I just said that it works, warez or not. It has nothing to do with making reclame of warez stuff. Only that it is possible that it works without a SD card.

What's the big deal if you've purchased the official SD card?
You can't blame people trying to use iGO8 with "workarounds" if the official provider doesn't deliver a working solution through the official channel...

Stop crying. If i bought the iGO8 and it is not working then i am allowed to use a patch that it will work on my Diamond. Has nothing to do with warez.

If iGO8 is not working with devices that has internal storage and not SD-Card then u tweak it. I mean we do tweak our devices to store messages or internet cache files to internal storage is that warez. so if we tweak the iGO8 to make it possible to read internal storage as SD-Card !!! is it warez or is it tweaking !!!!!! from my point of view this should not be conciderd as warez because u make the software to acknowledge the internal storage card as SD-Crad to read your maps so to me that's kind of tweaking the software.

It's fast, and it eats battery like nothing else.
I can go for 1½ hour with iGO8, compared to 5 hours with Garmin XT (I use both).

OK, start all over again from scratch, and follow the procedure described initially.
I had exactly the same "snag" as you mention in your first post. The first time it says that an "older version exists in your card, do you want to downgrade?", I pressed yes. Then I got "a newer version exists on your card. do you want to upgrade?" I pressed Yes. The third time I got the "older version" message again, I pressed NO. And it worked!!

Any confirmation that IGO 2006 or IGO8 works with Diamond means that you're using cracked version, since original can only be run from its bound SD card.


On the other hand. I don't see problem of using cracked software if you have bought it earlier. It's probably legal.

You should study the "License Agreement" mumbo jumbo from IGO and see if they say anything about using IGO outside of their SD card.

i drove me crazy! at the end i gave up the "hard buttons sounds" in settings and it is finally, quiet...i do remember something about "use device settings" but i don't find it now.:confused: can u be more specific?
the only place where i found "use device settings" is at power management and do want "backlight always on".

In sounds -> key sounds you can put the button click volume to zero (if I understood correctly the problem).

For backlight always on, go to settings -> device and click on the first line to toggle the different choices.

Ok, two options:

Open the .txt file and remove the first line, in other words make sure it is written like this:

ok doing it and it works for me ...with the base map. I now put a map in the folder internal storage...... igo8........ content ....maps ...here I put in the german map but where in the programm can i choose the map or change it?

In the iGO8 you go to Find and then Adress and then on the top you see the country, select and choose Germany to find the adress you want. It is not needed to change the map between germany and basemap, because iGO8 see as one map together.

Make sure you paste as shortcut not just paste. Make also sure you put the maps in the folder MAP without s.

Bullshit, the licence is HARD CODED to the storage card on which iGo 8 is sold, there is NO WAY that licence can work with the \internal strorage of the Diamond that requires a NEW LICENCE

Don't forget to translate "internal storage" in the phone user interface language. For example in french the line

Hello, I hardly ever post through this forum. However, upon reading through some of the messages regarding this issue, I feel I must have my 2 pennies worth!

I am an IT engineer. Copied or not, so long as you own or have purchased a license for the number of copies of software that is in use at any one time, then this is NOT considered to be piracy. So, for example, if you transfer i-GO from the supplied media, ie SD card to another device and remove the software from the original device before using it on the new device or media, then there is no reason why you should not use the original license purchased with the software. Another example, do you really think that DELL or HP or the company I work for or indeed any other major supplier of computer hardware/software install a fresh copy of Microsoft Windows on each new computer from scratch. No, they dont! They have a clone which is copied onto each PC and then needs a licence attaching to it. Therefore, many thousands of 'COPIES' of the cloned images hard disk images complete with Microsoft Windows installed are put onto hard disks before being licenced.

I saw you have an S740 and just got one too. One of the issues I have is to have the "joystick" to work since it doesn't recognise my button and the S740 doesn't have a touch screen. Any chance you could share you sys.txt file with me ? And also possibly in your iGO8 directory, within the Data.zip file, in config, there is a keybind.txt file.
