Hello, can you give me the link wher i can find the latest igi for diamond, but if it possible not give me a rapidshare link because i cannot create premium member acces...
Also, i tried the intruction on the first page, renemed tha app.dat for igo8.exe, ten edited the txt but igo8 didnt start...

I connected the diamond via usb/not acsunch/copied the igo8 and 2577 folder to the int.storage...

I forgot to say, i tried to download what i eill need for my version of igo, imean languages etc...

Most likely you will have to use a license file from one of the previous versions (I don't remember exactly which one...). The problem you have has been discussed here approximately a month ago. Please use search. You will find anything you need.

Remember: search! (keywords: license, fail to start, etc... Be intuitive. ;) )

When running bluetooth connected to my Alpine car kit i dont get any sound from iGO8. If i disconnect from bluetooth then restart iGO it's fine.

Anyone else have this problem? I suspect it could be the Alpine unit ,as i'm running jetware as well and the phone doesn't exactly work as it should.

I just changed mu i780 to a new Touch HD, installed Go8.3.2.64873 on my card, and it works!!..I have 2 problems, and 1 question:
Problem 1 after copying skin to content, still the skin selection is grayed out..!!
Problem 2 when setting the screen to be at all time on, the HD is starting to "tick" all the time
Please help
Question: How do I enable to roadsigns to show when traveling on Highway??..is it a matter of the maps??

i've noticed sometimes after closing IGO8 the phones brightness is very dark. It's mostly when plugged into the cigarette lighter charger. Anyone noticed this? Minimise sometimes ends the program too.

Other than that works well, much better than tomtom or destinator7.

After renaming application.dat and editing the sys.txt to what you've specified I'm still haaving touble with IGO8 on my Diamond. When I install it it says "there is an older version of the program on the storage card. Do you wish to downgrade now?" I said yes but after it installs it asks me the exact same thing again and it just keeps doing that. Any idea as to what my problem is?

So Gurion & Dimka skin which states that they are for 800x480 are not for the Touch HD??

I solved my problem. In the Igo Omnia (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416289) topic I downloaded another data.zip folder. In this folder there is a folder called ui_igo8. From here I copied the folder 240_320 into my original data.zip and with the sys.txt below it works in portrait.

I would like to create custom poi icons for VGA.
I have already created custom icon sets with resolution 32x32, but this is not as good as it might be on our VGA displays, it works perfect for QVGA, though.


But when I try to create 64x64 icons, they come up like this

I hope you have this icons in folder iGO8/ui-igo8/common .... so all you need to do with this resized icons is to create iGO8/ui-igo8/VGA/COMMON and put your icons there, but also with modified xxx.spr -> in row Stripes = XX must be XX equal to 64 (if your icons are 64x something)

It's been months now that I am using iGo with no lag or problem.

Last week I have decided to upgrade to 8.3.2.7 and to configure for TTS.
The result is that everything works great now but the gps.

The fix is around 1 minute (with GPS ephemerids downloaded) and keep disconnecting.

My registry gps tweaks weren't changed:

Under: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\

- Drivers\GpsOneDevice\PollInterval -> 256 (default is 1000)
- Drivers\InputBufferSize -> 256 (default is 4096)
- Drivers\OutputBufferSize -> 128 (default is 4096)
- Drivers\SleepOnNoData -> 100 (default is 1000)
- Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize -> 256

Navigon 7 is working like a charm (it's really PERFECT).
TomTom 7.9 is working really good.
iGo now keeps losing signal and has random lag.

Has anyone other experienced this change in behaviour from 8.3.2.6 to 8.3.2.7?

Well I did some testing during the weekend with unhappy results.

The new version of iGo (8.3.2.7xxx) is damn laggy.

I tried with different gps settings and 2 radios (including brand new 1.11.xx).
The result is a constant 1 to 2 seconds of lag.

If I roll back to 8.3.2.6 with 1.08 radio I can achieve a 1 sec max lag on certain occasion and lag free for most of the time.

