I was searching through forum but didn't find what i was looking for.
Is it possible to connect USB Stick (powered over pda) / ext. disk (self powered) to mini usb port on PDA and use it as an external storage?
I think i saw some software in PDAViets rom for 4700.

i use an ameo / u1000 and it has no problems hosting a usb stick. what happens is i stick in the 4 in 1 plug to the ameo. the usb is then plugged in to the jack. the ameo reads the usb stick as "hard disk"
cheers

As always, Google is your friend.
This is what it spat out: http://ashorterlink.com/2770
And here is a video by some bored person, demonstrating that it works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm8q78CMqw8

Thanks for that but i was more looking for software driver/program which allows you to use usb disk.
214 has already small usb port and i'd like to connect it directly in it - don't know why use another plugin between.
i hope you know what i wanted to say.
thanks again for efforts!

Ones again a simple Google search revealed an Archos USB-host cable for the mini usb port (http://ashorterlink.com/2797).
Remember that no one said that the mini USB port on the iPaq is usb-host capable, infact a forum mod here (http://www.pocketpcmag.com/cms/forum/topic/30525) claims that the mini-usb port is NOT host capable and no there is no addon driver that I am aware of.
In fact I am fairly sure that it is a hardware feature, otherwise someone would have written such a software for my Tytn/Hermes eons ago.
Hope this helps.
