Playing with xip part , there are many locks and wifi - bt problems ...

Hi, and thanks for the great work!

I think a light rom, shouldn't have:
-Cube
-Touch Keyboard
-Voice commander
-HTC Home

To say the least. Since touch scrolling can be disabled it can stay in. QuickGPS is a Hardware helper so I don't mind it being cooked in, and Video Telephony should be included because it's hardware related of course. Users then can add what they want through CABs. I've been waiting a while for a recent/new build that is "Light".

Update: I can't use this ROM, PIM Backup couldn't restore my sms messages for some reason. Also on first boot the icon of the start menu at the top left doesn't show until u tap it.

3G and G icons worked perfectly for me as well as WiFi icon... I don't have contacts in the SIM so it was allright...

Rar is ok however when I unrar it in the folder which together with the file name total more than 260 characters rar wouldnot be able to unrar. I remedy it by placing the file to be unrar at the root of my c drive..Just for the info of others that may encounter the same problem

I don't even think about this combination. Next time i'll reduce filename & directory characters.

I dont know how is certificate on this site... I instaled on my device company root security certificate and our mailserver´s certificate... And all is working OK without problems like in udK or Bepes ROM...

always trying your roms, found some 'issues' with your 0.3 roms

1. can't exit from call history with red button. upper bar disappearing but app still stays on the screen and you can press its buttons with feedback. this happens also in your previous roms based on 19xxx builds.

2. 3g/gprs/edge/hsdpa icons on the status bar are really small, without any box, just small character (e or g).

3. when using search bar in contacts it highlight few contacts at once, not the first one from selected character.

4. battery indicator still doesn't working correctly science your 19xxx builds.

thanks, it will be great. also one really big suggestion...
afaik, the problem with calls list come from dialer, because it's a part of dialer app.
i see that your 'standard' dialer used in your roms originally is from touch dual.
so my suggestion (and hope not only mine) is to replace this dialer in future releases to kaiser 3g dialer with larger numeric buttons and much easier to use.
yes, you can say something like 'you can do it by yourself' and be right, but here is some problems replacing dialer in your roms.
i spent 2 hours to do this with zero result. no any external dialers works, except minimal dialer (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395086) which is without smartdialing...

ps. another small bug - wm system sounds not working as it must, just only one 'click' on starting app or closing menu.

Video drivers are updated. 3D support added.

Large Title Bar, Large Menus, AudioManager,Cyberon VSD, some games, some utilities, Connection Setup, some bugs....

and with all these games and utilites the Rom is Light? :confused:

A light ROM should contain all the latest drivers and versions, as well as Microsoft stuff such as Office Mobile. It should also cover all basic functionality of the built devices such as video calls, camera, FM radio, bluetooth, GPS and maybe some other basic HTC applications such as the Network wizard,... .

But no additional games, no Opera, no custom skins, no quirky taskmanagers, no obscure buggy GUIs such as manilla or the Cube, no Java, no google stuff, not tools ... as these things can be installed individually because versions change constantly. Toys as these are filling up memory and make the unit slow.

The ROM that comes closest to that (in my opinion the most stable Polaris ROM ever) until now is the Polaris_WWE_0.67_Basic_bepe, however although it is WM6.1 the release is becoming old already and does not feature the latest drivers and builds.

swtos is great and is a good deal as well. But there is still unnecessary stuff included in it such as additional games, custom skins, config tools, toys.

Anyhow thanks for sharing your roms swtos :) It seems to be lots of work.

if add 1MB useful files , there is no any diffients if they not start run...
programs not running = no waste system performance

I agree with Andre117 ... later versions of ROM-installed programs cannot be installed over the top, very annoying.

Having said that, I'm using an swtos ROM 20273 v9 because it is the closest I have found to a "clean" WM6.1 ROM and is very stable. So thanks to swtos.

I know , but we have SD Card....
I often put files into SD_Card not Internal Flash ,
because when I flash new ROM , files from Internal Flash will gone....
If I not backup them , they gone....
so my TOMTOM , Garmin , Google Maps , Pictures , MP3 , CABs , My Favorite backup are all at SD_Card

Internal Flash add 1~2MB , will not let we install Manilla2D and Omnia at same time , and I don't think anybody will do this.
but some people don't know where to find all CABs , and they always ask you why not put it inside.