I did also some further testing on graphic settings.

Using driver=GX result in missing GX.dll and poor performance.
Instead driver=GDI is surely smoother.

BTW... I am gonna stop using iGO definitely and switch to the more reliable Navigon.

I had iGO8 running perfectly on my Sprint Touch Diamond, then I got a Touch Pro last week. Obviously, I had to edit the SYS.txt file because the Touch had Internal Storage whereas the Pro has an SD card. Despite repeated edits, I keep getting the error "Cannot find path, maps are isolated" whenever I try to set a destination.

All I am doing at this point is choosing my house as my current place, and choosing a gas station down the road as the destination, but regardless of how I edit the SYS.txt file, I just keep getting the error.

I saw this "Cannot find path" issue mentioned on page 46 of this thread, but it was not discussed in much detail. Anyone have a suggestion on what I'm missing here?

SOLVED.
I had removed maps for states I wouldn't be needing (to save room on my SD card), and kept KY, IN, OH, TN for local purposes, and FL since my folks live there. For some reason, it was opening up Florida as the default map, so when I looked into the error further, I found that it was trying to route me from Jacksonville FL to the gas station near my house! Obviously couldn't do that, since I had removed so many connecting state maps! DUH!
Not sure why it defaulted to opening FL map...

But all is well now!

I know that this tread is for htc diamond and igo 8, but I have jgo 8 on a zenec headunit in my car and i have not been able to force igo to display watch as 24H it will only display it as am/pm. there is no setting in menu for this so proberly I have to edit sys.ini or a other file ?????

Hi everyone, I have a big problem with IGO8, everytime I exit IGO, most of my other running applications give error like "failed to launch citytime.exe" etc, softreseting helps cure this only after reseting in more than 2 times. After 1st and 2nd i'm getting same error with other running applications with "failed to launch" message, citytime is just one example. PLEASE HELP!! Much appreciated

After the install when i click to the nav n go iGO8 icon appears only the little circle (like when u wait to load something) but after that nothing... somebody had this problem ??

I have iGO 8 for the HTC Diamond installed and it works a treat.
I used two torrents to download the program:
1. The iGO 8 for HTC Diamond software with working licence, but French maps
2. The full iGO 8 software with europe maps (not HTC software)

The trick is to install the Diamond version of iGO 8 which will work fine (although it will show you a map of France!). Then you simply copy the UK (and other countries if you wish) map files across into the iGO directory on your Diamond phone.

Trust me, it is worth it when it is installed. It is a great little SatNav software. Couple that with a Herbert Richter car mount and you wont need anything else! :cool:

I'm trying to get iGO working on my new Diamond. Unfortunately, its not working well and I've hit a dead end.

Here's how I have it setup:
1. Juicy 4.6 ROM
2. iGo8 v.8.3.2.71348 (default iGo skin, speedcam files, and set to 3D view)
3. Loquendo TTS (Susan & Dave (US) v1.74)

SITUATION:
If I turn on my Sprint Diamond with TF3D set to auto load, iGo8 loads fine but TTS fails, you get the tell-tale ding instead of the voices.

If I turn on my phone w/ TF3D loaded, then unload TF3D, iGo loads but TTS fails.

If I turn on my phone without TF3D set to autoload iGo8 loads fine, TTS works fine.

If I turn on my phone without TF3D, I then load TF3D, then use my phone normally, then unload TF3D, iGo8 & TTS works fine.

From what I understand it takes 50megs of memory to run iGo8 & TTS. With TF3D loaded my phone has about 97megs of memory free so I'm not sure what the issue is. It seems like something is staying resident in the memory only when TF3D is set to load at startup. I'm not sure how to figure out what this is. I'd also much prefer to not have to unload TF3D to be able to run iGo8 with TTS. Any suggestions on what I can try?

