help upgrading my dopod 900

hello,
please someone help me.
I just bought dopod 900 aka universal.
but i'm unable to update ROM.
i try helmi, ranju etc, but it kept saying that the rom was'nt design for my device.

i'm currently using 1.30.111 WWE

is there something i should do before upgrading my rom.

thanks for your reply,
but i think it's my usb port.
windows always recognize my dopod 900 as malfunction usb device :(

is it possible to repair the usb port?
