I have a Touch pro with rom 1.90.0.0, and this doesn't work as expected.

If I load it with the default config, it works for the programs window, but if I launch file explorer for example, or any other program I've tried, it does nothing.

Gave this one a try today but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work (I have a dutch HTC Touch Pro). The program loads (I see the pixel), turning it upside down puts it in standby but it just doesn't rotate any screens.

I love the idea so hopefully more luck in the future...

after many hours without problem I found somethink when I m in sms and want to do landscape it just go to LS then to PT for a second and jump to todayscreen I dont know why and it seems that its in every window or app I open...

Who else is experiencing an error report almost each day on the device?
I found that it traces back to Gsen. Whenever I have the error on my phone, I find that Gsen doesn't work anymore.. However the indicator that it is active is still present. Toggling Gsen off and on makes it work again though.

When you rotate the diamond with the calculator runing.

it gives me one error it said:

Error cannot load the skin.

I was that the error is for the skin calculator.

Ahhh: I don´t get gsen (Ver.1.7) to run on my Touch Diamond with the 0.99.bElite GER ROM (a 1.93.00.00 version).

This is what I´ve done:
1. installed gnes ;)
2. edited the config file to the following values (of course without the dotted line):

First problem I get is with an autostart link: when I restart my phone I get an error message that gnes already runs and I´m asked if I want to close it.
So therefore I start it by myself but nothing happens. I don´t get even one program to change it´s orientation.
What does work is that the phone turns off, when I put it with the screen on the e.g. table. So the gyro sensor and the programm basically seem to work.
What I noticed is that when I start the gnes.exe file the first time, the programm menue does change its orientation. After I reboot the device even this will not work anymore :confused:.
So what am I doing wrong here?
How can I add a shortcut to the autostart folder with the gnes.exe file, without getting an error message and how can I add programs correctly to the config file?
Is there maybe another "switch" in the phone´s settings I have to change?
I´m new to the Diamond Touch but not to programming itself. I´ve also read the first 20 pages of this thread but I can´t get it to work.
I really hope some of you guys can help me with this issue because it really seems to be a great piece of software.

If I have turned on music player app I don't want to switch Diamond in standby mode because it will stop play music and turning off the screen doesn't block buttons...

there was never a Gsen update for telus. it still does not work. very sad i know!

and there is no official update for the telus diamond either. now if your referring to the roms that i have been helping develop (credit and props to Juicy47) . then yes your correct. there is a cooked rom that offers very substantial improvements over the stock rom :)

I agree that GSEN does not work on the Sprint Diamond. I'm bummed out as this is the most glaring problem that I see with the phone. It baffles me why HTC would not have auto rotate on all screens. Hopefully they will consider fixing this in a future ROM.

i have the exact same problem, say when im writting a sms, it will say unknown called, then will rotate the screen back to normal and then close the sms reader.

Yeah...it is really annoing for me also.When I use screen blocking GSen turns the screen in some cases (like new sms notification or incomming phone call) and it is hard to get it back to oryginal position.

It's absolutely understandable and I also prefer to know right window class name for process like volume changing, sms/remainders notifications. But unfortunately still didn't find. :confused:

In GSen CFG we have an option:
Edit/select window class/window name/window class
We can open apps which we would like to add excluding/including list, then open GSen CFG with opened apps in background and we can to add necessary apps to this list. But problem is here that it isn't workable for processes like volume changing and notifications. :(

if certain programs like opera rotate there has to be a way to access those libraries/dlls or what not to make the CDMA version do it too. The other auto-rotate program thread says CDMA carriers locked it down which i simply dont believe since it still does in certain programs like Opera. I think its more the commands or files are there just simply different than the GSM version is all.

Manila is excluded by default and I didn't touch that setting.

When I touch the task manager and rotate the device 90 degrees (while the running programs are listed) GSen rotates the screen although the manila is excluded.

This is a great software BTW. Keep up the good work.

I probably should search but I couldn't find anything.