For all you, who had same problem, solution is this


You have to use astroGPSlauncher every time. Create a shortcut with parameters.
Create a shortcut for a ppc. This is a .ink file.
Right click on it, select properties.
In the "Target" field add the location of astrolauncher . this is my target

"\AstroGPSLauncher\AstroGPSLauncher.exe" \Internal Storage\Igo8\Igo8.exe"

As you can see the shortcut will now load astro and then Igo all in one click , and now works without problems ;)

Hi guys,

I ran into the following problem:

Till I used latest official rom, volume hard keys worked as they should, I got the horizontal volume bar when I push either of them.

BUT!! Since using other roms (eg: Shaks' 4.0, 4.1, 4.2) no matter what I do, I cannot get them to work. I hard resetted, clean installed several iGO versions without any success. Edited keybind.txt in data.zip, nothing. Then I flashed back to official, the keys started to work again.

It seems to me that iGO do not recognize the keypresses. And here comes the strange part: one of the guys from the forum who uses the same rom (Shaks' 4.20) and the same iGO8 version has properly working volume keys. He kindly sent me the files he uses and guess what: still not working on my device.

So it is not device specific, since the keys are working with official releases on my diamond. Nor rom specific since others can get it to work but not me. So what it is then? :)

I would like to ask if any of you has met the same issue and if yes, how can this be eliminated? Please help me figuring out this puzzle. Thanks in advance,

I have a diamond and i have made all steps in the 1st post.

Renamed the folder in sys file, disabled AGPS...

i open igo8 and about 5 sec later it just closes suddenly.

Any help please.

I have been hacking my brain on this HTC diamond and Igo8 issue for couple of hours, then finally decided to go with the virtually hassle-free official US Igo8 version which is Oncourse. It is just an Igo8 with a different name, just works perfectly and if you use the teleatlas map from Igo8 as well as speech POIs and other goodies from Igo8 they all work. So just my 2 cents of one easy solution to the problem. Mind you there is a little edit that you need to do wether it is Igo or Oncourse, it is edit the sys.txt "SDCARD" storage line to "Internal Storage" which is specific to the Diamond. Other than that you have a perfectly compatible fully featured (yes it is awesome, lots of navi info) System on your Diamond.
Now just a few tricks from personal experience. This thing consumes a lot of power, so make sure you have a good radio? rom (find in this forum) to save battery life and maybe get an extended battery if you are adventurous-crazy.

I am currently trying to work on a way to get the TMC fm radio traffic alert working but that damned propietary headset is the only antenna and charging the phone sowehow for long trips can be a trip (lol).

Can you get the TD to support TMC with a SW solution? And do get an adaptor so you can charge and use the headset - may I recommend a decent headset for a start :)

What kind of license issue is it? I've had that problem and ended up hard-resetting (had a lot of crap on there anyway :))

For all you:

For igo8.3.x.x , exist 4 major problems for users, which result no runing up IGO8.3.x.x

1. Wrong license (use adequate license file for your version of igo8.3.x.x like igo-march 2009, igo-april 2009 etc..

2. branding.zip data.zip, not adequate for your device, extract branding.zip on you PC, and see is there in list of device HTC diamond, and resolution of HTC diamond

3. SYS.TXT , like naming of your internal storage, for different STOCK roms, are different naming of internal storage, like swe - intern minnet, deutch - internen Speicher, etc.. i'm not sure for these phrase, cause i'm not german, french, swedish, etc.. speaker :) , and inside sys.txt wrong things like resolution, etc... for all you who have problems with SYS.txt pm me, and i'll send you mine sys.txt

4. And last one in my researching was, app which initialize using GPS, htc diamond need some apps, like AstroGpsLauncher, or quickGPS, etc... exist manny apps like these.. In my case AstroGPSLauncher worked well! It means you have some app for initializing GPS using! Manny people didn't put attention on this, but this things is very important!

I gave answer in post #552 , on the end of post with bold letters, you can find answer for using AstroGpsLauncer...

For finding ok data.zip and branding.zip, you can use manny sites, for ppc , and on them manny threads about HTC diamond + igo8.3.x.x!

