When you flash with mirage select pda.
Try to flash the full i780_PUHE1_Rev12.img first http://rs346.rapidshare.com/files/120197435/i780PUHE1.7z and then the pda part.

I dont know if i need to flash it or not, i've flashed to the russian phone/eboot part tha 1st day it came out!!!

MSN messenger works perfectly with WiFi and when the phone fells into sleep mode, messenger will try to reconnect via WiFi when turned back on using the power button, not via GPRS like previous versions (annoying thing).

Not work for me so saddd.
First I update the Russian E1 version (all boot, PDA and Phone) boot up and every fine (in Russian language)
Then update the PDA part to E1 ,boot up and stuck at samsung logo.
I've try 2 time and have same results......

If you don't see "Today Plus" in Today | Items, modify the DLL name of the key "\HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items\Today Plus" from TodayPlus1.dll to TodayPlus.dll when using DXHE1 ROM.

Well. I couldnt change the port in the applet but my gps software (sygic) allows to change the port string so I wrote "GPD1:" and now It works. :)

I've loaded the file, it comes with only PDA not includes Phone and eboot images.

I would like to know different between HE1 Image on 1st post and the HE1 complete.

What the "complete" means ?

I found that, the physical hard reset is not functional.

After hold GREEN+RED+Power and entering the bootloader screen, the keyboard is not functional for push "Space" for hard-reset or "any key" for skip.

Now i am trying to reflash the PDA part to reset my phone, since my phone was crashed by testing some software.

too me is the same thing with eboot e1, but is you wait 20 seconds you will have pda clean. I don't why with eboot hc4 i has not this problem, I seen the format screen

I see the screen with 1. to format with space bar and 2. with skip with any key.
After press spacebar you are right, it seems that it was freezed but after 20-30 seconds the Samsung logo comes and it was hard resetted.
I think, its not a really problem, when you know to wait 20-30 seconds.

D1 rom also same behavior, no fancy banner when formatting like C4 rom.
But result is same (hard reset), so it's not problem.

We have PUHE1_Rev12.img (eboot+PDA+phone), but it's russian. :-)
I think complete eng rom is only DXHC4.

Kudos to your first ROM.

After I installed your ROM, I found that suddenly I can't install a lot of apps, eg. respack96dpi, wktask, etc. Also, from Resco Registry Editor, I can't change the value of the security policies. Not sure if this is cause by the ROM.

Anyway, here is my new ROM info.
PDA : i780DXHE1
PHONE : i780PUHE1

Kindly advise.

No, I didn't need to hard reset. But in Mirage, after the full russian update,there was a message "Perform Hardware Reset". The only thing I did was insert the stylus into the Hardware Reset button (Small Hole) on the left side of the phone. I'm not sure if that did anything or if it was required.

Whenever i try to connect over gprs or 3g it just says error synchronising, however when i use wifi it connects fine.

Opera and everything else work perfectly over gprs.

i loded this rom, but i think its older then the rom posted on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388067&highlight=i780

however both roms do not have threaded SMS, i am using the SMS chat, i like the WM6.1 threaded sms as its the default app and do not give problems... i was using it on my hermes/dopod 838Pro.

can some one post the cab if there is one for the WM6.1, i have tried the Palm treaded, and few other threaded sms s/w but not as good as the default app..

I dont think so, because people go to samsung service centers where the get their devices flashed towards the latest version.. and thats HE1.. it seems a E2 is already shipped on a few phones.

Outlook errors won't connect over gprs/3g (wifi is fine)

Most of my problems was when I checked my internet connection the proxy server was blocking my connections to outlook email account (pop3) and my imap account. Once I turned the proxy off my connection was fine.

Give the above a try my help some of you out.

thuoan: i have got the same problem, it seems like Windows Live wants to use a certain profile that is not used to connect to the Internet.

e.g. My Vodafone WAP is my ISP service, but Live searches in other profiles.. fixed it a few weeks ago to defining al kinds of connection types..

But it is a bug imho.

I'm from Finland too and would like to know if you know any english ROM that would work fine with i780. Also, do you happen to have the original finnish ROM for i780? I upgrade E1 around 1 week but now my i780 sometime will suddenly turn off power. Did anybody got same problem? Before I use HD1 rom and feel stable.

After using it for a while, with the original rom, then HC1, HC4, D1, then E1, my phone would still act up on me sometimes. It would shut itself off, or reboot itself for no reason (I did not install many programs and do not have programs to connect to data like email or weather, etc.) when using older roms.

Then on E1, couple days ago, the phone appears fine, with all functions working properly, battery signal is good, signal is 4-bar strong... but for a very long stretch I have no phone call. I start suspecting something is wrong, then I discover the phone part hangs ! (tap on signal won't do anything, call myself from landline got transferred immediately to voicemail). But on Today's screen everything is normal !!!

