery status, gsm/gprs (etc) status and also the agenda alert icon (little clock icon). However, if my agenda alert goes and I press the little clock in the opened upper toolbar menu, it doesn't show me the appointment, but it inadvertently switches to gsm/gprs status. By repeating the process it functions as it should. So I always have to do it twice...

This is by far the best ROM out there. The 1.37.707 SE Asia ROM didnt cut it for me - too much lag in the TF3D, even with Schaps Advanced settings, and I had issues when a call came thru - wouldnt let me use the on screen Accept call button - had to use the hardward button to accept the calls.

FYi, I have the Euro Diamond which had the 1.35 SPL originally, i did the HSPL developer 1.4 ver, installed 1.37 SE Asia, then HSPL'd back to the original 1.37 SPL, then installed the ME 1.37 ROM and I just cant complain (except for that SMS bug in TF3D - but all rom got it)

Totally sweet, and smooth like the Youtube vids :D

I would try re-downloading the image... Maybe you have a corrupt ROM download?

You can update your Diamond by first using HardSPL (search the forums) and then updating with the ROM you like (search again).

I bought mine in the middle east (UAE) but on the box it says something like "for use in FR, UK, HU, ..." and so on, listing all the two letter european abbreviations... I have stock ROM 1.35.456.3. So the question is, is mine the Middle Eastern or European version

i think any rom with .456 is middle east.. i bought mine from lebanon and it had 1.35.456 and i updated it now with the 1.37.456.2 and it works perfectly.. hope this answers ur question

Thanks, it does. But what does it say on the box where it says made in taiwan? It should also list what countries it's made for (two letter abbreviations).

OK, sorry but just to be SURE, so what you're saying is that if I do the update successfuly without hard-spl, then my warranty is still good and HTC has no way to detect that this is unofficial and I can still download future updates from HTC. man dont worry

but jast make sure you restart your computer before the update and turn off the screensaver mode on your PC

dont do anything tell the update finished

and let me tell you somthing that if the update is 1.00 it will not update
it will tell you that this rom is older than your courrent rom in you device.

means your device not ME version try other ROMS or take it to HTC company in your country they will update it for you

Okay, this is my "1 full day of use" comparison.

I originally got my Diamond about two weeks ago (from a mall in Bangkok, near where I live). It came with rom 1.35.xxx, which I already knew (from reading xda-developers :) ) that I would upgrade.

So for almost two weeks, I was using
RUU_Diamond_HTC_Asia_WWE 1.37.707.1

After flashing that, I also upgraded to .NET CF 3.5, installed to main memory (not the 4GB internal storage).

With this setup, TF3D was quite smooth, with no noticeable lag. There was a sometimes annoying lag when tapping an SMS in touchflo and waiting for the WM6 messaging/outlook app to start, especially if it wasn't running already. There was also a slight memory-leak problem, but a soft-reset every other day seemed to be a solution for that.

As a data device, though, it was pretty good. Where it fell down was as a phone. The "answer" interface was sometimes *incredibly* slow to appear, especially if I was using Opera at the time (so bad that some calls went to voice-mail before I was able to answer them...)

The soft "Answer" button on the screen only worked sporadically, and sometimes I ended up mashing the hard-button "answer" so many times, trying to answer the call, that it ended up on speaker (i am not sure why).

24 hours ago (and I've been awake for all but 4 of them) I flashed:
RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-ME_1.37.456.2

I also upgraded this to .Net CF 3.5 (again to main memory). In addition, I restored all my emails, sms and personal settings using Sprite Backup/Restore (which I downloaded from HTC Club, along with the ROM).

After heavy usage for much of the 20 hours I was awake, things I know for sure are:

TF3D performance is roughly the same as .707 Asia ROM. It's still smooth, fast, and responsive.

There is noticeably less lag when moving from Touchflo into a WM6 application. Clicking "inbox" from the email preview tab, or clicking "reply" to an sms is snappier. Not Earth-shatteringly faster, but more responsive.

The phone functions are FINALLY usable!!! The answer-screen comes up immediately, and the soft-button works now. Even the note-taking app quickly comes up during a call. For the first time, I was able to smoothly switch between two calls (when receiving a second call while already on one).

Things that I don't know, but think might be true: the memory leak seems less. I have had most major apps (including Opera, Contacts, Calendar, Messaging - email and sms, Google Maps, Teeter, OneNote, Camera, Photo Album and Total Commander) open at least once, most of them multiple times.

The drop-down task-list says I'm using 69% of memory, with ActiveSync, Contacts and SMS/MMS apps open right now.

This seems better than I had before.

Battery life also seems better (I just plugged it in, but I don't think I was going anywhere near 20 hours before without a recharge, but I didn't make a lot of voice-calls, so I don't have any solid data to back this up.

Anyway - overall, I think it's a winner if only because the phone functions finally work as I expect. I have done no ROM tweaks yet (on the .707, my only tweak was to enable wake-up on sms, which I will do for this rom also).

So anyway - if you're using the 1.37.707, and live in Asia, you can definitely download the ME 1.37.456, and it's definitely an improvement in some areas, and works fine with DTAC (my local mobile network provider).

So... you had a Euro Diamond changed to HSPL with 1.37 SE Asia & back to the original 1.37 SPL (at this point your device should be covered by warranty, am I correct here?). So no longer needs 1.40.OliNex using hardSPL?

If my assumption was correct, then your Diamond is now backed by warranty coverage, & just simply did an upgrade flash to the ME 1.37 ROM?

My Diamond was purchased from Hong Kong, so basically I had to use 1.40 OliNex HardSPL to do ROM Flashes (which is currently the case), so does the ME 1.37 ROM have regional setting for country Hong Kong?
