This is probably to switch the service "on" or "off" without to have shutting down the process, I guess.

This east of the applications running in background, they slow down the device.
Have you tried after a soft reset? It is faster.
Do you use the tasks manager and choose the option that allows you to close each apps by pressing the cross button ?

I have tried after a reset, because I thought running apps was the problem also. But alas. Even after a soft-reset it rotates in 2 secs. It's no big deal really, it works fine, but if I could speed up the rotation speed (if it was possible) it would be nice ;)
Maybe it's a windows mobile thing...

It would be nice if you could switch off the phone not only by laying it on its face but also by holding it upside down. So it would switch of by slipping it into your pocket.
It would be perfect by combining this with the light sensor so that it is shure, you slipped the phone into your pocket. Great if it would switch on again by holding it upright.

For me it works great, it only takes a lot of battery life.
I have the batteryfix on my Diamond and when it is turned of the batterylife stays stable.
But when the programm is turned on I lose like 5% - 8% batterylife in 1 houre
Is there any solution?
I think the programm still plays with the g-sensor when the Screen is turned off, or not?

I have the following problem:
Today Screen set to "not rotate"
File Manager set to "rotate"
From Today Screen in potrait mode I run File Manager.
File Manager loaded in portrait view.
I rotate my Diamond and File Manager is displayed in landscape view.
I then close File Manager. Resulting in the Today Screen being displayed in landscape view.
Obviously rotating the Diamond now has no effect on the Today Screen. So I have to reloaded File Manger, then re-oriantate back to portrait view and close in order to get the Today screen back to portrait.
You need to stop apps that are not the main focus orientating in the background if they have been previously disallowed.
P.S.
Could you ask yor bosses at SK Tools to consider making your "SK Today Commander" package compatible with TF3D, as I think a lot of people would find this very useful, for switching between TF3D and the old Today Screen with plugins.
Regards

This is no doubt a excellent program for Diamond! Thx!
I found this scenario. I have tried keep one window setting only and set onlyfor as enable like this:
#window(iSilo)
#onlyfor(1)
However the specific program still didn't rotate, not sure it's a bug?

just make the begining:
Were can i see the class names off the programms.
I wanted to look the class name from powerpoint and also some other programms.

If I just want to have my SMS or e-mail configure for the auto-rotation (and nothing else), what can I do?
That´s exactly what I want! I just want to enable SMS / MMS, E-mail and maybe also File Explorer, so I tried this:
#onlyfor(1)
#window(SMS / MMS)
..., etc.
It just doesn't work, somehow I'm doing something wrong. Can anyone help me with this? Also where can I find the class name? When I use the config as an exclude list ( #onlyfor(0) ) it works perfectly, but I don't want to use it for everything.

Ok, people. For some reason this is not in the readme or in this thread. But it's quiet simple. I feel a bit stupid that I only just found it. In GSen CFG there is a button called 'Edit' (in my case) in the bottomright. You can select the process name, window class and window name of the running processes right there. So I went to a SMS message then to 'window class' and all of a sudden 'Dialog' was there.
So this is what I have right now to enable GSen ONLY for SMS / MMS and E-mail (they all share the same 'window class'):
#window(Dialog)
#timer(1000)
#onlyfor(1)
#fdscreenoff(0)
[Edit] Hm, apparently Dialog is also the window class for the phone, so GSen now also works for the phone with the above settings. Which is not what I want, so I have to look further. Any help people?

I use the following for SMS and Email:
#window(SMS \ MMS)

Anyway, I just tried 'SMS \ MMS' and 'Outlook E-mail' again and it seemed to work. I've probably done something wrong before when I tried it the first time. Next to 'Outlook E-mail' I have another account and I also added this to the list, which also works, so thanks!

