Hi!
I've tried out that Diamond can charge, connect and communicate with PC/Charger through a standard mini-B USB connector. (read more... (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB)) You do not need that special "one-corner-rounded" connector that came with your device!
I use a charger that I've got for my Bluetooth GPS and it's a bit quicker than the normal HTC charger (HTC: 0.5A, GPS: 1A). No adverse effect can be found on battery life. Heating from battery during charging is normal.
I attach a few images to be exact.
Use this plug with a caution that warranty might be broken if device get damaged with non-HTC charger.
Regs, Cina.