Hi guys,

I ran into the following problem:

Till I used latest official rom, volume hard keys worked as they should, I got the horizontal volume bar when I push either of them.

BUT!! Since using other roms (eg: Shaks' 4.0, 4.1, 4.2) no matter what I do, I cannot get them to work. I hard resetted, clean installed several iGO versions without any success. Edited keybind.txt in data.zip, nothing. Then I flashed back to official, the keys started to work again.

It seems to me that iGO do not recognize the keypresses. And here comes the strange part: one of the guys from the forum who uses the same rom (Shaks' 4.20) and the same iGO8 version has properly working volume keys. He kindly sent me the files he uses and guess what: still not working on my device.

So it is not device specific, since the keys are working with official releases on my diamond. Nor rom specific since others can get it to work but not me. So what it is then? :)

I would like to ask if any of you has met the same issue and if yes, how can this be eliminated? Please help me figuring out this puzzle. Thanks in advance,

I searched my a$$ off online and replaced all the TTS related files to the newest I could find online, still would not work. Asked in other forums, someone suggested that it may be the DLLs for TTS in the pack are not compatible with WM 6.5, but I do not want to flashed it back to 6.1 to test before I'm certain this is indeed the cause.

It running smooth without a problem, only i couldn't test how it works with 3D buildings, i will look when i'm going someday in Amsterdam to watch how well it works, but for now i don't have to complain about it.

It works very well for me in most towns, but became too slow when driving through central london with 3D buildings turned on. It struggled to keep up and told me to make turns after I passed them. It then got completely confused and spent most of it's time recalculating the route. I switched to TT7 and it worked flawlessly.

Exactly the problem, higher khz voice file just eat up too much memory. 32khz one only loaded with a fresh re-installation of juicy rom, with 50Mb available memory; 16khz only worked partically with 44mb available memory, as long as you don't have an application which needs to load up large memory when starting. For example, I'm using a dictionary with pronunciation, if I chose a 300Mb sould file, the 16khz TTS would not work at all once I loaded the dictionary first; with 100MB sould file, the 16khz worked partially only after a soft-rest and no other software is loaded. Finally I have to choose the 11.6khz TTS which sounded a bit electronically, but worked in any case with my current loads of software. In order to avoid similar problem later on when I'm trying out new software, I chose the smaller size of sound file for my dictionary as well.

I'm using iGO v8.3.1.57021 with my Diamond (official HTC 1.93 FRE rom) and I have a bug (same bug with older versions) : when I exit the program, my system volume settings are changed to mute or high sound?!
Anybody can help me, I really like iGO8 but this bug is annoying.

I have also installed some maps of israel , but I can not see them and i can't use the program in Israel. I think I have installed all the files required, but still cannot see the israeli maps. Any idea why?

I have tried every permutation of the first article to try and install...not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I'm using HTC Diamond with a 6.5 install (Makerval's ROM).

Whenever I try and run the program (after installing), nothing happens. I tried opening the iGO8.exe manually, but it doesn't do anything, and is not listed as a running process when I check.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what the exact version is - is getting 8.3.x.x a potential solution?

I'm sorry if this problem has already been posted in this thread but i didn't read the whole 58 pages...
I have iGO 8.3.2 and I can't get it to work. I followed the installation instructions. I first tried the autorun, it didn't work so I tried the second one which gives the same problem.
iGO installs without any problems but when I try to start it I get the iGO startup screen. After that INIT APP appears and immediatly after that the program stops and the phone returns to the explorer.

I first tried it with WM 6.1, then I flashed WM 6.5 on my diamond. Both gave the same result, it didn't work.

Anyone has the same problem, or better, a solution?

I have a problem with iGO8.
I am trying to instal iGO v8.3.2.64873 FULL in a HTC diamond with official rom 2.03.401.3.

