This happened to me and I returned it and they happily put another one on (but took 28 days to do so)!!!
It happened to a friend of mine too, who also sent it back. Then it happened again, so she just super glued it back on.
If it were me, and it was still in warranty, I'd send it back.

When mine came off I just placed it back on and applied presure. After a few days of not using the wheel it should stick. Mine hasn't come off since

I washed the ring and the wheel witha little soapy water and a wet cloth to get the fluff off and pushed it back on again. so far so good.
The fone is in waranty, so if it comes off again, I'll consider returning it.
Again, Thanks

I've had this problem and am on my 4th handset... O2 will replace the entire handset if you tell them to... never ask what they can do for u... just TELL them and they get it done... but it's better if you're with O2 online rather that the shops as they get a guy to deliver the new one and pick up the old one at the same time... so ur not without a phone!

yup, I'm getting my THIRD handset from O2 today becase of the ring falling off. I did try superglueing one of them back on but the glue reacted with the rubber and it turned in to a big mess! It's a good phone but this is a serious problem, it must be costing HTC a fortune to keep replaceing the handsets.

Why don't you just go to a local "home center" or a similar store, buy some glue that intended to bind rubber with metal, use it, and forget the issue ?

if I was 6 months in to my contract I'd of been more pro active about doing that but the wheel to fall off within a month, it was going back! if it continues to happen I may give that a go though. (assumeing the ring doesn't get lost)

Hi there,
Sorry to drag this up again !
I also have a XDA Orbit 2 as a second handset, bought off Ebay so no warranty with O2 online etc etc.
I need the rubber ring - quite why HTC decided to just stick it on with double sided tape stuff is beyond me!
Is there anywhere I can get a replacement rubber ring from? failing that, anyone know of a decent DIY job ? I tried getting a 'washer' from a local DIY type shop, it fits perfectly, but is about 2mm too deep - I couldn't 'shave' 2mm off either as internally it's metal.
Help anyone?!

Mine fell off and I just do without it. the 2 small holes are handy for twiddling the wheel while using the stylus

Some people said that this rubber rings can be found in ebay... but wht don't you give your phone for repair in o2 shop? if it's within 2 years from purchase won't cost you a cent/penny ;)

Hi there,
I didn't buy the phone via O2 or their shops - it was purchased from an independant seller off Ebay.
Will O2 still replace the rubber ring in this case?
Still haven't seen a listing on Ebay for a replacement ring either...
I'm looking to sell the phone so just want it replaced so it's a 'complete' handset.
Cheers, Dennis, West London UK!