I am now back to my trusty TC, with many roms to choose from. I am thinking getting rid of i780. I know probably it is just my unit, but I don't want to go thru another one for now.

Hope both the hardware and software development will mature very soon.

Mine with pda=DXHE1 and radio=PUHE1 is working just fine, but today i got something strange for the first time: the phone was "resting" side by side with my laptop while I was working, and I heard a "beep"... loked at the phone and it went in offline/flight mode... and why?!? I found solution. I flashed the Russian ROM again -> messeger started working -> exported current internet connetion from registry with resco -> flashed english pda -> imported "russian" registry key => Messenger works

I made the upgrade to E1 (phone and pda), and I have several issues right now: sometimes, the phone fails and requests again the pin code, the gps takes about 10 minutes or more to get satelites (Garmin Mobile XT), and several unstable situations... I hope that mobile 6.1 comes soon for this phone, because I'm already crying for my HTC Touch... never gave me any kind of trouble...

I bought my phone from Lebanon (middle-east), the keyboard has arabic letters as well as english but the ROM is english, (you can select the language of preference from regional settings)

As for dumping, i'm new to all this, if someone can guide me through it i will be more than glad to share

Why don't you downgrade to D1, but the modified version that has Live Messenger working through WiFi?

I already downloaded it. I was hoping something new to show up, but if it doesn't, I think I'll give a try to that ROM. But, the phone ROM is the E1, maybe the problem is the phone ROM and not the PDA... let's see.

Using Internet Explorer I cant open the site www.live.com, but using opera it works perfectly.

*IE opened without problems any other site i tried.

Phone's ROM Version and WIFI version:

PDA: i780 DXHC4
PHONE: i780 DXHC4

wifi: s/w: 1.0.0.0
h/w: 1.0

the problem I HAVE is that WIFI CONNECTS OKAY and DETECTS NETWORK OKAY, however, I CANNOT surf and/or download any DATA using Internet Explorer. It SOMETIMES download, but VERY VERY SLOW.

Can I get some help please????

Make sure your battery is fully charged just to be sure/ over 60% charge worked fine for me

(0) Download Mirage Updater from http://rs227tg2.rapidshare.com/files/110283700/dl/Mirage_LV_v1.8.rar
(1) Download the Russian ROMS from http://rs346gc2.rapidshare.com/files/120197435/dl/i780PUHE1.7z
(2) Download the E1 English PDA ROM from http://www.mediafire.com/?z8zdmypeamt
(3) Switch off your phone and remove the battery, then insert the battery
(4) Extract the two files downloaded in steps 1,2,3 in the same directory
(5) Launch Mirage updater. Select MIRAGE LV image as the profile
(6) Select EBOOT+PDA+PHONE and select the extracted RUSSIAN .img file
(7) Click on DETECT
(8) Switch on the phone while holding the ENTER and FUNCTION buttons (ALT BUTTON)

Please help. I upgraded my Phone using the Russian ROM with no problem - tested OK. But after upgrading the PDA part to English, finger mouse or 4way is not working anymore. I tried also the D1 ROM, same result when upgrading the PDA to English. What do you think is the problem?

hi, the enter button is the first button of the first column, bottom, of the right side! and the alt button is the one painted half white half black, and is located at the first column, first button of the bottom.

with the phone powered off press those two buttons and at the same time press power button until the phone powers on, you should only release the enter and alt button after the emergency mode appears on the screen.

I am really frustrated :(

No matter which PDA or Phone version I used, I always have this "cprog.exe" error and I have to hard reset to start all over again. It happens even I have no external software installed. That means, a clean phone also has this horrible cprog.exe error. Yesterday I had to hard reset 5 times in a day....

May I know anyone here has the same problem, anyway it can be fixed? Thanks very much.

Iv just installed (or tried to install) the russion rom on my phone as per instructions by EFN, on a windows xp pc however when it get to the phone stage it says:

KW.KIM Create retry ...keeps retrying then fails!

Iv already installed both the Samsung USB Driver (MCCI 4.34 WHQL v3.4 that was posted on the English i780DXHE1 posts...

Whats gone wrong any advice?

Already solved. The main problem is in my downloaded ROM file. I try to download again(with much better connection) and try to flash again. The result is SUCCESS and already upgrade to WM 6.1

Just follow the step as mentioned earlier in this topic.

Suggestion: It will be much better if the rom file is in compressed file(rar, zip, etc) to avoid a broken file in the rom. This is will be really helpful for me(us) to download since the main issue is bad internet connection ;)

I have the usual dxhe1, puhe1 configuration. A very good cook indeed.
The problem is that I cannot adjust the brightness, the phone is constantly very low in brightness.
(superbright does not seem to work).


Only when the phone is plugged in (external power) can I adjust the brightness.


I believe that this is due to the HTC OEM software.

Any ideas how to fix that?