So, I will install small useful files inside rom , others I made SD_AutoRun and let people choose themselfs. (these chooseable files are Cube , Home , Browser, Ringtone ,etc)
but if I deleted AudioManager(1.07MB) , Album(4.39MB) , MMS(4.61MB) , Java(2.41MB) , FM(500kb) , CAMERA(1.27MB)....someone will ask me soon....but they are truely Storage killer

If this is test version , I will placed all functions to find out hidden risks.
if not placed , there will no feedback ...
normal released lite version maybe work , but full version may have bugs.
I don't like people use not stable ROM..:)

when i recived SMS from my girlfriend (Nokia E65) and i click on it, its stuck on "Loading message..." and i only see blank (white) place., so i click on Menu (down, right) and Close and its telling me:

Error
The Message cannot be signed and/or encrypted.

Shoudl i disable something or am i doing soemthing wrong. It newer happend with your roms.

btw. In Inbox where you see all SMS, the text of SMS is showed normally :)

Make a hard reset before rom installation, Wait 5-10 secs before 1st tap..., make a hard reset after rom installation.

Can you explain what is the right procedure of flashing your roms ?

Eg:HR, wait until it starts up, cancel customization, enter bootloader, flash, HR befor it boots ? HR before customization ?

And also can you tell me what are the benefits of following the procedure ?

Please don't cancel customization ...

1. Make a hard reset.
2. install new rom. Wait 10 secs before 1st tap.
3. Let customization to finish and Reboot.
4. Make hard reset.

Now you have a Full functional rom, with all parameters corrected
(page pool, Xip, memory, mms, etc... )

Follow these procedures for any new rom (not only swtos roms) .
Especially, if you like to benchmark a rom, always follow these procedures.

Up and running a few hours now, all bugs I had with .95 seems gone.

sms seems to work ok now
media streaming seems to work again
Hotmail sync seems to work again

The new opera build 1957 plus flash 3.1 seem to perform well on your ROM.

Will you be keeping the radio in the flash? Are you tweaking that? or will you eventually remove it?

If you want camera working on new builds with new ddi.dll you have to flash new radio. The radio in swtos rom is ok. However if you flash back to older roms (such as udK R7) you have to flash back to older radio.

I have a parrot MK6000 and with this rom, the hand free and also music is working.
The only "problem" of this rom is it's too light: I have to add to it: opera, X button, End Key, Office, Manilla2D, ....
but after this completion, it's a very good rom.
No bug found.

not true. currently im running r8, which is the ssme os ver as swtos .96 and udk r0, with radio 1.64.08.21, and it seems to be working fine. autofocus even works.

all im asking is to create different installs for os & radio. then i can pick and choose what works best for me :)

Well, if you likes rom without radio rom, try with nbhextract. Then, makes a new .nbh file with 00_Mainsplash.nb and 02_Os.nb.....
It's easy, and you don't need have to ask someone else. ;)

Ps. For a explain about comands on nbhextract, see the fix post "Polaris Kitchen v1.3", second post.

I decided to move from udk's to swto's ROM.
I hesitated a little because udk's ROM (despite all the bugs) was the best thing to date.
But actually swto's ROM is better!
It's definitely faster.
QuickGPS works.
Camera focus works.
The signal is stronger.
I finally got rid of Opera 9 and installed Opera 8.65.
There is no TouchFLO 2D but I don't mind having an extra 4 megs of memory for other apps.

I have to test some more until I can say that I've finnaly found the ROM of my life :)

First of all, i like your clean roms because they allow you to install only the apps that you need.
Second: i have a small problem, and i was wondering if anyone has it also:
After a period of time, while the device is in standby, when i press the power button, the screen opens for a fracion of second, and the closes. If i press power button one more time, the the device wakes without any problem.

I't not a big deal, but i though you might want to know.

Yes, I've experienced this too. Also when I recieve email I have the notification on vibrate, on wake, sometimes it just continues vibrating till I respond by dismissing it.

For the rest ROM is working well. I like the fact its light (no 2d Manila, opera etc), I want to add what I want. In fact I think more could be removed still.

That is strange as mine was reversed, coreplayer streams great from my orb server using DD. On Udk's I had to use raw framebuffer and it was choppy. Did you hardreset after your flash?

The other files are to use with a USB/activesync flash. The ROM and Radio are in the .nbh so its the only file you need to flash from SD. You should probably post in that thread if you need help as we are hijacking Swtos's thread :) or send me a pm and I will help you some more that way, but once you do it you'll realize how easy it is.

My camera is not functioning properly after I flashed to v0.96.

After I depressed the camera button, it goes to a black screen. No camera view however still can take pictures.

I had hard and soft reset my TC after ROM installation.

Try to reinstall this mod with Hard-SPL first. I don't know why, but i had the same problem with an other mod. Only a complete reinstall should help i think.