Hi I love this app.
Don't know if this has been asked yet but would it be possible to set Gsen to only rotate an application if the touch button is lightly held?
This way if I want to rotate an app I just hold my thumb on the touch button (the middle round one on the front) and flip the phone left or right.
This will stop unwanted rotation when carrying the phone or removing from a pocket etc.
Thanks

IT would be great to just tilt the diamond forward and have the keyboard pop up then tilt back towards you past 90 degrees (Screen almost facing down) to hide it again
Can this be done in Gsen??

hmmm,
I think you mean the exlcusion list?
Well that's not exactly what I meant....or I misunderstood the exlusion list.
I thought the exclusion list was for "exclude these programs for auto-rotate"
I meant:
Eg.
open opera always in landscape mode. (just fixed, no Autorotate)
Or
open TomTom always in landscape mode (just fixed, no Autorotate)

For tt7, I've got

There is an Edit option which you can use in GSen CFG to select the windows class/name.

Hi,
I am trying to find magic name for spb calculator with new skins.
As usual, it works fine with onlyfor(0). But I am trying to include in rotated application with onlyfor(1)
I tried tree proposed choices for the window parameter : Calculator; CALC & Calculator.exe. No one seems to work. The calculator does not rotate. The other applications such TT7, RDP, Excel, Word, ... rotate very well. I suppose that is only a name issue, but I am not able to find it.
Any idea to help me?

Hi CharlyV
Is it possible to make a icon on the Top (Please see attach file) to let user know the GSen is running or not?
And also make a option in GSen CFG that close the GSen without any dialogue box. One more things, Maybe GSen should be reset the screen to normal when it quit.
I think this will be more nice to make GSen run like a system function. What did you think? :)

Make sure you do not already have other entrys for the calculator in your configuration file.
To find the name for an application, you first launch the application, then open GSEN CFG and select the Edit option on the bottom right.
You can either select by process name, class or window name.

By me it works only for "rotable" apps. I use onlyfor(1) and it turn off the screen only if an application listed in cfg is in foreground. Of course with touch FLO in foregroud the device does not switch off.
The prb with spb calculator is not fixed with onlyfor(1) - no rtatation.

Is it possible to make, that not only some programs did not rotate, if it is specified in adjustments, but also compulsorily turned in the necessary position (portrait / landscape), is not dependent on what position was before at the previous window?
I shall explain in what a problem. In adjustments it is specified Cprog.exe and the phone really does not rotate, if it is active. BUT if the device was in sleeping position and thus the today is located as a landscape at a call the phone too will be shown in a landscape (that correctly, it does not rotate). But in such position does not work CallerID with the big photo. It is necessary that the phone has compulsorily turned in a portrait, is independent as was up to it.

Hi
Really like the app :)
Feature request would be for it to check the that the current rotation showing on screen matchs the actual of the unit every now and then.
Reason is with the phone in landscape and running tom tom , the call comes in sometimes it will answer in portrait mode (think this is related to if you looked at touch flow last time it was used)
Its a real pain having to manually rotate the screen back to land scape.
Hope you can help

Install GSen and run it.

If you answer yes - program will be unloaded.
This also possible without question with parameter #unload.

From the readme.txt:
#poweroff180(0|1) - if not present = 0, determine interpretation of rotation to 180, 0 - rotate screen, 1 - power off.
You can make the phone turn off when you rotate it so the screen is facing down.

It's 1.7. Here's my config:

I was thinking since I don't have any #windows, means theres no rotation at all. But the fdscreenoff and poweroff180 functions are exclusive, meaning they will work regardless of other settings. Correct me if Im wrong.

Do you think we can have a #screenoff180 function as well?
Using poweroff180 actually stops MP3 from playing. I'd prefer to have screenoff instead,
Right now, I'm using SkScheMa -> excellent customizer, but response is slower than Gsen, as far as G-sensor conditions are concerned.

Hi CharlyV, love this application (you should be part of the Diamond Development Division at HTC!!) ;)
Just wondering if this feature could be a possible addition:
I have the device set so that all programs rotate, with the exclusion of a few. It would be nice though if you could put the device down on a flat surface (face up, at an inclination of less than say 20 deg) and it could "remember" the orientation prior to be put down and hold itself there (hor or vert) until moved beyong 20 deg or whatever.
At the moment, when I place the unit flat down it "jiggers" from horizontal to vertical to horizontal...whatever!
Hope I make some sense......:o
Cheers

when I turn the diamond on, often the portrait s2u2 screen is rotated and I can´t unlock the device

