I have received today my new Diamond, to replace previous HTC P3600.
My first problem os that I am a former Palm user (since 1996!), and like to use graffiti as input. In my P3600 I have installed a small apllication (myprogram) that emulates graffiti. I have tried on the Diamond, block recognizer appears on the input check list but when I select it it does not start and regular keyboard stays instead.
Do you know if there is available somewhere an updated block recognizer for the Diamond?

Shame on me, the Diamond has block recognizer as a standard feature and did stop working because I have installed the program that was supposed to add this feature.
Now I just need to find a way to use IGO 2006 on the Diamond to be a very happy person...

Found it. My problem was that apparently nothing was happening when running setup, but indeed the program was instaled. The program runs really fast and browsing maps is a delight, much faster than my previous P3600. I guess that this is the result of using internal memory instead of a external card! Maybe has some limitations but indeed can be quite effective to run programs, maps, music and so on!:)

you have igo 2006 running on diamond or igo 2008? my igo 2006 couldn't run with diamond.
btw i use block recognizer too as my main input system, its the fastest imho. no need to hunt and peck on a tiny keyboard :)

True! I use graffiti for 10 years and its hard to understand why people like physical keyboards :D!
Regarding IGO I am running 2006 with no problems, indeed much faster than on previous HTC P3600. Haven´t tryed yet IGO2008.

Yes, it is pre-installed on the phone. I am using ROM Elite 2.0 and I can not confirm if block recognizer was already on the original ROM.

You need 3 steps to make Block Recognizer running on the CHT ROM.
1st, skip the operator customization process during a hard-reset.
2nd, extract msim.dll & msim.192.dll from a WWE rom and paste them into \Windows
3rd, export HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{42429691-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9} section from a WWE rom and import to Diamond
If somebody is willing to make a cab for this, it would be appreciated.
I decided not to keep the new T9 keypads but the original keyboard + Block Recognizer instead. This makes everything easier :)
Cheers!

Block recognizer has it own writing system. Only one letter is written and recognized at one go. From the Block Recognizer sip , press on the '?' button and you will see how the letters are formed. Most letters use only one penstroke without lifting but there are exceptions.
Here i've dug up a reference image for grafitti which is the same system as block recognizer. you can print it out for quick reference. I used to carry it around with me when i was using the palm.
Note: in the image, the dot is the starting pointing of the letter to be written

I am a former Palm user, so I prefer Block Recognizer to keyboards. Unfortunately I can’t find Block Recognizer on my new TD.
I have asked HTC where it is, and the reply I got was:
“As per your query about the block recogniser and other options of keyboard, these options are not included on Danish devices.”
Is it possible some how to install it on a Danish TD? – We have some extra letters in our alphabet: “æ – ø - å”