I put iGO8 folder into Internal Storage with ActiveSync.
Then i open Sys file and change this

then i make a soft reset and when htc open i am going into Internal storage/iGo8 and open the iGO8 to open the program..But i heve the following error:

Hello, recently i got a real big problem with igo8.3.2, every time i start it, it hangs at the voice that says no gps was found or something like that, it just hangs in the middle of the voice message, and then it becomes usable for another 10 seconds after 40sec, then back to freezing point...and it goes on like this even if i succeed in closing igo8, it still continues to freeze/unfreeze on the same pattern, until i soft reset. I must mention that it worked fine everytime, and it started doing that recently. A-gps is disabled. Even after updating igo to a newer 8.3.2 it still does it. Tried Googlemaps and it does the SAME THING when trying to find sattelites after selecting use gps. Please helpp! I'm a real noob driver and I always need navigation assistance!:(

LE: Got it working after trying everything except updating quickgps, after that it started working again, probably the previous update corrupted some of the settings in the gps. I never would have thought that would be the reason of this problem.

I too am having problems with finding the gps. It only display the default location for me. Is it common to only have it showing 0 "blocks" in the gps column for the signal and still get contact? I tried outside of course.. Will try taking it on a ride though and see if it gets any better and let you know :)

try with AstroGpsLauncher initiliazer for internal gps, which used manny people, and it makes better gps signal and faster catching signal... I explained somewhere on thread about igo8, maybe on this thread, search for my posts about igo8, and you'll find it, how to do that...

Hey guys. First post on this AWESOME board. I found many interesting things here, and the answers to some of my problems with my HTC Diamond as well. But i still have one major problem with my GPS. I use iGO 8. I installed it just fine, managed to open it, i search for a location, set it as destination but the GPS starts always from the same place, no matter where i am. For example, I'm in Paris but iGO tells me I'm in Bucharest, and starts from there. What can i do about this? I'm new with this phone, and if u need me to give you more details, please tell me how to acquire them.

What happens is that the program icons show up on the start menu, but when I try to start igo8, nothing happens... Uninstall icon works OK though. What am I doing wrong? (using WM6.5, ExternalROM, English)

I have a problem. I have a Skoda Octavia II (2007) with built-in bluetooth and a Diamond (ROM 2.03).
I use the iGO8, and it works fine, but the bluetooth connects and disconnects randomly in all ~5 minutes. When I shut down the iGO8 or when it runs on the background, the bluetooth works perfectly, when it runs in the foreground, the bluetooth disconnects again...
Who knows wat is this problem? Should I try a new ROM? A new radio version? A new iGO version?
CyberGene: Have you a solution for this problem? Or you use a different iGO8 or a different navi software?

You don't need that method, that's old method, now it's more simplier

you need right license file in license folder.

sys.txt from my htc diamond, you can use it, and with it use igo8.3.x.x without any problems... Just change title Internal Storage in your language, if you use diamond rom in your language....

Are there any settings I can set in sys.txt for brightness?
When I use "Backlight Always On" or "Smart Power Save" - brightness in iGo drops to about 50% maximum. It's too dim to see anything during the day. If I switch to "Use Device Settings", then it stays at full brightness, but turns off the screen after a while (as per my pda's power settings).
Btw, my device's brightness is always set to 100%.

Is there a way to increase number of history entries remembered by program on igo8 which right now is limited to only 10,
I found nice way to change the number of favorites modifying sys.txt by adding line:

where 50 can be replaced with any number up to 100,

Hi! i had simmilar problem. I installed some kind of software that used gps, dont remember, i thing it was some kind of speedo. since the software was trial version it allowed to run gps for one minute, then signal was lost. it also made same effect on iGO, Google maps and TomTom, after one minute, gps signal lost. and only restarting application helped. uninstalled speedo, now works fine. i dont know will this help, but just to share my expirience.
maybe try to chane ports. do a hard reset. update to WinMo 6.5 if not done yet. good luck ;)

Questo script permette di chiudere il FT3D per liberare parecchia memoria per poi riavviarlo automaticamente quando si esce dall' iGO8.

Ecco il mio script per disabilitare manila e liberare un po di memoria (usando Oxios Hibernate 1.40) prima di avviare iGO8.

