Sprint touch sms - email problems

First of all: I have not changed roms or anything of the sort, I have made a few modifications with 3rd party software but that was months ago (nothing has been changed or downloaded recently)

When I click on the SMS or email button on my today screen nothing happens! when I click on my call history that button works!? even when I go into my touch cube and try to access SMS or email it does not work there either. What could the problem be? on another note and this is really wierd! my friends sprint touch did the same thing the day before (his phone is 100% stock) how could both phones do the same thing within a 2 day period, what are the odds million to 1 maybe. Figured it out, I had to remove a folder from my storage card named: Inbox.mst29929967.984640768 once I removed that everything worked fine!

I tried to fix my friends touch also but it looks like he has a long laundry list of problems, so he decided to bring it to the sprint store and have it fixed or replaced (keep in mind his phone is 100% factory) so they said they could not figure out what is wrong with it and they also refused to replace it saying that he has 3rd party stuff on his phone, by 3rd party they mean he had a wallpaper on it lol so they fought with him about replacing the phone for over 2 hours but finally they broke and will be replacing it. I find it funny that he pays for the insurance every month and they hassle him with that!