Anyway, when I have the phone locked and receive a call, I find that the call screen is upside down (probably due to the way I keep the phone in my pocket). It then does not respond to my touches to answer the call. Answering the call seems to work perfectly fine when its rotated the correct way.

For the moment I've just stopped locking the handset and hopefully it fixes the issue.

Using Gsen 1.7 with the official WWE ME 1.93 rom.

Has any of you programmers considered disabling landscape mode when sliding out the keyboard? Maybe that is the problem, we (TP users) don't need that if the programs will work by disabling that.

ditto that and it wasnt always that way i took all of the blocks out of the config so it shoudl rotate any screen and now it rotates the msg screen (before i go into a msg) and then after a few seconds it rotates back without me moving the phone

My problem is when I'm in other programs like text or tomtom. When I rotate the screen it goes landscape but then 2 seconds later the phone will flicker with an unknown caller then its gets stuck at the phone screen with the keypad and know one is calling!! If i "X" that screen it goes back to the program in normal view?

Hello ppl, I have a HTC Diamond. Everything works fine, except TF3D. Anytime I rotate TouchFlo3D (the main screen with the clock) ... it rotates for a moment, then goes back to initial state. Anyone having this problem ?

I forgot to mention that if I disable TF3D, the main screen rotates perfectly. So it must be something with Tf3d

Thanks for the link Jeff. Gyrator works great on the Sprint Diamond. The only thing I noticed so far is the phone app looks a little wierd in landscape, so I changed it not to rotate. As far as the TF3D, I wouldn't want to rotate it anyway, so no issue there.

I am using Gsen 1.7 now. It does rotate as what I expected. The only problem is that it could not work when I try to run it on startup. I have to run it after my diamond boot up. If I run it on startup, i have to unload it and rerun gsen again in order to rotate. Does anyone see the same issue?

no it works great here on startup.
only problem is the rotating when i make a movie or a picture.
then i have to shut gsen down. or else i have a double rotating.
is there a way to make gsen sleep when camera mode is active???

Hoping someone can help me please.

I installed gsen 1.7 a couple of days ago and it worked ok and then decided to stop. I reninstalled it and it worked again. Then last night in middle of using it, it rotated and then it gave up and refused to rotate any further.

(I have a Touch Diamond and have also changed the registry to enable manual screen rotation.)

What a great program.

I have just installed the latest rom 1.96.710.3 (Optus) and now I have a problem.

GSen works fine until I open Opera. As soon as I open Opera the GSen stops working.

If the screen is already in landscape mode, when I open Opera it zaps to portrait mode and even when the Opera program is then closed, GSen won't work.

As per a previous post, I have opened:
Start/Programs/GSen CFG

And have check the following settings are correct:
#timeout(1000)
#onlyfor(0)

Any ideas please?

I want to say thank you first of all. This is an excellent idea, but I have discovered something today that has really got me wondering.

I have tried the latest GSen and Gyrator2 and they both work properly, although rather slowly and make the entire phone feel sluggish. I presumed this was overhead from polling the sensor for information and disabled the app from autostarting and use only when I am in the mood for it. Today I came accross KinomaFreePlayer and installed it. It is a nice media player but has issues with Advantage and screen orientation and AVRCP does not work for me either, but I digress. the important thing I discovered was it uses the sensor to rotate the display, exactly like the I-Phone does. It works correctly and lightening fast and does not slow the phone down in anyway. So, it got me to wondering if anyone here could look at it and see what makes it work so much "smoother" than GSen.

I do not want ot sound like I am knocking GSen or that I am ungrateful becuase I am not. It is just that for me, and others from what I read, it is not quite "there" yet.

Hello ppl, I have a HTC Diamond. Everything works fine, except TF3D. Anytime I rotate TouchFlo3D (the main screen with the clock) ... it rotates for a moment, then goes back to initial state. Anyone having this problem ?

After reading the whooole thread, I found no solution to this problem that others users also have.