Ricordare di:
1) Copiare il file "hibernate.exe" nella stessa directory dell'iGO8
2) Sostituire nel file "iGO8.mscr" il percorso nel quale si trova l'iGO8

To solve the problem of "Memory" dell'iGO8 in our beloved Diamond and taking cue from other places I wrote my script for "MortScript (http://www.sto-helit.de/)". This script close the FT3D to release a lot of memory and then restart it automatically when iGO8 is closed.

Here my version to shut down manila and free some memory (using Oxios Hibernate 1.40) before start iGO8.

Remember to:
1) Copy "hibernate.exe" file on iGO8 folder
2) Replace on the "iGO8.mscr" file the right location of iGO on your device

solution for:

"previous instance of igo 8 has not finished exiting yet. Please try again in a few seconds or soft-reset your device"

at least this works on ipaq 614c.

Add this text to sys.txt (in program files or on sd card, where you can find it)

and disable "manage gps automatically" in settings - system - external gps.

With this igo8 will find gps and error for previous instance wont show again.

does anyone know how to find out, which hw key sends which code to igo8? i found out, that with the stock german rom the volume keys changes the volume in igo. but when i use a custom rom the volume keys do nothing.

i have tried to change the keybinding.txt in the following way:

delte all except the default section. now my keybinding.txt shows but it still does not work. please can somebody help me?

Hi,
I had also problem with GPS on HTC Diamond in iGo app. GPS was switching on-off-on.... Thanks to SPBshell I could switch Assist-GPS to "disable". It solved the problem.
Just advice from experience.

I have a problem. I have a Skoda Octavia II (2007) with built-in bluetooth and a Diamond (ROM 2.03).
I use the iGO8, and it works fine, but the bluetooth connects and disconnects randomly in all ~5 minutes. When I shut down the iGO8 or when it runs on the background, the bluetooth works perfectly, when it runs in the foreground, the bluetooth disconnects again...
Who knows wat is this problem? Should I try a new ROM? A new radio version? A new iGO version?
CyberGene: Have you a solution for this problem? Or you use a different iGO8 or a different navi software?

On the subject I have a Bluetooth handsfree Seat León II integrated factory, I tried to start the executable, but it gives me problems, it connects and disconnects constantly as does the iGO8. After much testing the only solution I've found to use the handsfree and the iGO8 at a time, first is to let you connect the bluetooth with the car and then start the iGO8. In this way it is like to work the two functions at once.

I "installed" iGo 8.3.4 on my Diamond and i can start it without problems.

But iGo won`t find any satellite. GPS is enabled in the gps-settings.
At the top is the info: no gps-receiver found!

Can someone help me with that??

hi, i've got some problems with my gps device you propably can help me with.
i have a hyundai ub-3 with windows ce 6.0 core using igo 8. i tried to copy all the software from the sd-card to another sd-card but it wouldn't run with the copy though its exactly the same.
so when i try to run the device with the copied version the following error occurs:
"previous instance of igo 8 has not finished exiting yet. please try again in a few seconds or soft-reset your device."

hi, I have a little issue with iGO 8. when I exit iGO, it suppresses device sound settings with whatever I have chosen while using iGO (i.e. I have my device on vibrate, start iGO, select 'unmute', exit iGO, and my device sound settings will be unmuted as well).
do you think there's a workaround to avoid this? it's really annoying..

It happens when I close iGO8 and try to start it again.
First run is perfectly normal, exit also - but second run is not possible.
I get error mentioned before.

Yes, one more problem - most times it wont find my GPS receiver (built in).
On other gps sotware it works perfectly (and sometimes (rare) when iGO8 magaes to find it) with built in receiver.

then enter the application and go to settings -> GPS -> select port: Auto and Baud rate: Auto THEN click Autodetect and you might get another screen with bluetooth select.... just cancel it and finaly autodetect finds your GPS and solve both errors. For me it just set it to Port: 4 and Baud rate: 38400
