I descarted GXMark because after serveral tests it gave me the same mark for every SPL version.

Well i did a benchmark using GAPI Benchmark on a cooked lite rom and tested 3 times on every SPL version.

If you open it with a hex editor you'll see the version even though it's a patched SPL.

Grab the attached zip, extract it on your pc, connect your Elfin to the pc and either type in cmd:

If it doesn't we need someone to help with the correct address!

i have not tested by flashing a cooked ROM yet, but i do see "g_cKeyCardSecurityLevel = 0" in mtty. other things seems to be working fine, like wi-fi, bluetooth etc. if u notice some issue, do report back :)

You've done the great job. Now I am using PDAVIET V42 ROM and I do feel the speed improvement a lot before and after applying your patch. Not try to really falsh to other ROMs at this moment, but will report any problem if found then. Thanks for your efforts.

as long as u dont flash a shipped ROM containing the original SPL, this SPL 2.26.0000 is not required to be flashed again. and its already CID unlocked. but use it at ur own risk :D

Just a quick post to say that I upgraded to the new SPL 2.26 and it is working fine on my Elfin ... not sure what the improvement is but I already flashed a cooked rom on top and so far so good.

In my view, if we can refresh normal SPL 2.26 to the current rom normal use, use this basis to refresh other SPL ROM should be no problem!

After flashing the (unpatched) 2.26 SPL I noticed a file under the My Devices folder in my Elfin, called HaRET.exe. If I click on it, it starts the temporary SPL program - the Linux Penguin followed by the white screen! I haven't tried flashing anything after running this though. Anyone else notice this?

Hi guys,

There is something weired happening.I had the shadow rom when I flashed the new SPL and then I changed the same Shadow to pagepool 18MB and reflahsed and it worked.
I wanted to move to a PDAViet rom and it was giving me the error "invalid device ID" but I tried to flash Shadow a third time "unchanged PP" and it worked ... any thoughts about this?

Yeah i've done all that. Flashing from my original 2.21 to 2.26 took a couple of tries. So I guess I'll continue trying to get to the patched 2.26.

Yes mate you can build a new rom with the SPL of your preference.

After you build your ROM just change de RUU_signed.nbh file at the RUU subdir of one the package that i build. and then run the elf-uspl.exe file at the root dir of the picked package as the USPL process.

Yes you can flash any ROM after you flash an ORIGINAL VERSION of the SPL... as i explained to dsixda but a liitle bit different.

Ok, if you flash an original SPL, that minds that your device is cid locked again, well, if you want to flash a new rom, take one the spl package at the 1st post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2357652&postcount=1) at the RUU folder replace the RUU_signed.nbh file with the one of your choosed ROM, after this ... just run the elf-uspl.exe file as want to do a USPL process. DOne!

It just flashes the SPL portion, it doesn't wipe out the actual ROM/data itself.

for me, the benchmark that really matters the most is 'mem/cpu' score. but again, these benchmarks dont always justify. i'll better follow my own instincts ;)

its a normal condition, run the upgrade as the complete USPL process.

I think the benchmark result is quite accurate but my instinct tell me to use the hacked 2.26 USPL.
Tested with CorePlayer benchmark, the movie framerate is better than hacked 2.22 USPL. :D

Well at the end of this test, i just have to say that real test its when you make your own tests on your own device and picked rom.

They are not the same!

By doing so, we will be able to have in our hands the dumped 2.28.0000 SPL (some members have it) and then maybe someone (htctouchp;)) could patch it.
Why?
To gain performance(boot-time and 'mem/cpu' score)!:D

that should not be spl's issue. cid unlocking means u can flash any cooked ROM.

SPL is definitely a critical component. if u mess with it without knowing what u r doing, u could be in a lot of trouble ;)

I was getting the invalid model ID when I had the patched 2.26 and wanted to go to 2.20 patched. Try flashing it the long way (with the white screen) rather than the USPL's quick way.

hacked SPL is the USPL one. if u have the hacked 2.26.0000, that means u've the USPL 2.26.0000. so u can go on and flash a cooked ROM ;)

Just like I thought, the SPL 2.28.0000 has serious trouble with hacked USPL. I search all the post here and a bunch of brick Elfin is caused by SPL 2.28.0000. Maybe HTC messed with their code to prevent hacking. :(

its obvious that u could flash new 2.26 patched on old 2.26 patched coz that was also CID unlocked, and u just had to run romupdateutility from RUU folder. but i dont understand why so many problems with this ROM when other ROMs flashed without any problems. i've flashed my phone about 50 times with different ROMs using old patched version of 2.26.

