Dear forum members,


Update, July 29, 2008.

The Project is suspended for a while due do beta testing reports and further identification of non functional parts.

************************************************** **********************************


This is a revised TyTN Hermes ROM with fixes in identified parts but still provided for beta test and feed back purposes.


You can download the ROM image with no radio, including flashing utility here:

The RUU_Hermes_Flashing_Utility is included, double click on ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the instructions.[/color]


The Rom is named Windows Mobile 6 18128 Virtual Vista V2.0 Lite Beta and user instructions follow:

Unzip the downloaded file RUU_Signed_Hermes_WWE_18128_NoRadio_MobileVirtualV ista_2_0_Lite_beta_by_ansar.zip and

in the created directory you will have the following:

1. The RUU_Hermes_Flashing_Utility directory with:

- The RUU_signed.nbh rom image and the flashing utility files.

2. The VistaLLib directory with:

- CabsToProgramFiles dir with:

- AudioManagerTodayPlugin.cab file

- CabsToWindows dir with:

- AudioManager.cab file

- HTCHome.cab file and

- S2U2.cab file

- SDLFileOperation.xml file

- SDLLinkRemove.xml file and

- SDLRegistry.xml file

3. This Readme.txt file and

4. TThe control SDLConfig.txt file.

Please note the L letter in VistaLLib, SDLconfig.txt, SDLFileOperation.xml, SDLLinkRemove.xml and SDLRegistry.xml .

This is introduced due to Lite Rom developement to distinguish from the usual heavy Rom.

Place the VistaLLib and SDLConfig.txt in the Storage Card, flash the nbh image file and boot in HARD RESET Mode.


The process should be automated as follows:

a. Loads the new theme Mobile_Vista.tsk

b. Loads all HTC and Virtual Vista cabs.

c. The process will finish after machine's final reset.

Although it is named Lite, in addition to the above cabs and all the 18128 Build features, the following have also been implemented:

So please hard test it and let me know your findings by posting to the Xda topic you download the nbh image.

I will appreciate your beta testing once again in order to finally achive WM6.1 roms.

This is just the oem att build with a vista.tsk theme applied... Do a 6.1 base and i might think about it.. Also has all the bloatware from att in the rom... No Go!!

Thnx for your contribution, but i would like to know:

Is that so ?

Remember that i am working in a virtual environment and start up as well as base functions are of major importance.

Sorry guy, didn't realize the purpose of this beta.. my bad!

That said, it ran fast.. it was very much like flashing the stock rom for Herme 100
it threw me cuz it ran almost identical to that rom i didn't realie your purpose of this..
everything loaded fine. buttons. costomizations..all ran stable.. apps loaded good also.

Unfortunately, I am not able to be a beta tester for you since I am new to having a Hermes (only one week). But I have already SIMS/CID Unlocked my phone to put a new OS onto it. It came with WM5 and I am looking to upgrade it to the Vista look for this phone and not the "Black Diamond" look (I have that look on my Wizard). So HARRAH! More or less will be as my usual screens, and already completed diamond home, S2U2 and some more apps you may find useful.

2. If you had included a RUU wrapper, instead of flashing through SD a lot more people would uptake your offer as a beta tester.

Thanks a lot for your comments, i suppose that it is running because as you may have noticed i am not developing in the real machine.

As far for flashing, i pressumed that all have the flashing utility.

One question: Did AutoRun and SDAutoRun performed as it should and VistaLLib cabs have been loaded?

Not as smooth as Marahox SDconfigs, hang on me a couple of times, so overall experience, was a bit daunting.

Tried the radio version, it is not going to the customization screen. Love the graphics though, and no sound for startup animation! Will play with it more and see if it works!

Oh yea, GSM is a no no for my hermes, wish i checked the thread again to download the non-radio version LOL

Well it's a no go. It flashes and boots then hangs with the windows mobile 6 splash screen and the start menu appears but I can't do anything. I tried hard reset and soft resets and still nothing.

I get exactly the same......maybe we are ALL missing something, or does it not work on the Hermes....

However you can re-flash the device after it sync's but you have no screen operation, no stylus actions...

Looks nice, but need to know its more stable first before trying again...

Tried both versions on my jasjam and no love here, It keeps hanging at the windows splash screen though I do get the start menu option at the top. Funny thing though, no screen alignment needed?

Boss u sure this has no radio? image still 80 odd mb for non radio OS? will do it anyway and report back. Boss, still hangs on boot screen, it's almost 90 MB of OS loading? must be some junk included in there, ... Don't flash this people.

Same here, hangs at boot screen. No difference from last Beta.