To me it happens with TOM TOM, after 2 seconds, it goes back to "Today Screen" in portrait mode.

rotation 180 degrees of device and instant OFF is VERY good! Every time I put it in my pocket it works! Nice!

Can you add more variable/feature?

For example:

#activesyncRotate(0|1) - for user to have ability to disable screen rotation when connected to PC,
#extPowerRotate(0|1) - to same as above on extPower connected (for example to disable fdscreenoff and poweroff180)

and some functionality to track when device are layed face UP on table - sometimes it has "noise" and rotates screen in landscape.

Can "device lock" occur too in rotate180/fdscreenoff with some more variables?
And can device lock occur when device shaken left-right or up-down and so on?

GSen doesn't work on my TouchPro. After adding GSen in start-up and restarting the phone, it gives error "Cannot connect to GSensor (3)" on start-up. Even if I trying loading it manually, it is active (dot appears on the bar) but still doesn't work.
I am using 1.90.405.1 WWE ROM....is that the problem? If yes, what is the way out?

Hi Terry, I don't think people will laugh at you on here as we have all been there too.
You really need to know a few basic facts about PCs and Smartphone devices to install and uninstall apps. In this case unzip the folder on your PC, open the folder and you will find a blue box object and this is called a CAB file. With your Device connected via Activesync open Explore and drag and drop the CAB file into My Documents. On your device go to File Explorer and find the file GSen and click on it, it will then ask you if you want to copy it to Device or Internal Storage. Select either and it will self-install.
Go to Programs/All Programs on your device and you will find 3 GSens in the list, click on the top one and you are there. The second one is to Configure and the third is to toggle the App on/off. You will know if it is activated as a small white dot will appear in the centre/top of your Homescreen . Best of luck:)

Hm, i got my Diamond yesterday and installed the Gsen. First it worked great, but now it doesn'T work anymore. No idea why.

I can see the little white pixel but if I rotate the device nothing happens. Funny thing is, if I open the program via windows start - programms - gsen toggle it works! As soon as I close the windows application, the little white pixel is still there, but the program wont work.

Any idea? Realy freaks me, since it worked first. I only installed the second today screen after wards, but also deinstalled that screen again, but still no change. It only works under windows start.:confused:

One query I saw mentioned earlier with no reply however is that I have lost the Lock/unlock function when pressing/holding end call button. Any suggestions to correct this? I dont have the infamous white pixel on the menu bar either?

Sorry, as much as I love the S-K Software, this little tool is way too slow.
It made me wanna throw my device against the wall, that much I was annoyed by the slowness.

Edit: I must admit I judged too early. With the parameters TimeOut() and OnlyFor() I can tune it right. Sorry!

Apologies for not understanding this but how does editting TimeOut speed up this software. On my Ignito it takes approx 2 seconds to re-act. Other than that - brilliant app.

need to restart program after answer on incoming calls.

At Programs menu, I launch GSEN and I can rotate. But if I go to main screen stops rotating. Then I go again to Programs menu and start rotate again.:confused:

My understanding is that you need to add the line #onlyfor(1) which enables just the programmes in your configuration settings and nothing else OR #onlyfor(0) which enables all screens except those identified in you configuration. Don't forget to press save after entering the line #onlyfor(*).

You won't have a problem - it's pretty straight forward, just follow the steps above.

THKBy disabling the exclude manila rule in the events (hold down the pen and remove the tick in front of orientation (should read 0), but there is a reason for this is disabled.

I'll advise you to read the short user guide on the Gyrator site to make the max of it:)

I tried gyrator, this program does rotate the screen, but doesn’t run nicely on the background as gsen does.

GSen do not work on my Diamon with ROM 2.03.

Hi,

I put the latest HTC rom 2.03.406.2 and i would like to use Gsen for the SMS, MMS and email screen but it doesn't work whereas it worked with the previous rom.
Indeed, when i use Gsen, there is just the programs' screen which change.

So, are there incompatibility with the new rom or do i somethings wrong ?