PS: anybody else having problem with this pdaviet ROM and old patched spl 2.26,flash the new patched spl 2.26 and let me know if this solved the problem. once confirmed, we can ask CyZeeK to update the 1st post.

To ensure these IPL & SPL 2.26 are working properly for my ELF, I re-flashed AB UCE 9.02 ROM... and YES...it works perfectly. (Without taking out the memory card and sim card... I am a happy ELF owner)

Well, not at all. if you do the USPL process. you can install almost any rom Shipped, Dumped or cooked roms, buuut... the DEVICE ID and CID ID of your device has no changes.

i have not tried this IPL as yet. because i feel an SPL is more likely to improve the performance of our Elfin than an IPL, so i'm just waiting for the newer SPL.

As far as I can tell, it is a real IPL, but the version may easily be changed!
{I know because, I flashed IPL&patchedSPL2.26 but I changed the version to show 2.20 which were my default;)}

I am sorry, I see that the standard of English! Apologize to you, I mean, you can brush the IPL 2.81.0002 ELFIN equipment directly from the extraction, you download it to the NB document, you have to refresh it will be packaged into NBH Documents. SPL said earlier, because it is new to the purchase of a brush DJvw gave the SPL 2.20 patched a great pity. I asked him to contact his return to the purchase of stores, to re-set. First I tried the ELF_USPL_1.17.0000 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=408637

Then I flashed IPL 2.26 from the same thread post #27. Then I changed my SPL with SPL 2.26 post #119 at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=404491

To ensure these IPL & SPL 2.26 are working properly for my ELF, I re-flashed AB UCE 9.02 ROM... and YES...it works perfectly. (Without taking out the memory card and sim card... I am a happy ELF owner)

I noticed a surprising decrease in boot time:D

the thing that proved to me that these versions will not brick my device is the fact that before flashing these spl and ipl,
I flashed the latest official ROM from HTC HTC_Touch_WWE_ME_2.20.456.1B
which updated my IPL and SPL versions to 2.**

yes. extract the RUU_Signed.nbh using nbhextract.exe and then hex edit the 01_SPL.nb, search for ASCII "bootload". that way u can find out the SPL version. similary 00_unknown.nb is IPL and u can find its version as well :)

im a silent reader on this forum so my experience helped me.
so this is an official ELF rom containing these spl and ipl versions.. can we say confirm that the patched 2.26.0000 spl is safe for ELF users?

That is something for our experts to say but for me, with this patched 2.26.0000 for my ELF combined with AB UCE ROM 9.02 (1st edition), I am quite satisfied with the performance of my ELF... seems like will stick to this combination for awhile before flashing again.

I have just followed the steps you posted before to flash my ELF from USPL 1.17 and then USPL 2.26 but I found that the IPL is still 1.11 something like that. I have read the previous threads but I found that I cannot convert the downloaded 2.26.002_IPL.nb via htcrt.exe.

Every time I double click it, an error message appeared "the htcrt.info" is corrupted. I have repeated downloading it twice and the same error message appeared.

Can anyone here post the converted 2.26.002_IPL.nbh file here?

can u try this new patched 2.26.0000 SPL pls and test the ROM again? just replace the old RUU_Signed.nbh with this one and give it a try.

PS: if u r already using the patched 2.20.0000 spl, then u dont need to run the elf-uspl.exe, just open the RUU folder and run the romupdateutility.exe fom there.

I have HTC Touch P3452 - Enhanced Version (HTC Elfin 100) (256/128MB)
(I was little bit confused as the Touch showed up with P3450 with clean ROM)


I tryed the Version before and faild at missing white Screen on the Touch.

I made clean ROM with canceling customising.
Installed Cert_SPCS.cab and EnableRapi.cab
reboot!
ELFIN_USPL_2.26.0000

Now its CID free. Thanks

You are posting in the wrong thread. But anyways --

1) If you still have the USPL installed, then you are ok and can still flash a new ROM (go into Booloader to check the version number --- Hold down camera button and then reset). You will need to flash from the Bootloader.

2) If you have a shipped ROM for your device, then that can save you as well. Go to CyZeek's shipped ROM thread and look for it.

3) Your final hope would be to PM someone named Olipro who charges 75 British pounds to recover your Elf.

check the current CID/DID status of your phone. if it CID unlocked, try flashing some other USPL. although i dont think USPL 2.28 is responsible for your situation.