Hi, I removed it again (from my TD) because I noticed the prog causes a black pixel in the top status black bar to turn from black to white.
The white pixel moves with orientation so it is a software issue.
Quiet annoying against a black background.
but in essence a very nice piece of programming
keep it up !

being a technical writer I just say: RTFM :-)
it´s in the first post: the pixel is a sign that gsen is active, with show(0) in the config you can turn it off

small problem, that was already mentioned previously, but i haven't found an answer to it. when using gsen (or profile switcher - same thing happens), a part of the top task bar becomes "blackened-out", or disappears, to be exact the volume control icon and sometimes half of the reception icon. however, they're still there, when you click on where they should be, you still get to the volume control etc., and afterwards the icons reappear. any ideas?
(i also posted the problem in the profile switcher thread)

OR

On my german device it worked with

Look at the window title when your keylock / password lock appears and configure gsen for this title.

Have had previous versions working a while ago.
Since then added various software and update the ROM to Duttys Diamond V1.6
Little dot is on at the top of the screen so software is working (V1.7), using all defaults, rotates in Album and Opera so Gsensor is working.
Any Suggestions

I bet you are using Dutty's ROM. It doesn't work properly and Dutty is investigating the problem for his next release.
I switched to SwiftBlade's 5.6 ROM and rotate works fine in all Windows as well as TomTom 7.

Just a suggestion... it would be good if GSEN can detect which phone rotation direction to perform screen rotation. For instance, GSEN will rotate only if I rotate my phone to the right.

Is GSEN supposed to work with the HTC Touch? I've tried everything in terms of config changes, but it will only rotate the programs screen.
Also, when I want to run it on startup it gives an error about not being able to connect to the sensor. This happens on the PIN entry screen. When I run it manually after starting the phoning I don't get the same error.
Could it be that before entering the PIN code, the Gsensor, or other parts of the hardware aren't accessible to software yet?

From another thread, replying here as it's more relevant:
I couldn't find the orientation option in TT7 so I installed GSEN and it worked a treat.
Thanks, does not work for me though. Tried different combinations .. no effect. Could you post the contents of your config here (or in the original thread, as this is a bit off topic) ?
The GSEN that I use is 1.5 (I haven't tried 1.7 because 1.5 is working fine for what I need) and I haven't changed the config at all:
#window(Manila)
#window(TEETER)
#window(opera)
#window(htcalbum)
#window(cprog.exe)
#timeout(1000)
#onlyfor(0)
#fdscreenoff(0)
Just tried with 1.7 and it works with no editing and the gsen.txt file is the same as 1.5. I did remove 1.5 before installing 1.7.

Same here -- if I execute a program from the Program screen in landscape mode, then that program will also run in landscape mode. I got the Messaging app to go landscape in this fashion. If I start Messaging directly however, it won't rotate properly.

same here. gsen seems to work for a while and then starts to behave strangely.
when i put the phone to landscape the screen rotates and then i get kicked out of the application i had running (e.g. SMS \ MMS) back to TF3D in portrait mode. the application is still running in the background.
any solutions for this?
any idea what might be causing it?

i mean id pay for a working copy im gonna buy sktools today cause it works good i would hazzerd a guess that a fair number of us telus orphans are new to smarting and would pay for quality apps that is one thing the iphone does right i think there should be a telus orphan thread then maybe we'll get some love

Chakde I was thinking the same thing, but I can't find a link to the older version. Can someone please post a link to GSen v1.5 please? Thanks!

Hey guys, some news!
I got it to work on my telus diamond. I was playing around with a lot of things but the only way I could get it to work was this: Install it, then disable TF3D in Start>settings>Personal>Today>Items>TouchFLO 3D. If you already had it running you'll find that familiar gsensor(3) error hiding underneath TF3D. Then start it or restart gsen and it will work when you go to Start>Programs. Also I noticed you can start TF3D back up once you get gsen going but it starts acting funny. So I guess it's just TF3D an GSen don't play nice together. If anyone wants to mess around with it, I'm still looking for a reason to like this program. If the only thing it can do is rotate my programs menu that I don't even use and mess up my S2U2 then I think I'm going to pass. Thanks CharlyV if you're reading, it is a really cool idea for sure. Hope you keep working on it and make it work with all screens and apps smoothly(or atleast more).
