New Core! XIP 20202 Open windows folder only cost 0.5s [Archive]

I see the xip version in Dr. Martin Gonzo's v1.1 rom is "19195"
Now I cooked a 20202 xip for vox
the data as below:

You can see the file list speed increased 56%
that means it cost you less than 0.5s to enter the "windows" folder.(Use Resco Explorer)

I have replaced xip part of Dr. Martin's Windows v1.1 rom with this one.

Ha, it's not 19202.

I hava 19202 and 19700 already. but performance just like 19195.
But this one very different.

Haha, so why are you have 20202 XIP only, and not SYS? :D
All the files in your 20202 XIP are same as in 19202, except cachefilt.dll, filesys.exe fsdmgr.dll initvmap.exe

I am not sure about the version no., maybe HEX (edit by winhex)
I get it at a china forum: www.ioicn.com.cn

But the performance is ture, i do the test by myself.
and i can not find the SYS part.

I don't know why the "File Explorer" come with system still very slow.
I always use Resco Explorer,so I found the Resco Explorer is speed up.

Reboot your phone, put english in regional setting and locale

And change the time zone...

Reboot your phone and it's done

This rom work fine

CE OS is the version of SYS part i believe, not XIP part.

I included this xip in my rom (NEO v0.8=>maybe v0.9 with new XIP) with XIPPort, i don't see the difference (increase speed ???) and CE OS version is the same.

Of course ;)

1 - Download XIPPort (bepe's on xda)
2 - Extract zip on XIPPort folder
3 - Place your "OS.nb" (or "windows.nb", base rom) in the XIPPort folder
4 - Place "xip20202.bin" in XIPPort folder
5 - Rename it "xip_out.bin"
6 - Launch "XIPPort.exe"
7 - Rename "nk.nb" by "OS.nb" (or "windows.nb")
8 - Click on "write xip_out.bin to:"

It's finished.

You could use your new OS.nb (or windows.nb) with new XIP inside in your kitchen to rebuild your rom.

But, i can see if this new xip is better, i don't know how to see XIP version in rom, and no speed increase...

This XIP is for WM6.1 or can we use it on WM6.0 ?

Maybe only WM6.1, because i have some bugs in "settings=>about" (squares replace the text : Operator/Manufacturer/Microsoft/Language/File System)

So, it's better to use a PPC XIP 20262
The author of XIP20262 promised it's not HEX.

Sure, the PPC 20262 xip is surely not for vox.
i put it here is just for papamopps to take into his PPC rom.

The 20202 one is i cooked for VOX.

hahaha. i cannot do anything with it..cause porting it is sooo strange....i get several folders...etc....

BUT even if 20202 shall be hexed...it is running FAST!!!!

what do you mean?

I tested it, it doesn't work on Vox (no boot : white screen), it's just for ppc.

This XIP (20262) is strange : no "boot.rgu" file included.

when i tried to cook the rom using this XIP i get an error:

Searching for IMGFS start... Not found!

IMGFS start is altered by the xipport
now any idea to resolve this...?

You can just use msflshtool.exe to replace the xip part
No need to rebuild your imgfs.

Is it possible to replace XIP of a already cooked ROM? I have my custom ROM and I don't want to re-do it. Anyone?

Better question: At what point of the cooking process does the XIP go into the *.nb??

I think I figured it out! ^^

The cooking process do nothing to the XIP.

XIP at the first part of Windows.nb, your cooking only changed the imgfs part.

So yes , you can only repalce the xip part of your windows.nb
no need to redo the "buildimgfs" and "make_imgfs" process

after the "msflshtool.exe windows.nb -r xip20202.bin -p 1 " command,
use htc rom tool to build your nbh