Im most likely posting this in the wrong place but if any of you guys could help me get allt hsi sorted with a blow by blow account for an idiot of how to do so. Please help! :)

AlecIf you mean what is included it only works with a few apps, such as Opera. If you want it to work with all apps you need to download a particular program such as Gyrator or Gsen (the former works wih more apps).

As mentioned this is by default only working in few apps like Opera, teeter, Youtube and Camera and perhaps one or two I have forgotten. So install Gyrator if you want it in if not all then most apps :)

Are you on Gyrator? You can always paste a shortcut into the windows\start folder. From the Gyrator start-up you can choose to hide window when application starts. Finaly you can remove it from the task list under task list in settings by marking it as exclusive. I am not quite getting the questions about pixels you couldn't see.

Received my new tmobile mda vario IV aka HTC Touch Pro today, and the first app i installed was GSEN.
Doesnt appear to work, and looking on here it's prob a rom compatibility issue.
Disappointed that i cant even rotate the screen from Settings screen as i used to do with my old mda vario (II).
any ideas on if and when this can be fixed re gsen?

I am trying to configure Gsen to rotate with sms/mms. Right now it is only rotating in the programs screen. I was using Gyrator but couldn't get it configured NOT to rotate when using the phone. Plus there were times my phone wouldn't even ring and it would auto answer when I picked it up.

I am looking for something that will only rotate in sms/mms & email. Does anyone have a config file that will do that? I would really appreciate any help.

but after a few hours, when i rotate, the phone dialer pops up when i rotate in any direction.. its really annoying..

And probably this projects is discontinued by SK :eek:

Does anyone know how to auto rotate everything? I cant rotate the main screen or when text messaging. It is kind of annoying. I read the first couple of threads, but it is kind of dissapointing that the first author or post is not updated for any tutorials, instructions, ect...

By default it rotates all screens except the ones thats start with #window.

On my Touch HD, v1.8 works perfectly, and rotates my SMS, Outlook, etc screens all to Landscape (and back ;-).

Read readme.txt included with the app for a short explanation of the options. It's quite minimal. Oh, and dont forget to manually put Gsen in your Windows Startup folder, else you will have to manually start it everytime your WinMo device is rebooted.

I've gone down the whitelist route as I was having too much bother with screen orientation and losing the top line menu bar on the home screen after incoming phone calls.

The whitelist seems to work well for all the apps I want to use except for the web browser Skyfire (http://www.skyfire.com/) (a beautiful web browser as it allows me to use the BBC iplayer!) which is odd as GSen worked with Skyfire when I was using a blacklist approach.

I've tried #window(Skyfire) and #window(Skyfire.exe) using the pop up function of the edit command in GSen CFG and have even tried both together with no luck.

Anyone any ideas?

Go into GSEN Config, Click bottom left "File" button and then "Startup". Sorted.

Try clicking GSEN, if it's running it will ask if you want to unload program. Click Yes and then click Gsen again and it should be working.

you do not need the above mentioned if you use touch flo.
I switched to spb ms thus no manilla is running. pictures and video
application requires portrait orientation as well. thus i suggest to
extend the default exception list by
"HTCYOUTUBE"
"pimg.exe" <= it kept rotating when I used the class name

For the life of me I can't get this to work as expected. I downloaded the cab, copied it over to my Touch Diamond (Cellular South), installed it, ran it (and added a shortcut to start up) and while File Explorer will and Opera rotate, nothing else will.

What am I doing wrong here? I need landscape for email and Word in the worst way.

Doesn't "turn off screen" when turning device upside down though (ie 180 deg vertical). Very useful when slipping the device into your pocket.

A teensy little feature request that should be pretty easy to implement...

How about adding Screen Toggle to the command list, a la #fdscreentoggle(0|1), in the same vein as #fdscreenoff(0|1|2)... hmm?

Screen Toggle is pretty useful, I find it better than Screen Off, because I can then just repeat the facedown orientation to turn the screen on and off (saves a little wear and tear on the power button).

Whaddya think?
