During the last couple of days, everytime I try to update the GPS data, QuickGPS gives the message "COnnection failed. Please try again later".
Please note that Internet is working in all the programs.
Did anyone else get this?

Sorry for this, but I really need to bump this ;)
Lack of QuickGPS is very annoying. Does it work for everybody else? If so, perhaps somebody could post his/her relevant registry entries please?

Up untill 3 days ago i could only update through gprs and NOT through wifi.
Then it changed so now i can update only through wifi and NOT through gprs.
I tell you these devices have their own brain!!!

OK, I did a hard reset and now it works - but hopefully you won't have to. I saved the registry state immediately after the reset - so compare these values with yours. Perhaps the solution is there.

Thanks Pedmond,
For the posting of the default registry.
I hit the same problem as well, and attempted to recover from the problem by playing around with the registry based on your post. I attempted the values for older versions of QuickGPS. Alas, all my attempts are futile. :(
Like you, I need to do a hard reset to recover. So it appears that this version of QuickGPS utilises stuffs beyond the registry. :(
In any case, should the problem reappears, I was thinking of downloading the Xtra.bin file from xtra1.gpsonextra.net and update the file (in /TEMP and /Windows) and time stamp in the registry manually.
Cheers.

After I've tried with different registry settings without luck, I've found on another forum a workaround that solved the "Could not connect. Try again later" issue. I though to share it:
1. Open IE (this is what I've tried, it might work with Opera as well) and access Internet (any WEB page you want). This is for "activating" the Internet connection, doesn't matter if it's on WI-FI, Active Sync, GPRS, etc.
2. Open QuickGPS and click "download". Now it should work.
This is NOT preserved even after a soft-reset, I've checked.
P.S. I've posted this on the other thread as well (QuickGPS and 1.93 ROM)

It works like a lighting strike!
I don't know why, but it works , maybe a sticky one for all of us (those who search for "normal solution" round 'n round )?
Thank you so much (i hope to discover why does it work )

I noticed that the registry key HKLM\Software\HTC\QuickGPS\region was set to "IN" (for India). I changed that to "US" and QuickGPS has started working. I can click on Download and it downloads and updates remaining time correctly.

Odd, I checked my registry also because I was having the same problem. But my region was --, changed to US and worked like a champ
